All of Ricochet
If you shoot of the headcrab from the host's face it shows the host in a permanent state of screaming. His last moments of freedom where spent screaming in agony before it's death.
The creepiest thing in my opinion is the Poison Zombie sounds. But then, you hear it stalking you, the strained breathing, the moaning, the horrible agony the thing is You walk to a door, only to hear that horrible raspy breath. You wonder what abomination of mankind that beast could be. You open the door to see a carrier for horrible animals.
This, except it blew the door off.
When ever a tf2 player dies just as they vocalize. My friend made me almost shit myself when he thought it would be funny to drop a dead laughing engie ragdoll from above me
is it a rebel being turned into a stalker? :ohdear:
Definitely a human being tortured.
is it a rebel being turned into a stalker? :ohdear:
:ohdear: Jesus reading this thread has made the Half Life universe a fuck tonne darker for me. And just think, EP3 is going to be scarier. :saddowns:
Sounds like Dr Magnusson.
That part in episode two where you see a hunter at the window (where Alyx gets injured)
This entire thread makes me :ohdear:
is it a rebel being turned into a stalker? :ohdear:
Sounds like somebody is slowly being dismembered.
HL2 in Route Canal when you ducked under that vent thing and a fucking zombie jumped out of nowhere :ohdear:
I think that citadel ambient stuff is subliminal messages. Also someone had theories stating that only the vanilla and zombine zombies are "alive".
That part in episode two where you see a hunter at the window (where Alyx gets injured)
Good God I literally jumped out of my Chair the first time I saw that.
We don't go there anymore.
And the mindfuckery is precisely why.
god dammit gabe said that episode 3 was gonna scare us even more :saddowns:
These new speculation threads make me feel scared to play Half Life. Other than the zombie levels, i didnt pay much attention to the ambient scary-ness.
Someone ordered a Mindfuck?
Edit: Actually, that place in Anticitizen One where you break the wooden board and a bunch of dead headcrabs fall down was pretty weird. Oh and the Gman TV as mentioned earlier. Plus some of the un-used music was really strange, some of it was along the same lines as the one that played during the Gman TV part, filled with discordant pianos and creaking sounds and other weird shit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6arcSfJrj8&feature=PlayList&p=6004540F3BBFFE48&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=39 Just found an example of one of those songs that wasn't in any level (at least not to my knowledge). It makes me feel somewhat uneasy. I would have hated to hear this in a secluded place where everything doesn't seem quite right. The sewers seem to come to mind for some reason.

It can be heard while entering the playground from the first chapter in the chapter "Anticitizen One".
It's scary only when you stop to think about it. But the whole thread made me think that, perhaps, they were right when they made HL2 far brighter than it was going to be...
Definately the zombine sounds :ohdear:
Same link, bro
mindfuck
Same link, bro
Captain Failor on his way. --- Off to check if HGrunt is right. I do believe that there was a different song.
The part in EP2 where you're in the rebel base that had the car scared me the first time I played it. I haven't played it in a while but I remember going through the place and hearing a faint panting sound. I instantly thought, "poison headcrab zombie," and for as long as I was in the base and I could hear it, my bowels were dry from fear. I had no idea where the thing was or when it would jump out at me and throw the poison headcrab at my face. Hell, I went berserk when one of the rooms went dark only to find I wasted all my SMG and shotgun ammo on three regular zombies.
