Source is flexible and that's why they continue to update it. The physics and lighting are very realistic and the graphics aren't that shabby. Keep in mind guys, this is a beta.. Send feedback in and it may be fixed, remember when BF3 had so much glitches and shit but on its release was mostly fine?
You're confusing graphics with glitches. I know they both start with the letter G but that does not make them the same. Jokes aside, Source is really getting old Valve needs to update it. The "oh some peoples hardware..." is out of date. Everybody has a more then capable machine now, or atleast most people who PC game do. If you have a AGP card its not really our fault and I dislike how this is holding back the Source engine. Also the lighting in source is horrible, the shadows are horrible etc. The textures are flat etc. I'm not saying its a bad engine, its just outdated. [editline]2nd December 2011[/editline]
I'm going to be 100% honest here. I prefer CS:S over 1.6. Feels good to finally say that.
Both are fun, however CS:GO is basically a CS:S spinoff with slightly more detailed geometry work in the maps, and different texturing mixed with some horrible L4D2 matchmaking and limited player amounts/ no skill involved in the gunplay. I mean fuck, come on even Call of duty has SSAO and other graphical features.

It's my mission to becoming an actually competent CS player before the end of the closed beta.
Both are fun, however CS:GO is basically a CS:S spinoff with slightly more detailed geometry work in the maps, and different texturing mixed with some horrible L4D2 matchmaking and limited player amounts/ no skill involved in the gunplay. And what's your reasoning for saying it has "no skill"? I mean fuck, come on even Call of duty has SSAO and other graphical features.
They probably would have just added new features to CS:S if the CS fanbase wasn't so whiney and unpleasable.

Annoyingly we live in an age where whenever a new game comes out people will find ways to flak and poke at it. I get annoyed reading people who have played the game and haven't say, a big claim I keep seeing is there is no recoil, it's consolised, ugly and the models and animations look horrible, which = a big flop of a game. People keep ignoring the fact that is a BETA, an early one at that.
Even the engines shitty graphics? Nope.
I meant everything gameplay related.. When it comes to CS games, graphics have never been a massive concern. 1.6 is still the most played game on Steam (afaik). Honestly, who cares that its on the Source engine?
I've played since the 1.6 days (though still suck at CS in general :v:) and am really looking forward to CSGO. I wish I had a key :C

CS:GO has shit gameplay and shit graphics so its disqualified. They should reintroduce AS_ maps, thats the only way they would get me to buy this shit.
Figured I'd dump some pictures from the game. It's pretty for a Source game. As for how the game plays, it's pretty fun. Lots of people say it reminds them of 1.6, personally I think it reminds me of Source, so I dunno. There's this one obnoxious movement bug where you can strafe side to side and move faster than you normally could, but hopefully that will be fixed.
a CT holding a molotov looks wierd,
It's practically an alpha and you're judging it
Then why are they calling it a beta.
Then why are they calling it a beta.
Why did DICE call the BF3 demo a beta?
Why did DICE call the BF3 demo a beta?
For marketing purposes?
For marketing purposes?
Well there's your answer..
Well there's your answer..
Except its a closed beta, therefor eliminating most media outlets.
Nope? Plus I'm fairly sure valve would send one to you if you were a nice respectable news outlet.
Rockpapershitgun are a reputable and respectable, nice and unbias news outlet.
ported l4d2 skins to csgo, much better, especially the deagle.
Do you even know the difference between a model and skin? :v:
I can't usually tell. Do the gun viewmodels look a little "uber-close-to-camera" like some people say they do in L4D2 and Portal 2?
reminds me of this
I'm okay with that. Just as an FYI, if you have ANY problems with the CS:GO beta's gameplay, Valve is 100% receptive to it. The direction of the game is in our hands, literally. But keep in mind that the game was tested prior to the current "closed beta" by a decent number of pro CS players. They had their own private forum and private build, and they were beta testing before any of us were. So if you think the gameplay is "dumbed down," talk to them and ask their opinion.
