Farcry Instincts Predator + CryEngine 3 + New story + DLC = :smug:
With DLC i mean Map Editor DLC so you can download more objects later on. including new weapons and gamemodes
I saw the acronym "MMO" and stopped
Far Cry is made to be single player.
I wish it didn't take nearly half of your ammunition to kill one enemy.
I enjoyed FC2 and I found the stealth system working for me. On this one mission in the first territory I snuck into this village that was ontop of water killing nobody. Then I went inside the main building and forced some dude to transmit something if i remember right. Then I killed him just incase he would come at me later on and I snuck back out. Not sure if it was the camo suit thingy helping me or not because I had that upgrade. Still, it worked for me and I don't understand why it doesn't for you guys.

I can understand that statement, sometimes it takes more than how it should for some people. But it isn't as bad as SOF Payback's boss fights. Perhaps those dudes that take extra ammo to down are coked up or something? Maybe they have kevlar under their shirts. I dunno it still is kinda silly
i know it sounds stupid but it would be very rare and be to counter the tanks which would be as rare until the server reached "Total/all out war"
Only thing I didn't like in FC2 really was how much you had to fucking drive around and the stupid checkpoints that had someone on your ass every 2 minutes..
and dont make it an MMO, please
lol i gather everyone here hates MMOs then
Nope. I liked WoW for a little while and I liked Guild Wars and some others.
But MMOs with guns just look terrible
and I can't really imagine far cry as an MMO, I mean what the fuck
ps, the old republic looks shitty
I want to go back to an island. I didn't like Africa. It was kind of boring.
Sooo if my ideas were just single player and in a diffrent environment you people will like it?
lol i gather everyone here hates MMOs then
people tend not to like shifting a single player focused game (such as Half Life, for instance, or Elder Scrolls) to MMO's because it can break the immersion that is set up from those games
and they're bitchy about monthly fees
honestly for some games I don't think an MMO style would be terribly suited
it'd be awkward for Far Cry but I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility to have a 100 player based server with factions and controlling trade / weapons routes etc
it surprises me the lack of opposition to the upcoming Fallout MMO, perhaps because it's being developed by Interplay but who knows

that would be good dont you think though?
Far Cry 2 was okay, except for the fact that 99.9999999999% of it was spent driving to where the mission was. Screw immersion, that was boring.
I used buses so i was more like 99.9999999% loading
that would be good dont you think though?
personally I hated Far Cry 2 but yeah if it was set up properly I think it'd be great
there wasn't any kind of real immersion or emotional grip in Far Cry 2 so that point is absolutely moot as a reason not to turn it into an MMO
(the idea behind the whole immersion thing is having a bunch of FPS gamers going "omfg hacker" and "leet shot huh" would take away from the central overall plot and setting of FPS games like HL2 and games like Oblivion, but Far Cry doesn't really have any huge focus on gripping worlds and enveloping stories so it'd be fine to have this)
Africa is shit boring. And I felt sad when I realized I could translate what the Afrikaans dudes were saying. I caught some guy calling a black guy over to him and calling him a fucker then I killed them both.
CO-OP, map editor with NPCs, HUGE maps. If it had all that, I would still play it.
Far Cry 2 Engine with Far Cry Instincts gameplay. New single player campaign that follows Jack Carver. No repairing vehicles, you stick with what you've got.
Far Cry 2 would be great if it had more bus stations and more weapon damage.
Some of the stealth was really good in Far Cry 2. Not most of it, but you can hide from the enemies and sneak up on them.
The problem was though that as soon as you shot someone, even with a silent weapon, everyone would know where you are.
We need the AI to be able to see you from 1,000,00 million fucking lightyears away and still be able to see and hit even if you stealthed to the maximum ability and hid in the center of the fucking planet, they will still be able to fire a fucking spoon at you and still be able to get a headshot.
Just like in Far Cry 2.

That wasn't the worst part for me. The lack of story and motivation made the game just plain boring. Go here blow up a bus etc. Some games work real well without it, but the sandbox environment wasn't plain fun enough to go without a story.
Only thing I didn't like in FC2 really was how much you had to fucking drive around and the stupid checkpoints that had someone on your ass every 2 minutes..
It was great, but repetitive like fuck. And apparently it was supposed to be so much more. If they can reach their goals in an FC3 I say hell yeah bring it on.
But for christs sake make it feel a little less like everyone and their mother has you on the top of their personal revenge list. I'd like to see some people out in the world that isn't trying to shoot me. Would make it feel a lot more like a living world.
I've never known desperate people to look for girlfriends in an MMO outside of WoW or Runescape

Far Cry was made to boast the graphics in the Cry Engine.
Build it like ArmA 2. Use FC2's weapon handling system and more accessible controls and engine, and use ArmA 2's:
* Huge, huge, huge, huge maps
* Vast, vast, vast amount of weaponry
* Loads of vehicles
* Mission scripting
* Support for 64-player Coop against AI.
I want them to keep the editor the same, it was awesome.
I wish Crysis 2 would support a Fc2 editor with Npc and advanced scripting support, allthough I'd only use it for giant battles.

CryEngine 3 map editor is just like the Farcry map editor and as i saw in the videos on youtube it seems you can make single player maps with AI.
