http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2576354 Number 8 This was like 2 posts down from his, how did you miss it...
Source 2 was probably just an iteration (internal naming scheme) and since it talks about debugging and performance I assume that this was for the Portal 2 branch, since they added Vprof and made it work a ton better on the PS3 AKA, Portal 2 = Source2(internally)
I just want an AR3.
...But I'm British!
I got this and pretty much went "What the fuck, seriously bbc?"
I don't think this has been posted yet, after-credits Half-Life segment in this week's Zero Punctuation. Starts at 5:35. I thought it was pretty nice.
I just want an AR3.
Just go to the city, the place is riddled with them.
Someone else is going to die.
That actually made me think. Eli's death was well-written because it wasn't just there to create drama or set the tone, it was a highly effective way of advancing the narrative of both characters (Kleiner, Alyx, Mossman) and plot (Resistance falling apart, somebody having to take his place?). What other character *could* they kill to achieve a similar effect? It would need to be a character with plenty of connections to other characters and a player, and one that isn't mostly comedy relief. I think Vortigaunts are a prime target. We're building up to the finale, so I can see this species, that seems to know more about the things "behind the curtain" involving the G-Man, getting more important. They also pissed off the G-Man that, after Alyx' delivery to White Forest to relay his message, will want Freeman back like at the end of the original. We got a fair bit of characterization of different Vortigaunts throughout the game, both in the original and in Episode 2, so killing them would also emotionally correspond with a lot of characters and the player and make us realize the size of the conflict should it escalate as a setup for HL3. Certainly makes sense from a Combine perspective to kill off humanity's allies with an access to the vortessence. Not sure how they'd do it, if anyone we know is an expert at this, they are it. Maybe they will even hire one of G-Man's other mercenaries and that's how we'll get a peek behind the curtain. Also makes sense from a narrative to freshen up the "Liberating Earth" mission. The Vorts helped humanity reclaiming their homeworld. Would only make sense if we now help protect theirs. We might even get a travel to the Vortigaunt homeworld with this suggested conflict and the possible Borealis technology.
Maybe they will even hire one of G-Man's other mercenaries and that's how we'll get a peek behind the curtain.
That'd be really cool to fight an alien race's "version" of Gordon. It'd be a good chance to add some challenging enemies to the game. Challenging in the way of the female assassins in HL1 rather than the challenge of Striders or Antlion Queens.
I got this and pretty much went "What the fuck, seriously bbc?"
Me too, i'm british aswell. What the fuck is going on
What the fuck... Hopefully this video works for all the British, unless you haven't googled it already.
I'm hoping in the next installment (whether Half-life 2:Episode 3 or a new Half-life altogether) for a return of some more of the original half-life's creatures. Since the Citadel's destruction and scattering of Combine infantry forces, maybe we'll be seeing more Xen-related creatures since we're now roaming the wilderness far outside City 17. Houndeyes, bullsquids, (and maybe even some Hl beta creatures), as well as maybe even a Gargantua or Gonarch. Hopefully Valve adds plenty more substance to the next Half-life game p.s. more synths and different types of antlions are cool too
It would be pretty neat to see some of the Aliens, but not all of them though. The Gonarch is suppository a very rare specimen. Infact it's probably the last stage of the headcrab life span, which probably takes years to get to considering the life span of the average headcrab on Earth. It would be extremely hard for it to develop into a big mama.
I think Mossman will be the next to go.
I hope she's the next to go. I still don't trust her.
You know, I'll honestly be disappointed if VALVe reuses weapons and character models again. I mean sure, they wouldn't simply disappear, but since it supposedly takes place in the arctic, I at the very least expect new Combine models, and new types of weapons. If it's just an other thing for the Gravity Gun, I'll be disappointed. Also, Shepard must (!!!) come back.
Also, Shepard must (!!!) come back.
I'm sorry, but who is shepard? Are you talking about this Shepard?

Still looks badass to this day.
So we've got: IGN's tweet Gameinformer's "cover story" in their half-life playthrough Zero Punctuation's half-life thing Gabe finally talking about episode 3 I'm being optimistic even though Valve said they wouldn't announce anything at e3
I hope she's the next to go. I still don't trust her.
I've never actually thought of her to be a traitor, makes things much more interesting to think about.
I don't care how long or what the story arc is. All I know is that when Half-Life 3 releases, it's going to be the game of the year. That's why I can wait (barely).
I've never actually thought of her to be a traitor, makes things much more interesting to think about.
she did bargain a resistance leaders life to breen so he can work on the combine teleport, and only let everyone go at the last minute when breen would kill eli anyway and then she also found out about the borealis whilst being at a place where no one expected her to be at after she agreed to look after eli for alyx i think she has an obsession for teleportation, shes not exactly on anyones side and would do anything to research portal technology
The Gonarch is suppository a very rare specimen.
I can imagine why it would be rare, a Gonarch suppository would hurt like hell.

I'm going to assume the reference model was recycled, or that someone strikingly similar happened to be used for reference.
Nah, the Game of the Year will be Call of Battlefield or whatever.
To be quite honest, I wouldn't be surprised. There have been multiple instances where the most popular game won, even though it wasn't the game with the best overall quality.

Surely Mossman would be the daughter of Caroline, seeing as Caroline was young in the 50s and Mossman is only middle aged in the 00s?
wow chell must have an impressive family hierarchy shes the mother of alyx vance and also is apparently the daughter of caroline who is actually mossman and chells mother
Not to mention she's zoey's aunt!!
