What a dumbass. [editline]08:33PM[/editline] Hey look at that! I just summed up all his comments in three words!
I told HIM off for DOING that in one of his GAME REVIEWS.
ASSUME CONTROL of HIS GAMING REVIEW! USE the OMNI-GEL!
Can someone make me a tl;dr summary?
Yes it does, after you close a game there's almost always a silly "update news" window coming up with riveting information about some new boring indie game that you're never going to buy.
you can disable them!
And btw: someone should show him this little "Go Offline..."-button inside the Steam Menu.... you know, to go offline even when the PC is online.
This guy's either a troll or an idiot or both. Ignore him.
I actually adore Steam. I think It's really good. Well, I say that almost a lie. When Half Life 2 was first released, I hated it, but that's because I was running on a quite old computer, but the specs were good enough to still run TF2/Gmod9/Portal. I thought it was really slow and I hated it. Now ever since I've got a new computer (Last year), a faster internet connection (Started at 4mbps, free upgrade to 10mbps and then a new package with 20mbps :D) and a new graphics card (Nvidia 9600GSO), my computing and steam experience has been better ever since. The best thing I like about it is you have one program for everything, instead of running Xfire. I have all my friends, what they're playing, I can chat to them, send them PM's, and use steam like MSN/WL. It's much better than MSN/WL (WL = Windows Live) and really, I love it.
You can play offline and you can disable automatic updates. Two minus things removed from that list. I actually like steam. Especially I like "friends" tab.
This dumbass is dumb
We should summon the Steam Army to his front door.
We should summon the Steam Army to his front door.
The Steam forums..They can make someone End themselves
The Steam forums..They can make someone End themselves

We should summon the Steam Army to his front door.
No. If you want to tell him what you think, just leave a comment on one of his reviews (a recent one). Post his response as well - it will surely be amusing.
This guy needs to get laid ASAP.

*shakes head* why do people like this have to exist?
Borderlands one was true.
"Well, borderlands is not even good." [/rage]
I laughed.
Oh god. One of those people who whine about EA games and Westwood on the internet.
He's not a scientist, he's not a doctor, he's not even a full-time employee. How did his life went so wrong?
he's playing devil's advocate to the voice of the majority. the scary, frustrating or anger inducing thing about it...is that he's actually right. steam, and by proxy valve really are an unscrupulous bunch. i don't say this out of resentment or scorn, but as an observation. their marketting methods and the type of products they produce AND develop are nothing short of brilliant ways to deprive adolescents out of their savings and allowance. this is a reality in most developed countries. we are a consumer based economy. and valve is simply playing its role. steam being an effective facilitator. i mean the quote you used as a title. is that not exactly what happens when you do something against the eula? these games you supposedly own are in fact leased. they have the right to take control any time. if you sell a steam account, oops, those aren't actually our games, they're valves. and now you don't get to have 'em. these rules are the result of lack of consumer laws regarding video games. valve is taking advantage of ths situation for the sole prupose of profit. you think they make these rules to benefit you? don't kid yourself.
Maybe he's bitching about the DRMs because he's a pirate?
lolololololololol get a faster connection and it'll u[pdate quicker, besides, i like it when i get a tf2 update
A TF2 multiplayer platformer (ala New Super Mario Bros Wii) would be pretty cool :buddy:
Oh...my....gawd. I don't even know what to say. He...it's...god dammit what a moron.
A man can bitch whatever he wants, but most people accept DRM as long as it's non-intrusive and doesn't degrade the quality of the product.
He's got a point about SecuROM though. When it was in the Sims 2 there was cases of it blowing or disabling motherboards and graphics cards due to their drivers

Some of his points are right, you just don't want to agree with him. The issue with Steam I can relate to, once you buy a game you can only really use it with Steam unless you do shady things (more so with steam cloud games, third party games not by Valve can sometimes be played without Steam), so if you're offline you can't really play anything unless you were online beforehand. I'm sure that depends on the game, and I've never really had a problem with it. That's a key statement, a lot of people have never really had to deal with the stated problems, so why look at his point of view? My Steam account had been disabled for something in Steam Community yet every single one of my games, made by Valve or some other developers were 'taken away'. Only way to get them back? Something illegal. Not all pirates do what they do because they can, because they "have to". Not saying I've ever done anything illegal to get access to the games I've bought OR that I'm complaining because I've done neither, I did what I did and got what I got even though It's ridiculous in my opinion. Gasp, I must be an idiot or a troll because I don't think Steam is good, or that DRM in a game should be factored into the opinion on it. DRM, that big bad nasty acronym, is a part of the game. If DRM is terrible (Looking at you Ubisoft) the game *can* be terrible too, because, you know, you have to deal with it while playing. It's your money, are you getting what you paid for?
Can someone make me a tl;dr summary?
I am a retard with a thing named Neurosomething and instead of doing that i rage about how steam and game companies fail.(note i didn't read dat wall of text this is from da comments)
