do you mean the SUPAH DUPAH ROCKIT LAWNCHAIR is better because it has two barrels along with almost no recoil and is quickly reloaded?
Erm, its a recoiless rifle of course it has no recoil, despite what games like COD think rocket launchers dont have much recoil.
Erm, its a recoiless rifle of course it has no recoil, despite what games like COD think rocket launchers dont have much recoil.
no it's a rocket launcher, it fires rockets, a recoiless rifle would be like The Carl Gustav that fires cannon shells.
no it's a rocket launcher, a recoiless rifle would be a handheld cannon like The Carl Gustav.
Oh shit it is isn't it. Never mind my bad. But my point still stands rocket launchers dont have much recoil, its not like its going to fly out your hand from shooting it.
Erm, its a recoiless rifle of course it has no recoil, despite what games like COD think rocket launchers dont have much recoil.
Since when do rocket launchers have recoil in CoD games? Never noticed any recoil before. Rocket Launchers DON'T have recoil in real life.
Highway 17 is probably the closest thing, considering how large and open it is, though it's still pretty linear.
Highway 17 was pretty fun. It was my favorite chapter. I wish it was longer though. I loved driving the car along that highway and having the option of stopping by the old towns and buildings. [editline]14th January 2011[/editline] Page 35 is a lie!
This thread is amazing but goddamn you people post so fast I can't keep up!
This thread is amazing but goddamn you people post so fast I can't keep up!
I'll take that as a compliment.
All this thread is doing is making me want to play Halo CE.
All this thread is doing is making me want to play Halo CE.
You should do a melee and plasma pistol only run.
You should do a melee and plasma pistol only run.
Hmm sounds fun, shame the plasma pistol is godlike in CE.
In a world, 500 years from now. Sidearms outclass assault weapons. :v:
Hmm sounds fun, shame the plasma pistol is godlike in CE.
Really? I always thought it was one of the most ineffective guns in the game. The human pistol on the other hand...
Really? I always thought it was one of the most ineffective guns in the game.
Oh god no, its like 3 shots to kill a grunt, 6 for an elite. Shit is crazy, sucked in 2, 3 and odst but in CE and Reach its awesome.
Boop.
I love you. [editline]14th January 2011[/editline] ps how did the half life discussion start anyway? was there a thread on bungie messageboards or something? (can't be bothered to rummage through 35+ pages that are quickly growing)
Oh god no, its like 3 shots to kill a grunt, 6 for an elite. You know, where you sucker-punch the enemy with your super-soldier fist?
I'm suggesting it more because of its awesome melee animation. You know, where you sucker-punch the enemy with your super-soldier fist?
True dat.
I guess it's okay in Campaign, but in multiplayer it is pretty useless.
The halo 1 plasma pistols and rifles were great throughout the game, although I always preferred an assault rifle or shotgun against the flood.
Really? I always thought it was one of the most ineffective guns in the game. The human pistol on the other hand...
in CE you can fire off the plasma pistol almost faster than the assault rifle and that's saying a lot because the assault rifle sprays shit everywhere [editline]14th January 2011[/editline]
You should do a melee and plasma pistol only run.
i do that online but on reach cuz i can sprint lol
in CE you can fire off the plasma pistol almost faster than the assault rifle
Funny enough the CE AR had the highest rate of fire of all of them around about 900 rounds a minute. Comapred to the Halo Reachs 550 rounds.
Intricate web of gameplay mechanics? You mean alternating between cutscenes, puzzles and linear corridors of 10 health enemies?
If that's the way you think of Half-Life, then Halo is nothing but walking through identical, symmetrical corridors, doing nothing but mowing down aliens. Yeah, blowing things out of proportion doesn't work.

Yeah, blowing things out of proportion doesn't work.
i must say that i completely agree with you, but half life pretty much did the same thing, and they did it worse i mean think of the cartographer level, huge open spaces make me go :v: and you have to admit, the open levels in half life were either 5 minute jaunts through confined boxyard spaces with open roofs and chain link fences on all sides, 10x10 squares of desert with a road and some guards and trucks, or xen though, the game was made in 1998 so HUGE WIDE OPEN CANYONS WITH MANY DIFFERENT ENEMIES were kind of beyond the limits at the time [editline]14th January 2011[/editline]
Oh shit it is isn't it.
Halo is amazing in nearly every way. I can honestly say that everything Half-Life 2 does Halo does twice as good. It's amazingly popular for a reason. Now I haven't really played the original, but it's from the "last generation" of shooters. The last generation almost (almost) being defined as anything pre-Halo. It upped the quality bar that much.
Halo is a generic, monotonous, linear, repetitive, Sci-Fi first person shooter. The game puts you in the shoes of Master Chief, a generic super soldier with no personality, or intelligent dialogue, other than a few cheesy one-liners. You spend most of the game walking through identical, symmetrical corridors, mowing down some colourful looking aliens, with sub-par weapons. You are told that you are a super soldier, but this obviously does not affect the gameplay in any way, as you can die from the most ridiculous things (such as being hit by a pylon.) The story is the typical one of humans coming into contact with an alien race, and there being a giant super weapon etc. etc. This is told through generic cutscenes, with very little character development, and very little sense of urgency. The multiplayer is the reason Halo is popular, and I would argue that there are much better choices. Overall, I don't see how Halo is 'amazing in every way.'
above poster is awesome

And these days, all rocket launchers only require one person to to use. (I was watching a thing about the evolution of rocket launchers on the Military Channel today)
i agree but i also say that applies to half life and you can't disagree because deep inside you know it's true
i agree but i also say that applies to half life and you can't disagree because deep inside you know it's true
Yes. I KNOW IT'S TRUE. [editline]14th January 2011[/editline]
In a world, 500 years from now. Sidearms outclass assault weapons. :v:
And this my friends, is why humanity is screwed.
Halo is a generic, monotonous, repetitive, Sci-Fi first person shooter, putting you in the shoes of Master Chief, a generic super soldier with no personality, or intelligent dialogue, other than a few cheesy one-liners.
