I've meant the E3 2011. They said they won't be at the E3 from 2011. I know that they will be at this years E3, but they already said, that they will show off Dota 2 and CS GO + Steam Big Picture.
you said "won't" as in " will not", so I thought you meant this year. Either way, why would they go to E3 to show something they've already announced AND have betas out for with thousands of participants?
Oh, I will just be happy to see how wrong lotusking is. [editline]30th April 2012[/editline] Valve won't hire a private booth to show Ep3, they will do it on public.
you said "won't" as in " will not", so I thought you meant this year.
Sorry, English isn't my native language.
Either way, why would they go to E3 to show something they've already announced AND have betas out for with thousands of participants?
The Big Picture is still new. And they only have a small private room.
you dont put out cryptic and foreboding shit like that for some speculative/rumor article. even fucking steam support put out a tweet, you're an idiot.
My bad, I didn't look far enough into it.
yeah i'm sure valve would just say " we're showing half-life 3 off at e3" in a email, its not like valve is into big reveals! especially with its biggest and MOST anticipated sequel.
Because this time, the E-Mail is real.
are you daft? I didn't say the email was fake, i'm saying valve wouldn't just just announce one of their most ANTICIPATED games in some email.
No, but sometimes it's hard for me to understand sentences. Okay, I get it.
The Big Picture is still new.
last time I checked they already displayed BPM on GDC.
I know this is probably me grasping at straws now too (and it probably doesn't make too much sense), but they don't necessarily HAVE to show off something like Episode 3/Half-Life 3 at E3, right? There are several other conventions throughout the year they can make an appearance at to show stuff like Episode 3 or Meet the Pyro, like PAX East or something. I don't know, I guess part of me just wants to remain hopeful, but as time goes on, and we continue to see no sign of Freeman, that hope is fading out quicker and quicker.

Oh man, I'm so ready for this. I have $80 and I'm going to pre-order this bitch as fast as my internet can let me.
Oh man oh god I want to believe.
I dont get the steam support tweet...what does it say about things?
It's just a reminder to follow their other twitter accounts. I don't think it has anything to do with EP3, since there's no Half-Life twitter from Valve. There are Half-Life Facebook pages, but they haven't posted anything for ages.
you dont put out cryptic and foreboding shit like that for some speculative/rumor article. even fucking steam support put out a tweet, you're an idiot.
Chill with the names, man. It's unnecessary. All Steam Support said was "Be sure to check out all the #Valve feeds." That doesn't automatically mean that something super-major is right around the corner, it's more like saying "Hey, wanna keep track of everything? Here's all the ways you can do that." Like Antimuffin said, Valve already has Dota 2, CS GO, and Steam Big Picture. Announcing HL2:EP3 at this year's E3 would really just make the entire thing overcrowded. It doesn't feel like the right time. Of course, we'd love to be proven wrong with an announcement for EP3. It'd be awesome if that happened. But there's a lot of legitimate reasons available for us to be able to assume that it won't.

I could see Valve getting worried about people going nuts when they don't/do announce HL3/EP3 in a public space.
http://orange.half-life3.com/ Hosted in Maple Valley, Washington. http://www.whois-search.com/whois/orange.half-life3.com Doesn't say when it was registered, or who by. It's obviously Valve, but the fact that it doesn't say who or when means that it's a fairly new domain. That and the fact that it redirects to "orange.half-life3.com/apache2-default/" which can happen if you don't change default settings on Apache 2 Both half-life3.com and orange.half-life3.com seem to be updating every few minutes, but orange is only a few seconds behind every time. If Valve is actively updating these urls often, it wouldn't be a bad guess to say they're planning on announcing something very soon.

Oh well then disregard what I said.
Direly hope this stuff is leading somewhere; it's been over 4 years since we last stepped into the HEV suit, and i'm hoping against hope that something rears it's head soon, or even just give a substantial hint of something in October 9th, the 5 year anniversary of the Orange Box. If the private room is legit, we can only hope there's no NDA and they can speak of what they found in there. It's been so long, and little if anything has been said. It's almost painful if you think about it.
Why do people always get so excited about meaningless shit?
Why do people always get so excited about meaningless shit?
we need to have hope so we grasp at straws in hopes of the games release [sub][sub][sub][sub]3[/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub]
Why do people always get so excited about meaningless shit?
huh a major game news network quotes a famous game in a foreboding and cryptic manner? and it's sequel has been under wraps for years? and it's highly anticipated? probably nothing
You must be new here
so could you tell me any other reason ign would post something like that then? instead of saying subtly insulting shit?
IGN has literally nothing to gain from a random twitter post hinting at HL3, they didn't link to an article, they didn't even link to some youtube video on their YT page, it was just a quote, they gain nothing from it.
To add to atlas, since dota2 is going to be f2p i'm pretty sure once the remaining "big" heroes are released the game will be released, the other smaller heroes trundling along afterwards. That could be by the end of may, or start of June.

I remain a skeptic for now.
How was HL2 announced? Was it at an E3 or did they do an ARG?
They posted this tease in Edge magazine; No text or images or anything, just that. See how it makes a 2 with the shadow? One month later they officially announced it.
I remember some of the first screenshots released were actually orange developer textured maps.
I saw 72 new posts this morning, you guys gave me a fucking heart attack.
I saw 72 new posts this morning, you guys gave me a fucking heart attack.
If Valve would announce HL3, there would be over 720 new posts. Per hour.
