So, is this worth getting Arma II: CO for?
Arma 2:CO is worth it in general really, besides this mod there's so much in Arma 2 you can do.
So, is this worth getting Arma II: CO for?
You shouldn't just get ArmA II just for DayZ, you'll eventually get burned out on DayZ and if you don't like ArmA II's gameplay style then you will basically have wasted your money. I'd only get ArmA II if you are going to play the normal game play as well. Also, in a side note I wish they allowed JSRS and other client side mods like that in these servers.
Anyone know how to hold a flare in hand. :v:
Yay! I won't be able to log for a few hours either, that's great! <3 I logged off being raped by zombies in the industrial area of Cherno, I guess, it was pretty dark. ACE changes lots of things while JSRS is just sounds [editline]11th May 2012[/editline]
I might be able to help too, if I get out of electro safely. ACEX_SM is only custom sounds, it's completely independent from the other ACE stuff.
I think at the moment i'll have to remove ACEX_SM keys, and not add any soundmod keys until further notice because it just makes testing the mod so much harder, sorry :saddowns: Because soundmods can cause unforeseen issues, but he did say he was looking into integrating JSRS later! Not sure why you disagree because for example currently the mod uses sound values from vanilla to calculate how much noise you make when you move around, acex_sm doesn't use values in the same format as vanilla does, and as such when i tried using acex_sm on my own server a few days ago, the mod bugged out and zombies couldn't hear/see me.
So in short Rocket would have to add support for each sound mod separately, and I'd imagine there are still much more important things to work with :v:
God damnit what is the host for the chicago servers doing, me and my friend were in Chicago 2 when suddenly session lost, we wait for the server to come back up and we join and are in game and all and then he closes the bloody server again.
So I logged out to go for dinner, I was rather healthy at 10k blood as I logged back in, I for some reason had passed out and the timer was longer than usual, after waiting that long, my character spazzed the fuck out and ended up on his back, I could look up and down but I couldn't move. Then I logged out and now when I try to log back in I get "Waiting for server response..." FUCK!
I was on a mountain and had a stand off with some guy down near the light house. I killed one of them but the other two disappeared, probably logged off the server. I got some night vision goggles from the guy :) Gonna log off and use them tonight.
Well, motherfucking ladders man, how do they work, i just randomly fell off of it and died, lost a AK47 and a M1911, and now I am joining and its taking forever, its been like 15 minutes
FUCKING SHIT. I'm so tired of bandits. They fuck up everything.
Just had a stand off with a guy, we both shot and died at the same time :v:
Did 3/4 of the servers just go offline for anyone else? Also is there anywhere where you can get the hunting rifle from ArmA 2?
I can't even join a server. I've been waiting for hours on end :\
Did 3/4 of the servers just go offline for anyone else? They normally have winchesters.
http://avidblur.com/arma2/ About the tank, I think it would be a nice idea to have it on the map. It would give a reason for all the fighting, maybe even make bandits kill each other to get the tank instead of massacring survivors 24/7. Even without the ability to shoot, it's still a vehicle and not lightly armored at that, so I don't see a problem with it. It's like adding high-level gear to some RPG game. Also, I hope the devs will add some sort of non-lootable tent thingy. Part of the reason I liked FOnline is, even though you die, and on some servers there's even permadeath, you can still go back and reclaim some of your stuff, so that makes dying less frustrating and more fun. Maybe you could find some safe deposit boxes with space no bigger than Alice pack and store it in the tent. I don't know but I feel it would be nice.
Long shot but if you can find a small safe deposit box/fire proof box than you can use a shovel to bury it somewhere. Only you can dig it up. Make it only like five slots big. Enough for a handgun, some ammo and bandages that sort of thing.
God damn, I found 15 stanag magazines in a pile in the NW airfield barracks. Screw carrying around two guns now, I have enough mags for my M16 M203 to last me a lifetime.
That's how I am with my AKM.

Stashes like in STALKER would be interesting. Maybe make 2 seperate items, the packs and then some kind of lock that you can put in the pack so only you can open it? Or maybe it gives you a key so if they kill the player they can open the stash with it? Can ARMA even do that? :v:
I was looting a corpse and someone killed me. :(
I just got killed by a guy camping out in the aircraft control tower with a Vintorez.
I like watching people complain about dying. It's how this would really play out. Everyone likes to think that a zombie apocalypse would be really cool and everyone would be a Survivor man but in reality if you survive the initial chaos you're still likely to get shot in the back of the head for some pork and beans or break your leg by falling off a ladder and than set upon by zombies. The mortality rate during such things is less than desirable.

Me and six of my buddies from college camped the factory out of Elecktro on KC2, we threw flares out into the distance and funnily enough, only bandits ever came into the glow, we dispatched them quick smart and looted their corpses keeping us going for a good 4 hours before they logged off and hit the sack. I've never found a game thats made treking around the wilderness so much fun.
Found a tent and took an AKS-74 with kobra sight out of it.
This game could use some kind of throwable meat item to distract the zombies in case you run out of ammo and you have like 10 of them on you.
