"Thanks for the support, and don't worry, we're working on it"
Well it would be the first time in years that they would mention that they are actually working on it. I call that a win Since 2008 (I think) to this date they never said that they are working on half life... actually, we dont even know if it's in development or not!
we dont even know if it's in development or not!
hnnnnnnnnnng

Granted, they didn't say exactly that, but after they responded to a direct question like that, thinking that they "Might not be developing it yet" is naive as hell.
Reading the OP, I just had a thought occur to me. What if Valve did what I see quite a few games that are story-driven do nowadays, and they make us make a choice? Side with Eli and destroy the thing in the Borealis, or side with Kleiner and keep it intact to study and/or use? What would you guys do?

Anyone seen this? I think this will go good in Episode 3: For those who dunno what it is, its a Panther Eye, a HL1 Beta alien that was Scrapped for some stupid reason, but it was actually a good idea IMO. Maybe it could be remade in EP3 or HL3. [sp]image shamelessly stolen from Half Life Wiki since google images is a bitch to use to find it [/sp]

I'd need to know more about that thing in the Borealis to make a decision.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nq5EnEa7Mg8 Super old gold
One of the greatest inspirations of Half-life machinima for its time.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nq5EnEa7Mg8 Super old gold
Oh god I remember that. That video is still awesome.

The change in setting is a good excuse for them to add something new, too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nq5EnEa7Mg8 Super old gold
This got me into Breaking Benjamin, they're still one of my favorite bands.

I think some enemies were "cut" from HL1 (or HL2) because they were simply not interesting (in Valve's eye) to make it in the game... So, don't expect to see Mr.Friendly, Kingpin, Panther Eye, or Stukabat, Cremators... in other places than some mods... (Panther Eye appears in Azure Sheep and Point of View). I mean, you know how work Valve : they can create a super "cool" enemy/boss (visually), but if they find their creation "boring", they just cut it up. That's their way. HL2 : Raising the Bar + Marc Laidlaw Vault (on SPUF) are two interesting databases on how much content was completly scrapped. We still have the "chance" to have the cut content in free access, at least -_- (Personally, I still miss that giant "Antlion King"... That would have been a cool boss battle, maybe Gonarch-style... Since the HL2 era, "boss battles" are nearly non-existent, besides some generic enemy becoming suddenly "special"... (like the Strider in the end of Ep1, and the StriderS in the end of Ep2).
Now that the creator of the HL CFC has fallen into madness and developed a messiah complex, here is the official website of the HL CFC (WTF...) : www.messagetovalve.com And another poster : [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/34147052/RLD.png[/t] Next time, don't miss the official HL CFC mug, T-shirt, and stickers. There'll be also a McDonald's menu, with Gman-shaped french fries, McAlyx Burger, Breen-shake, and other goodies!

Press the button in his back, and hear such quotes as: "-Mr Freeee-maaan!" "-Is it really that, TIME again?" "-We'll SEE about THAT!" "-Prepare... For unforeseen... Consequenses!"

Still, you cant deny the Panther Eye looks awesome, if the Valve developers were going to reimplement a cut alien into the series, it better be either the Panther Eye or the Bullsquid. The Panther Eye really looks like it could fit if placed correctly, too. It feels very reminiscent of the Vortigaunts with its big giant eye. Maybe they both lived on the same planet a long time ago?
All I can say about Episode 3 is that Gabe took away my copy.
I wish there were more people playing HL2:DM. Anyways every time I see this thread it makes me go play Half Life 2 for a couple of hours.
HL2:DM Or Get The Revolver Or Crossbow Before Others Frag Fest.

Pyro is the 9th Class on wikipedia, Episode 3 would be Valve's 9th game. Pyro is the 3rd class in the list. Meet the Pyro is coming. Episode 3
