To any stalkerbrehs that still play a TFW, a new version is to be released soon: http://www.gsc-game.com/index.php?t=community&s=forums&s_game_type=xr3&thm_page=1&thm_id=2775&sec_id=19
I hate starting a new game because you have to earn all your good stuff again. That, and dogs are just a little bit more than an annoyance :v:
STALKER games are the best at the start. Not as fun when you become a walking SEVA-suit behemoth with enough bullets to supply an entire army.
The best memories of Stalker that I have are when I first started playing

Adds a nice challenge to the game, plus you can lug back any gear you get with your vastly lighter loadout.
Ask for a stalker to tell you a story, shitloads of Russian text, only dialogue option is " interesting "
Actually I've been reading the main thread for SGM 2.1 on GSC's forums and it looks like the translation was just finished yesterday. I wouldn't know for sure though since the download for the main SGM 2.1 installer is taking forever. Right now the only way to find stuff is to dig through this thread. http://www.gsc-game.com/index.php?t=community&s=forums&s_game_type=xr3&thm_page=1&thm_id=5166&sec_id=18 Here's the translation itself for anyone who's interested. http://www.mediafire.com/?w3b59juzckt09sp The author says he'll have all the download links consolidated soon.
So I was shot by RPG guy in SGM 1.7, the blast knocked me back and I ended up face to face with Dat Lion, all of a sudden I'm teleported straight into an electro anomaly. I don't think I need to sleep tonight.
The best memories of Stalker that I have are when I first started playing
I still remember my first night in stalker. i spent it roaming around the wild territory terrified at what could happen
Looks like Metro: Last Light and STALKER 2 are gonna share a year, Metro: LL was delayed to 2013.
You left a link to Project MAOI instead of TFW. :P
Still hope it's being updated. TFW was a really fun mod, I'm just wondering what this update is going to have.
Looking at a Stalker Bro stuggling to fight against those Psy Dogs and being attacked make me feel bad for him... I can give a Med Kit to an injured (downed) Stalker to save him, right?
It's amazing got a couple bugs but definately worth playing. Plus has quite a few new levels and such. I'd recommend it.
Does it have a lot more stuff over SGM 2.0 at the moment?
Still hope it's being updated. TFW was a really fun mod, I'm just wondering what this update is going to have.
Off the top of my head, traders and mechanics spawn at captured bases (though they don't sell much/can't upgrade), you have to reach a certain level of relations with a faction before you can join them. Bloodsuckers are no longer invulnerable when cloaked! Well, technically they are, but the guy is using the config for Izloms with the model for bloodsuckers, so that should be a lot less annoying.
You left a link to Project MAOI instead of TFW. :P
Fucking magnets :P http://www.gsc-game.com/index.php?t=community&s=forums&s_game_type=xr3&thm_page=1&thm_id=2775&sec_id=19 TFW was pretty cool, but I didn't really find it scary. I know that kinda goes against the whole idea of faction wars but I kinda wanna be creeped out like I do in SoC. Maybe I just need to make the mod harder... but I don't really want to go and lower the enemy respawn time so much that the whole game world is spammed with enemies (I'm kinda making an assumption here - I'm not sure if it actually does that). Maybe it'll be interesting playing TFW with really low population numbers though, it could be interesting. Also, the enemy AI was a lot of the times unresponsive in TFW v3.0 so I hope that's fixed.

Anyway, I didn't find, nor expect, TFW to be scary. What I like is the feeling of dragging your faction out of the dirt (particularly as Clear Sky), and defeating multiple superior opponents. Of course, there isn't much to do after you "win", and I feel Loner quests are seriously underdeveloped. I think it needs a lot more variety in quests, and they need to be more ~bespoke.
interesting i snapped that a while ago
AFAIK there's one rather well translated story Stalkers can tell you in SGM about a buddy who ended up travelling back in time temporarily, and ended up almost having a run-in with a Baron and his men. That one was pretty good.

But I really liked the micro-RTS feeling, and being able to get a status report on the faction you're siding with and call for reinforcements.
So, Glitchy. Any weapons in SGM 2.1 that need their sights fixed?
I didn't really find defeating other factions to be quite satisfying - every main base I raided the AI were quite un-responsive. It doesn't help that a lot of factions seem to have 9x39mm weapons for their base guards, that rip through my armour in seconds. The one irritating thing, though, is every time you load a saved game corpses disappear, so you have to take the base all in one play without dying if you want the best loot.
Yeah I realized corpses were disappearing... BTW, can you lower the Limansk bridge in TFW? Or is there no way to go to Limansk at all?
In TFW it's currently unaccessable.
Some of you may recall a while ago a mod list I wrote up for SHoC, well now I've finally gotten around to getting lists up for Clear Sky and Pripyat. Gonna try The Warmongers. Apparently the mutant spawn rate is so high one guy compared it to Serious Sam. :v:

Serious Sam trained me in taking down large hordes of critters too well. :v: Unless it's pseudodogs, then you run to nearest tall rock. [editline]4th February 2012[/editline]
"4. That kind of bus seems to be extremely common, though. Fun fact : that bus is located within a short distance away from the IRL Skadovsk and the Dregde Station in Call of Pripyat. [editline]herp[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/MtmDC.jpg[/t] You can see what appears to be the dredge station in the upper left.
Where do you even find all those pictures? Are the Ukrainians having a field day?
This one I discovered myself with Google maps. The concept art leak I posted in the last thread I found on GSC forums, in the "GSC Game World Close, STALKER 2 Cancelled?"-thread which has ventured further and further off-topic ever since GSC announced that they are still continuing operations. And those guys found the info on stalker-zone.info or something.
it looks like all the concept art of areas is based just on existing photos of the zone, probably ones found online
We don't know at all how much concept art there is, we may have seen just a tiny fraction of it.
Actually I'm pretty sure that Novikov does all the research for them, the majority of the pictures just recently surfaced and are of a diffrent perspective.
the fact that novikov is a real person continues to amaze me Has anyone made a Stalker video in the style of "When I'm bored"? Am I going to be laughed at for suggesting someone does?

Trying to uninstall Redux, there's no fucking .exe in the CoP folder, how do.
For a graphic mod for SoC is Autumn Aurora recommended or should I go with Stalker Complete? (or unless there is something better out there I should get). For something gameplay changing that has better AI and increased damage towards enemies (but obviously with it being the same towards you so it's balanced) The ones I found that seemed good were AMK and L.U.R.K but while it looks like they add in some cool features I don't know if they have those damage changes.
