The Isometric view is one of the things that made Fallout the way it was, along with its combat, its art style, its very dark comedy, its atmosphere. How would people react if Blizzard made Diablo 3 into a FPS, the backlash would be insane.
It doesn't have to be a FPS. It could be a Mass Effect (1) style game, just the same but with fluid combat instead of turn based and a dynamic camera instead of isometric. Maybe KOTOR would be a better example. [editline]1st March 2012[/editline]
Also why does the DC wasteland need to be so brown 200 years after the bombs drop... Some greenery here and there would have made the game a lot cooler.
Greenworld + Enhanced Weather + Fellout made Fallout 3 amazing and immersive.
I'm playing JE Sawyers mod for hardcore mode, don't you dare complain about vanilla hardcore mode.
Im all for an immersive challenge, but not when its just tedious and annoying as fuck. Just flat out inconvenience is not fun. Why do I play games? For a good time.

Still though everybody acts like its a desert still and that cant really be changed.

[editline]29th February 2012[/editline] Guys what should the next thread be called?
if anyone wants to make the night super scarey, get the darker nights mod + real 4 eyes mod and if you don't have glasses you basically have blurry vision, plus it's dark as fuck
Fallout Series Thread V11: It's 106 miles to Arroyo, we've got a full fusion cell, half a pack of RadAway, it's midnight, and I'm wearing a 50 year old Vault 13 jumpsuit. Let's hit it. See how many of the words will fit in the title :v:

Obviously re-installing, knowing that there are more mods out there.
I remember there being a proper shaders mod. Anyone got a link?
if anyone wants to make the night super scarey, get the darker nights mod
Unnecessary. Fellout's nights are literally so dark you can't see your own gun, and they make the days look better too.
And spoiling. Just saying.
You had 15 years to play Fallout 1. 15.
You had 15 years to play Fallout 1. 15.
Not to mention that you learn about it in the first or second hour of the game.
You had 15 years to play Fallout 1. 15.
Well , i'm 16 , so how the hell should've i played it as i was 1 years old ? :v: That's joke, read some posts bellow before rating me dumb please
Well , i'm 16 , so how the hell should've i played it as i was 1 years old ? :v:
Time travel... Durrrr
Well , i'm 16 , so how the hell should've i played it as i was 1 years old ? :v:
Well, I'm 16, and the first time I played it was... three years ago, I think?
Well, I'm 16, and the first time I played it was... three years ago, I think?
Anyway, that was just a joke, i have played both fallout games. Gotta find fallout tactics (my father had it somewhere)
Anyway, that was just a joke, i have played both fallout games. Gotta find fallout tactics (my father had it somewhere)
Man, Tactics is fun. I wish it had a speech system though. Whose fucking idea was to axe the speech system in a Fallout game, anyway?
Whenever I play Fallout 2 the graphics are all messed up, purple everywhere, the game doesn't fit screen resolution and I can't find the options to set it. What do? :v:
Whenever I play Fallout 2 the graphics are all messed up, purple everywhere, the game doesn't fit screen resolution and I can't find the options to set it. What do? :v:
Personalize dekstop to one color, and open screen resolution window. Now start the fallout. Success.

Shouldn't there be a new thread? It's a new month right?
You had 15 years to play Fallout 1. 15.
Never said that I never played it. I beat 1 and 2 multiple times, I just thought it would be polite to the people who say "so hey guys I just got Fallout 1..." [editline]1st March 2012[/editline] ninja'd hardcore
Speaking of the res patch, I think that (or the Restoration project more likely) cased a weird glitch in my game. I can literally not use any type of rifle. When I equip it in the slot it doesn't let me select it. If it has ammo it still shows that little bar under the weapon picture that indicates a rough ammo estimate and I can unload them fine, but there is no option to shoot them. Pistols work fine but no rifles, not even a BB gun, will let me shoot. Any ideas?
It's only customary to spoilerify game details if the game's only been out a year or two. After 15 years that custom no longer applies. that's just how it works, broseph.
[t]http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/images/2672-1-1231593692.jpg[/t] That lack of brown
Hehe, I love it. I don't play either game without it. For some reason Obsidian, despite bragging about not using that filter in new vegas, used that filter as well. Made everything fucking orange. Fellout to the rescue yet again!
I had darker nights + real 4 eyes mod and ended up staying under an old street light the whole night, firing at anything near
And you still don't need it. Fellout's nights are just as dark. I'm being literal when I say it gets dark enough that you can't see your own fucking gun at night. On top of that it removes the green haze from the skies during the daytime, which makes the game look three years newer all on it's own.
I really wish there was a mod for random roaming ghoul attacks, that shit was crazy enough as it is.
Mart's Mutant Mod is a good start. It doesn't add roaming NPCs by default, but honestly I doubt the game engine could handle mobs roaming the wasteland as I assume you're looking for. Not only that but NPCs in Fallout all have horrible ADHD, they would get ten feet and engage something.
