The free weekend has actually been pretty fun, because for once I can play a round where less than half of the players use custom gold-plated rapid fire MP7s. This, a million times this. Every single map in MW3 is a circle with one or two corridors going through the middle. Sniping spots are always at the extreme edges of the map (for example, the long corridor on Mission or the side street on Resistance, with the gift shop) - try to snipe anywhere else, and you'll notice that the map designers went out of their way to specifically block long-range lines of sight with random props. For those trying out the free weekend and considering buying the game: Don't, for the love of god don't. The more you play MW3, the more goddamn stupid it becomes. The community is shitty, the game is badly balanced, and the more you play MW3's maps, the more you realize that they are all terrible. I used to think Mission was a fucking awesome map, but now I know that the only reason I thought it was good is just because it's not absolute trash. Seriously, they've been making these games for years and years now, and they still thought Downturn and Carbon were release worthy? To top it all off, half the time you die you're getting shot in the back because the game's field of view is capped at something like 60 degrees. Every player basically has horse blinders attached to their helmet.
k
i'm surprised they haven't patched FOV settings in the game since people have been complaining about it since launch. Had to download the FOV tool to not get nauseous. First match was good, only encountered one akimbo fmg9 tard. Next day: Aimbotters Triggerbotters people fucking NOCLIPPING jesus christ, it's impossible to get a kill in edgewise anymore.

Can you get banned for the one you're using? And can you post a link to the one you use?
Just a heads up to anyone interested in MW2 (yep it's old, but all the same), it's only $5 on amazon at the moment: http://www.amazon.com/Call-Duty-Modern-Warfare-Download/dp/B003DTMVGG/ref=br_lf_m_1000771881_1_1_ttl?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&pf_rd_p=1346996142&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_i=1000771881&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1ZX5ZBPP6XYEFYQ7RDHJ

You might call it nitpicking but a helicopter as gigantic as the Osprey should really have had that fixed by now.
lemme guess, your GT is like "XxDrAgOn_MuRkZzzxX"
It's more like the general opinion of every CoD faggot ever
Akimbo MP412's with the name Revolver Ocelot is the best thing ever. Got the final kill in a duel against an FMG9er. "An ocelot never lets his prey escape." Sleight of Hand, Hardline, Steady Aim. Specialist with Scavenger, Dead Silence, Blast Shield. So much fun.
I just started playing Black Ops yesterday. Hacker Pro is the most fun perk to use.
On a side note, I got a bunch of friends to play and we did a Javelin only round. Shit was hilarious.
So basically they overlooked a huge bug with the Five-Seven they will probably never fix?

Probably hard to do in the middle of a firefight reliably, but i'll be damned if it isn't possibly effective/annoying to use/deal with.
is it me or is the striker firing way faster then i think it should
wow this game is absolutely terrible like the last 2 cod games... an hour waiting for it to download, an hour of my life gone.
wow this game is absolutely terrible like the last 2 cod games... an hour waiting for it to download, an hour of my life gone.
There are thousands of gameplay videos up, I am tired of people bitching about wasting their money or time when they did not do proper research if they would like the game or not. Quit blaming the game developers for your lack of discipline over your wallet or your judgement.
knowledge is power i thought the sprint time was 5 seconds, wish he told us what the recharge is. Whether that be another period of time not sprinting or perhaps half the time you spent sprinting or how that worked, would've been nice

