Anyone here know how to make Skyrim weapons in Blender? Been trying to port some stuff but stuck on UV mapping so I could use some pointers if possible.
Bought Morrowind GotY from the sale. So much nostalgia
Unfortunately. But maybe we get to visit some Daedric Realm? I mean doesn't Mephala hate undead; that might include vampires. And you get the Dawnbreaker from her. I think I heard somewhere that some guy from Bethesda said that they'd like to revisit the city of Daggerfall. (Don't quote me on that though.)
Honestly if the major questline is fucking brilliantly paced and acutally a QUESTLINE unlike all the bullshit in Skyrim, then I'd be willing to pay for that The big issue with skyrim is that they designed their entire meta-game and gameplay systems around having the player constantly doing questing above all else, when questing is by far the worst part of the game. A DLC that adds an actually good/great quest would really work out nicely with their "never get bored/lost, do quests all the time" type of design they went with for Skyrim.
The Kinect for skyrim makes me very nervous because it keeps saying "TRY AGAIN" everytime an NPC is speaking.
I do not like how the quests have no sense of urge, sometimes you can just play for like countless hours during a mainquest where you have, for instance rescue/find a person. It makes no sense, or like in the quest where you capture Odahvin in Dragonsreach, he simply stays for an eternity there without any consequences.
so, IS morrowind worth getting? I've thought about it and as its on sale...
Morrowind has the following major faults: 1. The combat system is based off of pen-and-paper type stuff. It's just as deep as an actual pen-and-paper RPG, but it also has gameplay aspects to it that just feel extremely outdated. Such as, your skill mostly determines a random chance to miss with a weapon (even if it looks like you are clearly hitting), running consumes stamina (which adds to your chances to miss at low stamina..), etc. 2. The pacing is very slow. The first 10 levels, gameplay wise, kind of suck compaired to moment-to-moment gameplay in later levels. The main quest takes a SERIOUSLY long time to pick up any steam. While this is to it's benefit on some scale (i.e. it gives you total freedom and makes you more invested in the world before becoming invested in the main quest), it does it to a degree that is painful if you just want to get the MQ done. And you being very weak early on has some benefit too - it makes you feel like you earned your status as a bad-ass, instead of having it be given to you. Helps too, that higher level allies in guilds basically require you to be as good as them in order to advance in said guild (and they WILL kick your ass at low levels). It had a good vision, but if the mechanics were much better, that good vision would have felt better. 3. Presentation wise, it sucks. However, thanks to plenty of graphic mods (MGE), texture replacers (I personally love Darker Morrowind - better quality textures that fit the moody style), and model replacers (better bodies) you can get something that looks almost as good as Oblivion, with an art style that looks MUCH better. If you can *deal* with the above issues though, Morrowind is EASILY the best TES game in the series. It all has to do with the fact that they spent 6 years meticulously building the world of morrowind by hand, and the entire game design is focused around the world, instead of the quests (which Skyrim does). Diverse enviornments, great art style, great storyline/lore, etc. Many people just can't get into it though, thanks to the bad pacing at the start and the old pen+paper style combat design. This can be relived if you properly build your character at the start, but you're not gonna know how to make a proper character on your first run through, which is where people get frustrated (as making wrong characters will SERIOUSLY give you a frustrating time).
so, IS morrowind worth getting? I've thought about it and as its on sale...
I really enjoyed it, because it feels so diverse and interesting. The animations aren't exactly great, and the combat is horrifically abysmal, but the sheer amount factions, environments and quests make it a very interesting game.

If you treat it like an action-RPG, a genre that was in its infancy when it was released, it'll feel awful.
Welp I broke it. I can no longer shout anymore because aperantly I'm already shouting.
Welp I broke it. I can no longer shout anymore because aperantly I'm already shouting.
obvious that dovahkiin has a bad case of strep throat, give him a rest for a few days

I was forced to stab certain enemies upwards of a hundred times in order to kill them. Felt like I was doing more damage to my hand to be completely honest.

In regards to Skyrim, it looks like I've encountered a major bug. Ever since I tried messing with ENB series configurations, Skyrim has been loading slow as hell. Getting through a loading screen used to take seconds, but now it takes upward to a minute. And literally half of the time, the game refuses to load my saves! It absolutely refuses to load files where the player is outdoors. My saves files are normal-size and not bloated. The only solutions I've found involve resetting the .ini files and defragmenting the harddrive. The former didn't work at all, and I'm currently doing the latter. Disabling mods has no effect at all. I've already tried verifying the cache. I've read that reinstalling the game might not work either... And no, I didn't install/uninstall the ENB incorrectly. Although at one point I did almost accidentally delete my entire data folder, but that's inconsequential to this problem.

I always liked using wakizashis in morrowind.
God what a TERRIBLE promotional image. (dawnguard)
His eyes are the weirdest part I think. I can't tell what they're going for. It could be related to vampires or werewolves. Then again it looks a little evil. Maybe it has to do with dragons? I don't know. Whatever it is, looks like dovahkiin went through some serious shit.
I always liked using wakizashis in morrowind.
The daedric wakizashi is a pretty nasty weapon. Even moreso when enchanted. Short blade isn't as useful as blunt, axe or long blade though.. since those cover both one handed and two handed variants.
I just went into a mod binge and downloaded about 40 mods. oh god why
Would anyone happen to know the INI tweak to make actors not fade out when you get close to them? Nevermind, found it.
Is the daedric dagger just a scale model of a daedric sword for dolls or some shit because it looks pathetic.
gonna start a new playthrough, want to clear up my mods and start from scratch so I don't have bulk conflicts like I currently do anyone have a list of good mods that enhance the game?
Most here would say Imperial. Stormcloak offers more of a fun playthrough imo. It always feels better being the underdog in these rebellion scenarios.
Agreed. I never feel right doing an Imperial playthrough. I don't buy into Ulfric's 'oppression' angle, but I don't think the Empire is handling things in a good way (NOT to suggest Ulfric would). Plus, vikings are cooler than Romans. EDIT: Although I must admit, defending Whiterun to this from 5:52 onwards was pretty badass.

That sword rapes everything. I had some crazy enchantments on my daedric set of armor too. I had levitation, waterbreathing, reflection, and the works.

I think it's safe to say that my Skyrim is royally borked. [t]http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/3450/screenshot2kux.png[/t]

Imperials or stormcloaks I'm just about to get the crown can i turn sides
Thanks, wasn't planning on sleeping ever or anything.
Well, I was going to put the image in full size instead of a thumbnail, but decided against it. You're welcome. After disabling all my ESP files, I've narrowed the problem with my game to Imaginator and that Extended Slider Colors mod. Both of them seriously fuck up my load times to the point where they get stuck and task manager reports Skyrim as "not responding". Kind of odd that they suddenly start messing up, though. As for the fucked up face...I'll get to that later.
so what are you gents playing as right now? for my second playthrough i've elected the path of the mysterious and dangerous khajiit battlemage. well, i'm mostly a mage. but i wear heavy armor and swipe at people with my claws. i'm undecided as to how well this is working out so far
