I never get sharpnel on sniper :I No really sniper is already a bad pick, if you have the balls to play him in the first place, don't level sharpnel, you will deal a lot more damage which, ya know, is the point of sniper
get dota2 key play game i have never felt more noobish in my entire life

Shrapnel is his best ability. AoE slow, damage, vision, low CD, spammable in teamfights, damages towers. None of his other abilities are as useful as Shrapnel, arguably even Assassinate.

[editline]7th April 2012[/editline] if you dont level shrapnel youre giving up: lane control, area denial, tower killing, closing off escapes, aoe in teamfights and the closest thing you have to an escape among many other things its really best to have [editline]7th April 2012[/editline] and sniper still isnt a bad hero
so apparently sharpnel is the best skill ever holy shit man! 48 damage per second on level 4 30% slow on level 4 120 mana to cast it okay, go ahead, spam it on a teamfight then even try to cast your ult and wow man 30% of 48 damage done to towers, that sure will destroy them faster than auto attacking! oh and sniper isn't bad now, yet he has a pending rework ok
not if you're going to go divine rapier lmao
I had too much money and just wanted to see how rapier felt lol.

Sniper doesn't have neither capacity nor reason to abuse this spell. Lane control ? Your range is insane, you can last hit and deny well beyond range of any stun. Quick level 4 of range means safe laning and no, Shrapnel won't save you from ganks, unless enemies never got boots and you have Boots of Travel. Damage to towers ? You outrange towers. Yes, Shrapnel doesn't even require you to stay around, but unless you got orchid or some other manaregen, you are likely giving up Shrapnel in teamfight or Assasinate for that runner who is too far for anything else. Area Denial ? Show me initiator/ganker who won't stand in Shrapnel if he can get a kill. Hell, show me support who got 0 regen and stood in Shrapnel long enough to be vulnerable. Closing off escape ? If someone is close and slow enough for Shrapnel to help, some attack speed and passive ministun would do much better, though indeed, couple that with Shrapnel and you have a kill. Though escaping enemy would much rather avoid getting Assasinate in their ass than Shrapnel. AoE in teamfights. True, that's what it is for. Slowing people in teamfight and slowly damaging them. No argument there. Escaping. No. Shrapnel won't save you from gank or let you escape more easily. If anything, it will solidify your escape, nothing more. It's 30% slow, but range and cast time mean that any ganker/chase worth his salt will make it with a stun or slow on you. It's good for "burning the bridge", i.e. you escape to the high ground and shrapnel the access area, which will ensure people won't even come and chase you, but I dare say that Shadow Blade would work better in those terms. Sniper is Auto-attack carry, Shrapnel is his icing/teamfight bonus/tower last-hit and addition to team's harder CC, not main tool.
Really all this "Lol it's good to scape" thing is bullshit I'd like to see how is it going to save you at all if huskar life breaks you or pudge hooks you and, if I wanted to have a good aoe damaging slow, I'd play pudge

yeah standing still to cast a shitty slow while I'm beign chased will sure save me
yeah stading still to cast a shitty slow while I'm beign chased will sure save me
do you know what animation cancelling is
I never get Shrapnel on Sniper, shitty spell which is only there to deplete your manabar.
I never get Shrapnel on Sniper, shitty spell which is only there to deplete your manabar.
Your mana bar which only has a use at level 6-11. Before then, it's the only thing you can cast. Afterwords, your int gain is high enough where you can give 0 fucks about regen even with no regen items. Shrapnel is a great slow, but if you don't bother using it that probably explains why you think sniper sucks so much. That said, I have a terrible record as sniper because I played like my first 25 games as him. Before I knew what the fuck I was doing.
Well my core item on sniper is forcestaff, which I use to get on top of cliffs so I can snipe them from places they can't reach. So I don't know really.
Well my core item on sniper is forcestaff, which I use to get on top of cliffs so I can snipe them from places they can't reach. I love playing pudge. I just need to be awake while playing him and I need a bit more practice with him. But he's just so fun to play.
I love playing pudge. I just need to be awake while playing him and I need a bit more practice with him. And push stick. [editline]7th April 2012[/editline] in my last 21 games (all random hero) I got carries 17 times. Fuck you random button.
if huskar life breaks or you get hooked/swapped youre fucked, its not meant to be a hard escape, its perfectly fine for putting distance between you and the enemy in chases
It's not all hard to get out of if you have a ghost scepter/ethereal blade and some sort of stun/disable. I went 10/0 in a game where Huskar was focusing me, and I didn't die as I had that item.

Hell, I was laning as Pugna with Huskar once, Lifebreak on etheral target is the dunk man.
I never get Shrapnel on Sniper, shitty spell which is only there to deplete your manabar.
You people are why I piss off other people asking if they get Shrapnel.
pro sniepr guide; 1-5 stats 6 assassinate 7-10 stats 11 assinate 12-15 stats 16 assassinate dont forget to buy shadow blade and heart of terrorasqu
enigma laning is bad he's super squishy and mana hungry, just woods with him
Nah, sometimes I play him mid if no one wants to because his ecelon things make it so easy to last hit an deny. The person I was laning against always gets pissed when I am able to deny his creeps at half hp.
my entire team had left, this was fun, prolonged it out to almost 50 (missing two items because I spent 12k in the last few minutes on 2 divines) can't carry em all :C I'm so new to drow I had no idea what to buy to make the most out of her, please help me here
Oops I'm late here but: A good progression is wraith -> treads -> hotd -> manta/daedalus. HotD for lifesteal & stacking creeps. You need manta or daed to actually bridge you into late-game, because Drow's damage doesn't scale well early. After daed or manta you're virtually unstoppable as long as you don't do anything stupid/you're fed. Statistically your damage output from you & 2 illusions on manta is actually higher than daed, and manta is cheaper too. But you lose the ability to surpass that DPS when your illusions die/are on CD, so it's all personal preference. These days I usually go wraith -> treads -> lothars -> daedalus just because, if you can fit in lothars under 20 mins, you can probably do some pretty sweet ganking with it which can feed you in-between teamfights & farming. Plus pub teams don't think to buy gem early and other counter measures.
25/2 as Viper in 30 minutes First blood at 3:31 on bloodseeker. That game was a pure pub stomp.
I could use a betakey for a friend, and im wondering if its maybe possible to trade for one? all that i have to offer is TF2 shit worth of about 5-6 Refined metals.
Played Dota on a Lan a few days ago. Dota 2 now feels waaaay too slow. I still suck though.
I hate when people feed so hard early game (3 deaths on one person by 3 minutes? How the fuck is that even possible?) and then I have to try and gank the already somewhat fed lanes as whatever ganker hero I'm playing as during early-mid.
I find it pretty funny necrolyte skull chases you half across the map if you're fast enough to not get hit by it.
I find it pretty funny necrolyte skull chases you half across the map if you're fast enough to not get hit by it.
My friend was playing invoker and was able to out run it for several minutes (at least 2). It was pretty funny.
