sp614x, the maker of the OptiFine mod, recommends allocating less memory (only 256 MB) to MC because it has too much allocated to it by default and it can get dumped to page file, which hurts the performance. Can anyone else back him up on this? When I tried it, I could only get it down to 512 before the launcher completely failed to do anything useful. And then I could only take one or two screenshots before it spat out an error message and failed to take any more. If 512 is too low, can anyone else recommend a better value? I'm running MC in a maximized window on a 1080p display with a slightly tweaked default 16x16 texture pack, btw. He also recommends using the latest Java 7 dev previews. I'm running build 10 and it's running alright. Has anyone else tried this and noticed a significant improvement? I'm not observant enough and MC was already running well enough that I didn't really notice a difference...
It would be annoying as shit if they kept the damage because if you get surrounded than you will be bounced around and killed way to easily. I just think that zombies should have their own specialty which would be strength in numbers. Instead of just a useless grunt-like mob.
But I want to be killed easily. The game is way to easy and if you have a brain you would be able to keep the zombies funneled into one path. Also: I think my flatland generation brokeited.
"Snoooorre. Boating's so boring. Hey, what's that in the GPS?" [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/fyf2E.png[/thumb] "Oh dear, this doesn't look too goo-" [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/UoHlx.png[/thumb] TL;DR I somehow went from ocean to death-by-ravine.
This is getting weird, some chunks are normal world chunks and some are flatlands. In large numbers the zombies will circle you and close in thus, surrounding you. Once you are surrounded you will die pretty fast, so you can kill them easily but when you are faced against a horde of 10 or so then danger will ensue.

The water is so clear I didn't even notice it haha.
Heh. I've been understanding redstone a lot more recently, having built a automatic archery range with popup targets and a crossing gate for a minecraft track
Can someone link me to that program that generates chunks in a world for you so you don't have to generate them while you're playing the world?
Can someone link me to that program that generates chunks in a world for you so you don't have to generate them while you're playing the world?
What's the point of that?
They need sounds for minecarts.
What's the point of that?
So the server doesn't lag while generating chunks
-snip- Ninja
They need sounds for minecarts.
They have sounds for minecarts, they're just not implemented because the sound system doesn't support moving sound sources. So the minecart would leave its sound effect behind as soon as it moves.

Well I'll be damned, Kinniken, the creator of millenaire had finally gave in and made the mod use Forge's sprite api, now we can actually play millenaire with other mods, amazing.
Wow after the third time seeing that image, their is actually water there. The water is so clear I didn't even notice it haha.
What water mod is it, I know it's been asked around but I'm a lazy fuck to searchm
What water mod is it, I know it's been asked around but I'm a lazy fuck to searchm
GLSL Shaders, I think.
What water mod is it, I know it's been asked around but I'm a lazy fuck to searchm
The one I use is this: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/542215-110-water-shader-alpha-v4d/page__hl__water+shader But prepare your computer, it takes a lot to run it.
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/542215-110-water-shader-alpha-v4d/ First result when you google minecraft water shaders. [editline]Damn you, damn you all[/editline] Damn you, damn you all
Do waterfalls still look like poo
The waterfalls don't look that bad, atleast they didn't when I was playing with this mod, and believe me, I have played minecraft with this mod for a long time now.
Could someone put a drag and drop together of a BuildCraft server for me? I can't seem to get mine to work.
Could someone put a drag and drop together of a BuildCraft server for me? I can't seem to get mine to work.
Yeah, I noticed there are a few things that don't exactly work even if you follow the instructions. First off, install ModLoaderMP, then Forge. Then, copy the Modloader.class file into the server jar again. I don't know why they didn't list that in the instructions, but whatever. Then you need to download some fixes, namely these:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/8gqgt9ugkxcmono/Forge_1.3.1_Server_Block_Break_Fix.zip http://www.mediafire.com/file/1cmd8tmcv9o669h/Forge_1.3.1_Server_ModLoader_Class_Fix.zip slap em in the server jar
Then, place all your Buildcraft zips in the /mods directory, it should be in the same folder as the server jar. Now you should be all set. Let me know if it works, I wasted a couple days slamming my head against a wall until I found out about these fixes :v:
Play it for the player that's in a cart?
That would be a partial implementation, but they obviously wanted all or nothing, otherwise they would've already done that. That might also conflict with music, since music is played for the player, and I don't know if more than one player sound can exist.
