Why is it that the majority of games based around the Vietnam War are total shit? The only decent one ive heard of is Battlefield Vietnam. it just seems like with so many WW2/Moderns war games out there hardly anyone has even dipped thier feet into the Vietnam war. And to be honest. The gaming world could use a really good vietnam game.
I guess they could. I think American's don't like making Vietnam War games because technically they lost the war. This is a disappointment to them so instead they prefer making WW2 games because they did a fucking nice job there

Quoted and Edited for Truth.
They need to make a Battlefield Vietnam 2 already, dammit.

Maybe after 1943 comes out on the PC....we can hope.
BF Vietnam is great,2 bad no campaign..
fuck i loveee AH-1 Cobrass
I would like to see a vietnam game.
Can't believe you guys haven't mentioned yet. That game is fucking excellent.
With underground tunnel systems :fappery:
Anyone else think a Company of Heroes-esk Vietnam game would be badass?
And unable to see anything through the tree canopy.
Though they would most probably just make it invisible like buildings roofs are in RTS's.
And you level up to call in Agent orange and there goes the entire forest. :)
Or Napalm whatever you prefer.
Wasn't there a Vietnam mod for ArmA?
Wasn't it (buggy as) shit?
Vietcong 1 and 2.
SEAL Team for DOS was a great game set in Vietnam. (If you are not a graphic whore that is.)
Vietcong was brilliant.
At least the demo was.

i would say they won the japan side of the war and helped out with the germans
Men of Valor was pretty good, it was basically an M rated Medal of Honor set in Vietnam.
I second Vietcong, really atmospheric games with huge dense jungles complete with traps and tunnels.
I wouldn't really call Battlefield Vietnam a good Vietnam game since it was so tame, but it was pretty fun however unbalanced as shit it may have been.
What about "men of valor"?
Why has no-one made a Crysis mod set in Vietnam?
And Vietcong was pretty good, yeah. Especially some of the multiplayer coop missions like the one in the swamps. I used to play it online and it was brillant on that level when everyone played as a unit and not solo.
It's too bad that the game had such lousy netcode and so many cheaters.
a Vietnam mod on the Cryengine with a good soundtrack...Id kill for that.
Because the Americans lost, they like making WWII games because they turned up at the end and helped the Russians finish off the Germans.

Vietnam: The experience mod for OFP/ArmA/ArmA 2
Unsung mod for OFP/ArmA/ArmA 2
Heart of Evil singleplayer mod for HL1 (THE ORIGINAL, DONT GET NAPALM EDITON, IT SUCKS)
That is all.

Edit; Russia did a pretty good job though.
Edit 2; America actually sold weapons to Britain and Germany to fuel the war before they entered.
Battlefield Vietnam needs a sequal, I would happily pay £40 for it.
I would pay £40.01

Yeah, so? The game was fully updated.
Still had 100+ pings and people were zooming around the maps.