Ignoring the occasional hackers, this weekend has been a great time to play MW3. It feels great to break 50 kills and get huge kill streaks with ease. I'm almost gonna miss the free players.
Goddamn I tried the free weekend and, the FOV is terrible, and everytime I pass a corner I need to pray to Allah there isnt a dude there.
Isn't the point of Free Weekend to play the game, not bitch about the game and say that another is better? Good god.
okay codpunch im getting mw3 on ecks bawks, anyone got tips on how not to get raped?
okay codpunch im getting mw3 on ecks bawks, anyone got tips on how not to get raped?
Shoot them before they shoot you, check all corners and try not to make too much noise.
haven't noticed much sound whoring in this game period, by making too much noise means stay off the radar, i agree Try learning the maps in spec ops, if you find a good place to hide in spec ops chaces are its a camping position in multiplayer and yes most definitely check your corners and don't racetrack around the map, chances are the spawn system will put the enemies right behind you.
Starting to hate free weekend now. Just because it's free doesnt mean it gives you the chance to hack and use aimbots.
My main gripe is that nothing feels memorable and the maps are mindless running and gunning. In CoD4 TDM there were frontlines and matches usually consisted of both teams pushing until one side overran the other and then spawns switched. TDM in MW3 was just running around like a fucking idiot until you saw someone. The maps... they're all the same. corridor, large area (where the objective usually is), small as hell buildings or elevated sniping or camping positions. In CoD4 most of the maps had something unique or something that defined them. Crossfire was that map that had a lot of sniper lookouts and was good for long range fights. Strike was urban combat and Vacant was mostly close quarters. In MW3 the maps I played had the same formula. They map design is just dull. Overall I really liked the presentation of MW3 but the gameplay and design was lacking. I only had the UMP and MP5 unlocked but there wasn't really anything different between them unless you get technical. MW3 is a decent game but I would not pay anything above $30 for it.
EXACTLY! I hate how none of the cods after cod4 had that sort of "conquer this spot" element. That was probably the best part of cod IMO. Nowadays, you spawn almost on top of other guys shooting at your team or you spawn far away from both teams, and most of the times ends with you getting killed by a couple of stray enemies who decided to go around. Its like a fucking mess compared to cod4. Even mw2 had them better. I couldn't agree with you more. CoD4's Crossfire had the middle of the street that if you tried to cross it without laying smoke, you would most likely die of sniper fire, so it was basically the house with the balconies against the house with the shop. You would have to flank through the alleys and houses to get to the other side of the map and those had some fucked up choke points. Vacant was full of close quarters combat and would also end the same way as Crossfire's "sniper wars" having people from the outside shooting at those inside. C4 + grenades = kills everywhere really. Strike again had this same side-to-side fight with the car garage in the middle. Overgrown was one side of the empty river to the other or barn vs people near the stone bridge, and clearing houses from machine gunners. Downpour was amazing because people seemed to see pretty bad and I always ended up with 40 or 50 kills and less than 10 deaths, it was extremely easy. Mw2 had some fucked up maps at first, but they ended up being all different from each other, much like cod4. And you could use stuff with their intended purposes. Mw3's are just awful. Only a few are ok, everything else is like being in a maze without walls but still being a maze, where people appear out of fucking nowhere shooting at you no matter where you go and try to save yourself. You think "Argh got low health, lets run through here to heal" and then an enemy could even spawn there or appear out of fucking nowhere as said, in a very awful and common coincidence. The other thing that makes the game rather... Bad, compared to other games or other cods, is that it looks uglier than BO, MW2 and MW1. The maps just look so... Dirty... Like, they didn't intend it to be dirty like BO's maps, but they are dirty, because of the engine. Grainy maybe... Its just grayer compared to MW2 which was colorfull as all hell. And the weapons, only a few were actually fun to use. Shotguns are a complete drag to use until you get them to high level, or at least they used to be. Pistols aren't really needed. Machine Pistols are FMG9 and nothing else, but if we go by that logic, FMG9 above everything else... Many assault rifles seem like the exact same. Only some submachine guns are of exceptional use, like the MP7 and the PP-19. Everything else is dull and WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T THEY GIVE ME COD4'S MP5?! Snipers have a nice selection but I feel the AS50 is a Barret with half the bullets. Overall, feel nice to use even. Can't say anything about LMG's because I never use them. They feel slow and bulky, and I don't like slow and bulky. If I think about it, I bought it for 30€ because I got CoD4 aswell, so 30€ for each of them, I can have fun with mw3 and have a blast with mw1, and they are all on Steam, so no hauling boxes :v: [editline]19th February 2012[/editline]
Every single map in MW3 is a circle with one or two corridors going through the middle. Reminds me of Carbon, where there are increadibly tight stairs and houses that look like buttholes and towers everywhere blocking the view for the people on the ground floor. Used to do it all the time in cod4. Wow, it was 14 motherfucking gigs so I just finished it downloading it last night, and played it for 30 minutes this morning before I had to go. Not everyone has fibre-optic, and 14 gigs is absurd for a trial of an arcade FPS. All of Skyrim is 9GB, all of Mirror's Edge is 7GB, all of BF3 is 15GB. That was a monstrous fucking download. Do you think they'll offer another free weekend? If so, I'll keep my local files so I don't have to go through this bullshit again. Also, what they said about the maps a few posts up. I MIGHT get it if it goes on sale for like $10.

I get it for BF3 which has huge maps and some motherfucking NICE graphics and Skyrim has a HUGE ass world, but this one should be maybe 1 or 2 gb more than MW2.
