Hunting rifle hasn't got shit on the gobi-campaign scout rifle.
Once you get 100 lockpick, it's so worth it. Also, I'm thinking about leveling up on Melee Weapons and Unarmed weapons. Which weapons of these categories would be best to use?

You know what would revive the modding community? Adding New Vegas to the Steam Workshop.
You know what would revive the modding community? Adding New Vegas to the Steam Workshop.
Even if NV doesn't get added - and I doubt it does - the next Fallout probably will.
NV better get added to the Steam Workshop, then I wont ever visit the Nexus again.
About about mods that require FOSE?
About about mods that require FOSE?
What? Do you mean FOMODs? Most of the big mods with FOMOD installs will probably never make it onto the workshop without a major change in the standard launcher format that has been used in past Fallout and Elder Scrolls games. I'm surprised Bethesda didn't take the opportunity to overhaul Skyim's launcher into even the most basic mod manager. Actually I'm not. Bethesda can get a little careless/lazy about these sorts of things in the end.
No I mean the Fallout Script Extender.
Well...what about them? There's no problem uploading and using mods on the workshop that require SKSE at the moment in skyrim, so I assume the same situation would apply here would it not? Or am I completely misunderstanding you?
Hey, I know the PNP stopped, but what happened is this. I had to go on vacation for two weeks, told everyone, when I came back, I couldn't get everyone together, and they were out of it. So guess what, we're back baby! Starting hopefully this saturday if we can get enough people. PM me for details. I'll even make a deal, if we get too many people for one session/too many who cant make it (timezone issues, etc) Ill make a sunday session... Based off of 'Aloha Smoothskin'

Wait, this is a mod, right? I'm a bit confused.
If I could put a scope on This Machine, I wouldn't bother with using anything else.
There's a mod that adds a moddable normal version called a Service Rifle. Does about 20dmg less but you can make that up with psycho if you want, and you can fit a scope. I think there's also another mod that lets you scope This Machine itself. Personally, I just run a mod that adjust the irons a bit, if I need to snipe something farther out I grab my AMR.

[editline]21st February 2012[/editline] And if you guys DO do it, record the logs. I'd love to read it. I'd want to be a part of it but it all seems kind of complex for me.

I really want to play Fallout 3 but I can't get into it. Not because it lacks compared to NV (which it does, but I modded the fuck out of it so it's alright) but it's just so pathetically easy. I never get less than half health, even in massive fights. I've barehandedly killed Deathclaws, I have thousands of bullets of every type, tens of thousands of caps... I just can't get into it when every enemy is comparable to a radroach.

I think most FO3 mods are compatible with NV anyways since the engines are more-less the same; the largest limiting factor is the fact that you don't have the NPCs, map, etc from Fallout 3 which causes mods to be largely nonfunctional, but I can't say anything for sure. For example, I actually directly ported Mothership Zeta to my NV game a while ago while only changing some masters around so it didn't require the Fallout 3 ESM and it functioned with a few bugs here and there (probably due to the fact I used coc to get there instead of going there the legitimate way) until I got to the big lobby room where I couldn't continue because I couldn't get the guys to follow me.
I want elevator shoes, pimp shades, a pimp stick (cane), along with all of the other pimp attire. I would be "Alabaster Jones."
I.B Bangin'
what is even happening in this thread anymore aside from all that speculation that is going nowhere (no, i was never taught to read threads)
People talking about fallout in hawaii, and a big mutated whale, and thats about it..
Well, you could try Requiem for the Wasteland and use any NV mods that make the game harder.
Assuming he can get it to work. I've tried six times now to get it to work and so far I've only managed to horribly break it. The instructions aren't any help either, following either set ends up with a game that barely starts at all. God it would be nice to get it to work though. Crack the GECK open and you'll find references for Vault 112, James, all the assets for most of the weapons are still present and could be easily reassembled, many of the NPC vendor chests still exist, and all the industrial and office assets were flat out reused. Bit lazy, but Obsidian was on a schedule, so they had to make do. If you wanted to fix this, find a suitable spot out in Bumfuck, Mojave and set up the same scripts that activated out in the Capitol Wasteland. If you have wild wasteland on your characters you can even use the alien mothership that spawns up in the northwest. You will have to have both GECKs open to do this, though.
until I got to the big lobby room where I couldn't continue because I couldn't get the guys to follow me.
Another relatively easy fix in theory. The Fallout 3 companions lack the companion wheel NV has, which is going to cause issues and may be why their AI is bugging out.

Then, Requiem came out so I thought it'd probably be useless then. The whole Mothership Zeta thing was just a test to see if it could actually work if I tried.

In New Vegas, I am always out of stimpaks, low on ammo, and low on health. Either its stats, or that NV is definitely harder.
The Gobi-Campaign rifle may have a flashy paint job, but the hunting rifle is a classic. It's iconic.
I just find the Gobi-Campaign rifle more unique, while being much more effective. Hunting rifles are classic, yes, but everyone uses them. I like to have some identity. I guess I'm just a wasteland hipster, strutting around in my pre-war relaxed wear and wearing my eye glasses.
Well I've got to carry on playing this gem. Going to finally finish FNV

It's little things but it really adds up.
No one's PMed yet? Come on, you guys were all drooling over the idea of Aloha Smoothskin, and now no one wants to play the closest thing to it we'll get (because I doubt they could pull off a full game in Hawaii, and we don't have enough modders here to get it done) Just PM me if interested at all, and Ill help you get started, even if you've never played a PNP in your life, Ill hold a practice session just to teach you and anyone else interested.

FP's got a lot of diversity, and that diversity would no doubt help in making Aloha Smoothskin. If it's any help with making it I just discovered today I can do a really good impersonation of Blind Diode Jefferson from OWB
