I wish they'd kept the deeper general system from Medieval II, it was fucking hilarious having some big fat bloodthirsty bastard rolling around getting scarier and scarier with every battle.
I remember my scarred, high dread, bloodthirsty, excellent attacker (or whatever that trait's called) general in Medieval 2. Even I was scared of him :v:
I don't know about Medieval 2, but in Rome the traits and stat things would effect the speeches the generals gave at the start of battles. So madmen would rave about bathing in the enemy's blood and stuff.
How do I make the game more interesting? Played co-op campaign once with a friend and after like 20 turns, it just ended up in him and me being superpowers and autocalcing every single sieges because it was our huge army against like 4 stacks of ashigarus defending a town, repeat ad nauseaum until the entire country is ours.
Play on Legendary or play Head to head victory conditions, then you can set up your own victory goals with your friend instead of just taking his capital, that's what I and my friend did.
Some screenshots from my campaign as the more traditional, pro-shogun clan Nagoaka (sp?) vs a modern pro-emperor army. I had nothing but swords, spears and arrows. They had rifles. Battle was bloody but it was well worth it as I played guerrilla warfare in the woods for a while. Here are some of the more interesting highlights from the battle (Any quality issues is most likely because of Steam):
randomly broke our alliance and declared war
Such is life in Empire Total War Hey Italian States, give us Rome and we'll give you Jamaica plus you pay us 6000 gold. Oh you declined, England has declared war on you. Every. Fucking. Time.
Thinking of getting back into Total War games. I've got em all apart from the Shogun games. Is Shogun 2 worth it? And there's an new expansion out for it, is that any good?
Fall of the samurai is amazing. Get it. I'd even pick it over the base Shogun 2. Also i take back what i said about marines, they're amazing. I'd take a 3-unit marine line over a 6-unit white bear line any day.
Even worse as a low level searching for Naval Battles. Thankfully I found one today and soon after I unlocked these guys. Does that mean I lose them forever if they get wiped out? because that would really suck.
I wish that there were 3 modes, 1 for Lower classes (say, 4 bronze and below), 2 for the rest (5 bronze or more) and 3 for mixed, It would also be a good idea to get 1 more mode just for the Silvers.
So I just took an enemy castle, guarded by an army of almost 3000, while losing exactly 6 men. [sp]AHRMUSTROHNG GUNS[/sp]
So I just took an enemy castle, guarded by an army of almost 3000, while losing exactly 6 men. [sp]AHRMUSTROHNG GUNS[/sp]
I love them so much.....when your using them they are so goddamn annoying when the opposing side are using them...
Are gatling guns good in MP? I just unlocked them but I'm afraid to use them because of both the cost and that I never see them used.
Are gatling guns good in MP? They're powerful enough to be able to single-handedly shoot up the center of an enemy charge, but you'll get much more strategic value out of normal artillery, as they force your enemy to act - and in a multiplayer game, I'd assume most players are intelligent enough to mostly avoid gatling guns anyway.
Gatlings, while devastating, engage from a relatively short distance and as all artillery pieces are very vulnerable. Human players will try to avoid them, but if you place it right it will massacre anything coming at it. Just be sure to have melee troops very close behind it that can rush forward when the enemy charge reaches your gatlings. [editline]27th March 2012[/editline] Also fighting FotS armies with original Shogun 2 armies instantly makes you man.
What is it with people and losing? I was just playing on a game that was for Lower levesl (1-4) me and this other level 2 guy were just hiding in the woods while I was using my Wooden artillery (its pretty useless but I still like using it during battles) then I get moaned at from the other team "For fighting without honor" then both of them left leaving me and my ally to face a fuck ton of troops running towards us. My team consisted of me (FOTS) and another FOTS player, both rank 1's. the other team was 2 level 5 bronze Shogun 2 players. who. actually had Bigger armies then us two. We pretty much won without taking many losses (around 100-200 losses)
Good God, the Blood Pack is amazing.
Ok, I suck at fall of the samurai, I just got my ass kicked four times in a row. Shogun two, however, I kick ass at, I was always better at Medieval 2 than I was empire.
Can't see shit captain
Ah, the era of black powder.
Good God, the Blood Pack is amazing.
I almost regret getting it because I find myself getting flanked by cav because I too busy watching some yari get shot up.

Me and a level 2 just beat 2 level 6 players with pretty much whole armies full of Veterans Is this normal?
I almost regret getting it because I find myself getting flanked by cav because I too busy watching some yari get shot up.
I always have to watch my katana samurai chopping off heads.
Me and a level 2 just beat 2 level 6 players with pretty much whole armies full of Veterans Is this normal?
Depends, who was fighting with Shogun armies and who was fighting with FOTS armies?
Depends, who was fighting with Shogun armies and who was fighting with FOTS armies?
We were all FOTS. There teams consisted off Veterans like Imperial infantry or whatever. ours were just Black bears and Bowmen.
Oh, well in that case I guess they just played horribly :v: [editline]27th March 2012[/editline] Or you did excellently, sorry
