"Scary faceless guy in a forest: Source"
Could be a nameless monster with a different name for the game.
Slender is the scariest indie game ever ? Yeah right.
Too bad its quite boring.
Implying Slender was the Scariest thing to grace our screens. Also Co-op? I'll pass.
AoM: DC is scary, but it's a very cheap scary. It uses A LOT of jump scares.
I find it extremely hard to be scared in games because I know its a game, and that I can always respawn and try again, knowing what to expect. If a game was made where if you die, you start at the very beginning again (a la DayZ) where it makes you afraid of dying. Its a shitty gameplay mechanic but its the only way I can really get scared in games.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/slender-source/videos "devs play cry of fear" the fuck does that have to do with the mod. they removed the video..
Up next, "devs play underhell" and "devs play aberration." Maybe upload these playthoughs to Youtube instead of your ModDB account.

If multiplayer would be Slender and the survivor only, without any chat or extra multiplayer hud, it would be scarier.
Problem with Slender was that while the atmosphere and buildup was great, once you spotted slenderman it stopped being scary entirely. Then you where just walking around a dark area where you sometimes had to turn around because your screen was fucking up. All he does is stand there and he is incredibly predictable.
I was never ever scared during Amnesia. It's overhyped as fuck.

overhyped as fuck

overhyped
As compared to slender, right?
If this got popular I'm pretty sure Valve would make the devs remove the lambda symbol and rename it so it's not confused as one of their products, like they did with the Black Mesa mod.
Right, take one of the Scariest games where you play by yourself so you feel alone and stranded... And make it multiplayer. FUCKING GENIUS.
Right, take one of the Scariest games where you play by yourself so you feel alone and stranded... And make it multiplayer. FUCKING GENIUS.
Slender wasn't scary.
I like the slender myths. If the mod does come out I'll be willing to give it a try. Just make the slender model high quality than the other game.

How can an horror game be multiplayer? I understand L4D and RE have multiplayer because they have action but unless they make the players be in each edge of the map I don't understand how can it be scary.
Right, take one of the Scariest games-
HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAA
Action horror maps work because it adds a sense of security when with friends that can be easily broken if they lose eachother or one dies. In a game like this, though, it's not going to work whatsoever. You just know that rather than being terrified, the people in chat will be saying shit like "yo slendanigga what the fuck up where you at busta" and just enjoying it and having fun more than being scared.
HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAA
I dislike this type of behaviour so badly. Its a perfect example of ~*~so edgy~*~. Sure, once you learn the actual game, Slender stops being a little scary, once you realize how the slenderman moves, all the locations, ect, ect, its pretty easy to not get scared. but if you play it the first time with the mindset that its a scary game, it is a very scary game. Its simple, but still scary.
I found it scary.

Its simple, but still scary.
Oh for fucks sake, I'm not being edgy, I played it and found it to be nothing but boring. I'm typically a pussy when it comes to scary games. I love a good scare. I can't bring myself to beat Penumbra or Amnesia. But Slender was just bad. My first time playing it, I laughed when I saw the slenderman. I went into expecting it to be nightmare inducing, around midnight, lights out, noise-cancelling headphones on. Game starts and I'm in an awful looking forest, but I let that slide. I loved SCP containment breach, and its an awful looking game (though to be fair, I wouldn't call that game scary either). I wandered around finding... pages... for god knows what reason. After stumbling around for a while with no Slenderman in sight, I found myself bored , not in suspense. I was actually hoping to find the slenderman... And when i finally found him, I fucking burst out laughing, the model they used was so damn bad,I found it funny. that's not a good thing to do in a horror game. Bottom line is, there was nothing that scared me in the least. I never felt the tension it was obviously trying to create. It was cheap. The only scares it had were petty jump scares where you turn around and UH OH!, HE'S RIGHT BEHIND YOOOOOU! JUST STANDING THERE! WATCH OUT THE TELEVISION SCREENS YOU REPLACED YOUR EYES WITH ARE GETTING FUZZY! BETTER JUST CASUALLY WALK THE OTHER WAY! The environment was not only ugly, but bland with nothing interesting, just a forest at night, the goal was a joke and left me uninterested, and the slenderman himself was just a HUGE letdown not only in his appearance, but his behavior. Overall, no. It is not a very scary game, by any stretch. It was boring. It was a game that tried to be 2spoky4u but just failed completely. I was upset, I thought it'd have potential, but it dropped the ball. It doesn't fucking help that the only time you hear anyone actually getting SCARED by this game is when people like fucking pewdiepie make a video where they have a fake conniption at the mere fucking sight of the slenderman, and then everyone suddenly won't shut up about how spooky the fucking game is.
Slender wasn't scary.
No but Silent Hill was and look: http://silenthill.wikia.com/wiki/Silent_Hill:_Book_of_Memories But its Wayfoward and the game is just a Spin off so its gonna a good game, notice I said it will be a good 'game' that doesn't mean its going to be a good Silent Hill game by any means.

Resident Evil was considered scary, doesn't mean official porn would be 2spooky. This isn't even by the same devs.
Okay, new mod feature: You're walking around in the woods with your friend, when suddenly, the mod turns your friend to look like Slender. And your friend views your playermodel as a naked chick.

Who said text/voice chat was going to be globalized? 2. We've already got spawns working perfectly...I don't know why you assumed we didn't. 3. When have you heard someone ever act like that in slender? Most of the playthroughs I watch have people getting genuinely scared at the end of it.
So I just went and gave Slender a try, and I gotta say Im not impressed. There really is nothing to the game, no point (besides collecting pointless notes on random ass places) which make it boring and then you are pretty much just waiting to find Slendy. Graphics are poor, and with next to no gameplay to back it up it is boring. I hope that you guys will make it more interesting, actually adding a back story or something with depth to it.
We get you guys don't think it was scary. It's a small indy game. Not some huge fucking campaign like Amnesia. The fact that they're adding more and making it multiplayer seems like a huge improvement to me.

Give Slenderman a power where it makes one of your teammates appear to be him (only occurring when nobody is looking at said teammate), causing you to run away quickly and be separated. Give someone friends to co-operate with in the game and it'll make them feel safer. Rip that feeling away from them suddenly when you trick them into separating, and it'll have a hell of an effect.
