More importantly, when's the PC beta :smug:
December
Predicting where the enemy who just ran behind cover is a getting a shot to arc directly above him scaring the shit out of him is hilariously fun. They tend to run out into the open for some reason. Still, nothing feels better than pulling off a head shot from a ridiculous distance thanks to bullet physics. It gets hellish with 28 players, do you really think 64 would be a good idea? Just the thought makes me worry :ohdear:
I want my 32 players a side back. Miss the awesome battles on the huge maps with 64 or 32 player servers. It made the squads systems so much more useful, 3 or 4 squads didnt take up the entire team anymore and you could co ordinate and work together better. Provides more opportunity for team play as well, as in people flying in squads in an out from the battle instead of having every player needing to fight on the ground to win. I was an awesome helicopter pilot and would often spend entire games ferrying squads from the far away respawn into checkpoints and parts of the map, wouldnt get many points but it was fun. It worked in BF2, so why not work in BC2? I hope the player slots are raised on the PC version.
Oh god I hate the type88 sniper, so awful :(
I noticed that in a video you can shoot off pieces from tanks, how many destruction spots like this do they have or is it just the armor plates at the side, above the tracks?

On a side note, I love the Thompson. It makes an excellent replacement for the engi's shitty guns.

I made a quick video of the games destruction and its most powerful weapon. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?p=18528145#post18528145 It was a quick cam job, so just focus on the destruction.
Well uh, the destruction engine etc will eat away some of the players, I think 24v24 max would be great.
Yup, this is the exact reason I'm worried about 64 player matches, the map will take a royal beating, there will be little chance of actually completing the objectives due to a constant flow of cannon fodder trying to defend it too. On a side note, I just got the Red dot sight for the Engineer, yay no more shitty SCAR sights. Shame it takes up my sprint speciallization, no more tank assualts now.
Can the repair drill be used as a weapon against players and vehicles?
Can the repair drill be used as a weapon against players and vehicles?
It could in BC1, so I assume it can here.
The micro-destruction Dice has been talking about isn't as refined as I thought it would be.
It could in BC1, so I assume it can here.
Yep, I drilled a sniper to death. Then unloaded all my M9 bullets into his dead body and teabagged him. Bet it looked fun in the death cam!
Shiiiiiiiiit, I wish the PC beta was already out :(
Yep, I drilled a sniper to death. Then unloaded all my M9 bullets into his dead body and teabagged him. Bet it looked fun in the death cam!
It's hilarious drilling holes in walls and knifing exploding fences.
Mini-Review for those without the beta So I start this bitch up after getting a nice beta key from gamespot. First game I played for like 15 minutes : Snipers camping, 4 classes, none of which I really like and our tanks kept getting raped. Decided to give it another try since I loved the first one and damn I played for 4 hours straight. Destruction has really evolved from the first one. Sure microdestruction isn't perfect, like a single bullet can tear 5 square inches of wall, but at least the walls aren't totally solid when it comes to bullets. The battlefield changes alot during a game, especially in the city part of the map. At first I didn't like the classes but I love all of them. Recon has an awesome bullet drop system and you can actually hit something compared to BF2, Medic can revive people (Altho without any animation... but yeah, it's a beta, game's released in march) quickly, altho it's lacking some kind of feedback on when exactly it's recharged (Same for medpacks and ammopacks). Assault has great weapons, can give ammo (fuck yeah no more searching for random ammo packs hidden in the map) and engineer is not stuck with a bad shotgun anymore (Now every class can get a shotty :D). You now get the essential gadgets right off the bat instead of unlocking them every time you rank up twice. The unlock system is great since you get weapons and specializations by playing the damn class, and you unlock the best guns after playing a shitload, not by just selecting it right when you get first unlock. Every gun has ironsights except for shotguns, sound is still amazing, squad system is better (BF1943 style) altho nobody barely talks or you get placed in a squad full of snipers camping. Tanks can actually kill infantry (Compared to BF1943). I can't tell too much about the UAV but so far it's less annoying than artillery or than a bombing raid. Mortar strikes are actually worth something this time and finally, what I love the most about this game compared to BFBC2 NO GOGGLES OF DEATH !
Mortar bombing the targets is a fun way to piss off the enemy and make it easier to defend a planted charge too. If they keep defusing them, just bomb it some more until it get's destroyed. I think I need to get a couple of people from here doing a synchronized mortar strike one on poor target, hell will ensue.
The under barrel shotgun is pretty damn good for clearing out buildings, especially when you're playing defend and don't want the buildings to collapse all over the crates.
Oh okay. the sako is the 2nd bolt action rifle you unlock. I thought the sako was the 3rd bolt action :P But isn't the M24 better?
Oh okay. the sako is the 2nd bolt action rifle you unlock. I thought the sako was the 3rd bolt action :P But isn't the M24 better?
Power wise, yeah, accuracy and RoF is just a tiny bit lower though.
I love the Thompson. It makes an excellent replacement for the engineer's shitty guns.
I love the Thompson. It makes an excellent replacement for the engineer's shitty guns.
But the XM8 compact is a beast in close quarters.
And the SCAR-L is great if you can get a dot sight on it.
Power wise, yeah, accuracy and RoF is just a tiny bit lower though.
The differences are negligible though, since it's still 2 bodyshots to a kill, and they're both 'middle of reticule' accurate anyway.
Although I'd prefer to use the word Chinese before Chink, I doubt any Asian with a bit of intelligence would be offended by that word.
Yeah, chink is so overused, in my school, they just call us chinos, china vagina, gaysian, and oriental. :v:
Oriental? those sons of bitches.
God, there were some idiot kids in my squad last night talking like a bunch of Gangsta's. "Yo man, they need to fix dis. I'm shootin' at there head but it ain't hittin' 'em!" Something like that. They were probably sniping and don't know about gravity. [editline]03:33PM[/editline] Then they made fun of me for knifing the wall. :(
