My river carp can finally move :D. And more like 2-3 hourish
you're getting slow orky, that's been up for over an hour :P
I think it's Syphilis. Someone get the Mercury!
Well, it looks like my efforts (ie: a few posts) worked. Someone made two of the Colossi from Shadow of the Colossus (albeit they are made entirely of granite). They are Kuromori, the Wall Shadow and Malus, the Grand Gigas. I can post the coding if anyone is interesting in test-driving them.
Created my first custom map. HOLY SHIT, LOOK AT ALL THOSE MOUNTAINS :aaa:
Custom as in set parameters yourself? Or is there some kind of superdupereasy worldbuilderthing now?
Custom as in set parameters yourself? Or is there some kind of superdupereasy worldbuilderthing now?
It's a lot easier now, you just go to Design New World, and press e for advanced settings. Just by setting Volcanoes to a min of 10, world stop to 500, and Minimum Elevation to 10, I managed to get a massive world composed of various mountains and rolling plains. There are currently 40-50 Human towns as well, and almost equal amounts of Dwarf, Elf, and Goblin settlements :buddy:
you're getting slow orky, that's been up for over an hour :P
That's because I don't visit it as often as before release.

Or would it lag like shit with 200 towns/foresthomethings/fortresses
So would that be teh awesome for making a cool adventure mode map? Or would it lag like shit with 200 towns/foresthomethings/fortresses
There are two clusters of Human towns which display every sign of being two separate nations, possibly being an Empire. The Dwarves are clustered in the more major mountain ranges, while the Elves are almost exclusively found in an isolated area. Goblins, however, are a different story. Goblin towers dot almost every large mountain range. The thing took downright forever to create, (offloaded 20,600 units) but has a strong vibe of being an absolutely amazing map. How do I upload the image of my map?
Is it just me or are berserk dwarves not so much of a problem any more? I just let a berserk fisherdwarf loose for shits and giggles, and all she's done so far is murdered her own child, killed a dog, wounded another, and picked a fight with the local legendary wood burner. Now she's shuffling around with busted knees and getting the shit kicked out of her by passersby. I remember when berserk dwarves were close to demigods if they got loose, slaughtering everything in their path. Does anyone know if you can mod them to be more powerful?
It took me a week to figure out how to find a good location, or to add new items to the embark list. He doesn't know how to play, he's trying to say his inability to play is due to bugs.
I've witnessed the games fault and I can confirm that it is fucked up and it works completely fine for me. Now stop trying to act like you know him.
That's because they wrestle. They use their hands. Wrestling is useless in this version, so they have a hard time doing any damage.
Wrestling is actually useful in certain scenarios, if a dwarf is attacked by a dog he needs to pry its jaws apart
Or pinch its limbs off.
Or pinch it's guts, just for good measure.
So it ends, with the corridors running with blood Losing is fun!
Lets hope I get some better weapons before he has to go into combat with that!
I'd worry more about the armor.
So it ends, with the corridors running with blood Losing is fun!
What kind of traps are those, and how many?
What kind of traps are those, and how many?
Normal rock traps? Also the colors on the picture hurt my head, use the natural scheme!
The colors look normal to me.
The colors look normal to me.
I use this one, more soft to the eyes. http://magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Color_schemes#Another_natural_scheme
I really hope Toady changes the way blood/snow and stuff spreads. I hate how it gets everywhere and my dwarves don't clean it up. :saddowns: [editline]07:43PM[/editline] There's a forgotten beast composed of fire running around in my underground pools turning it all to steam. Spirit of fires have came back to haunt me. :tinfoil:
Can someone explain what I would alter to make mountains taller/larger in Custom Maps? Or, perhaps, to put Inactive Volcanoes at the edges of the mountain ranges, rather then in the center?
I'm getting pretty annoyed by the training trainee bug, where one stands in the barracks waiting and the other stands in his room with the job description "Going to doging demonstration". As soon as the waiting dwarf goes to get food or something, the other one immediately rushes to the barracks and waits for the instructor to come back. Is this a problem with my minimum number of dwarfs training being set on 1?
In order for my dwarves to train I have to set all of the military stuff to inactive.
hmm... Well, I set it back to two and its working now, I am a little concerned about how long this demonstration is going to be going on for, it seems that my leader is getting unhappy. I appointed a third to the military (I'm just getting the feel for everything) and hopefully that will take care of the two practicing forever.

You should try and schedule them downtime from training or reassign them or something.
