Hello members of Ess.Tee.Ahe.Ele.Kay.Eee.Arr punch! (Try and find the reference.) I have looked over all of the titles carefully, and I am going to get a stalker game, but which one should I get first? Should I start with SoC, CS, or jump right into CoP?
Get SoC, then CS, then CoP, play vanilla first time through all of them, ask us for help/advice if needed. Sorted.

The rest of the games won't make nearly as much sense without playing it first, and it's the only one with something resembling a tutorial. In general, try to play the games in the order they're released. Play it without mods the first time, although if you're having particular problems with bugs you might want to consider downloading the Zone Reclamation Project, which is purely a fixpack. I'll add a if I can find a mirror of it.

I'm suprised with how Yahtzee still managed to keep a fairly positive review of Clear Sky, even with the fact that he played the utterly buggy release version.
I don't know if people have seen them already, but some of the cut conversations between Duty and Freedom on this page are utterly hilarious.
:words:
I liked it. A few parts got a little dry and it took some willpower to keep reading, but it was still fine. Also, I'm thinking the dates should be fixed a little bit. It wouldn't really take four months to learn about STALKERS, the Zone, and all that. Also, if you were writing it as if there were updates between those two dates, wouldn't it make more sense to act as if the STALKERS, Zone, factions, artifacts, etc. were all already explained? Anyways, fine job

Anyone remember that?
Also, someone should write a story about the U.S. Marine Corporations. Anyone remember that?
Last time somebody nearly did that all the Russian STALKER forums formed a rebellion and Joe had to publically correct that several times to avoid shitstorm.

What is the mutant that's in like a long hallway or something, and it makes the screen wobble and static sort of, and it hurts you by making the camera zoom in, and then thrusting it's palm towards you?

HAH fuckin beat you you good for nothing awesome mission writer you
Controllers are piss easy to kill once you know the best way to kill them [sp]F1 grenade[/sp]
I have a serious problem: In Tecnobacon's DMX 1.3.4 1.0.8.9, I CTD whenever I approach the rookie village in cordon (after being to x18 coming from the dark valley), and I need to get there. Googling this issue has yielded no results whatsoever, so I was wondering if anyone here has had this issue and knows what to do.
Controllers are piss easy to kill once you know the best way to kill them [sp]F1 grenade[/sp]
Unless you're playing CoP, in which case the best way to kill them is liberal use of RPG-7s and the Gauss Rifle. Who fucking makes Controllers absorb more damage than and exo, it just isn't right! "A white chimera! A white chimera!" Just beat CS and wow the hit detection was horrible, I though SoC was bad but ok and manageable and couldn't get any worse but CS proved me wrong, had to get a mod so it worked properly (don't come kill me for using a mod for a first play through :v:) Still a great game though. (Please tell me the hit detection in CoP is better) Had this awesome moment where me and Freedom where fighting Mercs at a base of theirs and one of the mercs who was on a ledge jumped over the cover he was using as we were shooting at him and starting just firing everywhere with his gun at us like he was Rambo. So I shot him in the stomach and he gets his left hand and put's it over where I shot him and with his right hand continues firing at us with one hand :v: So after shooting at him again a couple of times he slowly tipped over and fell off the building while still firing. Made me feel bad for killing him, god damn he didn't give up.

Duty: Yes, I can imagine the readings the scientists are getting - Air samples: 100% smoke. Water samples: 100% vodka. And idiotic laughter on all sound frequencies.
What happened to that pony fanfic dramatic reading anyways?

I think we can all benefit from using that name. Also, did anyone ever post that story on the GSC or any other STALKER forums? I'd love to see the reactions to that shit.
What happened to that pony fanfic dramatic reading anyways?
I'm wondering this too. We had like three guys doing it and then it just disappeared with the last blowout.
Just beat CS and wow the hit detection was horrible, I though SoC was bad but ok and manageable and couldn't get any worse but CS proved me wrong, had to get a mod so it worked properly (don't come kill me for using a mod for a first play through :v:) Still a great game though. Really, they never give up fighting, even if they've been fatally shot, they'll keep shooting until they're dead on the ground. Gotta respect that. Gangsta.
What happened to that pony fanfic dramatic reading anyways?
I can always pull one out. Nobody did Chapter 4 yet. :v:
I'm wondering this too. We had like three guys doing it and then it just disappeared with the last blowout.
one of them beat himself to death with his own mic, one lapsed into a coma, and the last was throttled by his own small intestine in a desperate attempt to save his brain.
I can always pull one out. Nobody did Chapter 4 yet. :v:
Please tell me you're going to make it into a youtube video, spiced with appropriate S.T.A.L.K.E.R ambience and all ? Maybe take footage from a campfire posse and edit it in a way that it'd seem that the stalkers are telling the story.
Okay. Don't say I didn't warn you. Heh. I guess I should just post it but stick it into a quote box? As I said I was trying a strange style of writing, maybe it will seem normal to others but here you go. I've not got that much written out yet.
As a first person monologue it isn't bad, and feels quite natural. There's a few grammatical problems and flow is a bit iffy in places, but it feels real, if not immersive. Planning on writing more?
