Is it me or do jockeys take like entire magazines to kill sometimes when they're riding someone? Maybe that was related to the thing they fixed.
Or the jockeys are trying to move so much you can't hit 'em, or the bots that are over 100% bad at getting jockeys off as they seem to aim at your feet instead and it takes time (a lot of) for them to realize that someone is being steered away
Me and a friend decided to record our session when we decided to randomly pick Left 4 Dead back up.
Accidentally posted this in the TF2 thread, it's supposed to go here.
That seems like a good idea to what happens to the new Survivors after The Parish, Joyful Mystery! But I wouldn't exactly consider it 100% canon myself
Coach has an Ellis tattoo. Also, does anyone have a copy of that mod that spawns the CSS weapons/riot shield in every map? I can't seem to find it.
Coach has an Ellis tattoo.
I'm not sure that's Ellis. Unless Ellis suddenly is an elf now. Look again, the tattoo has pointy ears.

Wasn't it the Left 4 Dead 2 hat? Or are you three talking about the Midnight Riders?
I tried to make a "concept art" look for Bill. Anyone do want ?
I don't think he's even talking about vs. He's talking about how repetitive the game is. How every gun falls into effectively 3 play styles. How the director always picks the same pattern of horde, break, horde, break, with the only variations being the map defined panic events that will always be there every play through. The game isn't on par with Valve's other works in terms of gameplay variety, due to the limited choices you actually have in the game.
Versus is the only fun to be had. Many people don't meet the requirements to properly play (and have fun) against even the casual-tier of players, and they are: AT LEAST one friend, a decent set of headphones, microphones, and time to practice on a few maps. Singleplayer can only offer you bots which (of course) have a tiny capacity for tactics. 4 players working against your 3 team-mates means that everyone must work in complete cohesion or lose to simple mistakes, the game is then centered around timing, tactics, and skill. Of course almost every campaign has a few maps where the survivors can corner up and take advantage of the seemingly unbalanced playing field, but the principles remain. This is all for the casual experience, as you are offered bundles of health-packs and Tier2 weapons that can kill chargers in seconds. Now consider competitive scripts like confogl (it ran as a mutation for a while). No medkits at all, only pills can be scavenged. No Tier2 weapons. And only 1 hunting rifle can be used at once. See how much the game is changed? Rage-a-holics should not even consider buying L4D3 (if it ever comes out).
I actually play vs. more then any other game mode. It's just more fun when they're more people.
Woah, L4D2 was released 3 years ago. Time flies
Versus is the only fun to be had.
And this is why we'll always have VS oriented instead of general fixing up or polishing updates, and why Scavenge, Survival and other game modes are dead. Because of this mentality. Hell, even VS realism is dead and people asked for it. Confogl is just taking a majority of the survivors things away. Then again, typical competitive spirit, ban everything that can be considered remotely overpowered.

In a game that's based on running from zombies their intelligence can only go so far, no amount of polish is going to fix the fact that your aggressors are typically dumb as a bag of rocks. And yes, it's not a matter of what is "considered" overpowered. It's a matter of what IS overpowered. 4 Survivors who know how to play as a team, armed with an autosniper each, can absolutely decimate thanks to the raw amount of DPS. Even the tank will get ripped to pieces in a matter of a minute. VS Realism is "dead" because the public is notoriously full of unskilled ragers, it was probably rare to see an entire campaign with such terrible people; it's the middle ground between casual and competitive that offers a unique challenge for survivors and a wider range of tactics for infected. It appears as if YOU have never experienced the other side of the equation, have you even ever played an all-friends game? Singleplayer is and always will be a goddamn tutorial.

I made a weapon model mod for the L4D assault rifle: Doesn't change any gameplay and is an appearance+sound mod only, can work online: http://www.gamebanana.com/l4d/skins/115337
Nice job. I'm a fan of your weapon re-anims.

Valve should've refined and polished their shit, and this doesn't apply to that filthy casual Singleplayer and Campaign, but it's vital for VS as well. If you're looking for a particular example, I'd say fixing the incapacitation animations for looking backwards (they look forward but shoot backwards, making it really hard to tell where the survivors are actually shooting). Surely, it would benefit the Infected to have some awareness right? Yes, I have played an all friends game, but they're rare because it's hard to organise 8 friends. Anyway I didn't come to argue the intricacies of VS because as far as I'm aware, I know jack shit. I just take problem at the fact that you say VS is the only way to have fun in L4D, which rubs a non-competitive player like me the wrong way.

The point of the game is continuous survival from point A to point B through multi-map campaigns. Which game mode is it that takes the continuity between maps out?
I made a weapon model mod for the L4D assault rifle: Doesn't change any gameplay and is an appearance+sound mod only, can work online: http://www.gamebanana.com/l4d/skins/115337
Could we expect these animations for the default M4 and for L4D2?
And what about the weapon attachments for the golfclub & the M60? Is there going to be a mod fixing them? (Golf Club is held on the shaft instead of the handle in the viewmodels while the M60 clips very badly and the right side is never meant to be drawn. But Comrade Lurker, you're right by a 100%. Valve does need to fix up the stuff they still haven't fixed (such as the other 3 new Survivors mistaking ammopiles for weapons, Nick got fixed after Cold Stream went out.) It's sad to hear that Valve never seems to accept any community fixes they find (TF2 is very messy, and Valve is just lazy and prays that nobody will notice. But quality is also important and not just quantity) Here's some bugs I know that Valve hasn't fixed, the Survivors calling ammo by "weapons" is not mentioned down here because I already noted it above. But the Original Survivors should call deployable ammo by "ammo" as well: Nick's ReactionNegative02 is mute because of the volume being out of bounds, it's set to "7.00" Subtitle errors, Nick has errors in two of his Friendly Fire lines which is that the captions say "stop the friendly right now" Francis sounds as if he is saying "No" when he gets incapped which is nearly obvious "npc.Biker_IncapacitatedInitial01" is using "player\survivor\voice\Biker\No01.wav" instead of "player\survivor\voice\Biker\IncapacitatedInitial01.wav" Below is in L4D1 too: When Louis says "Time to move" the "Time" is misspelled as "Tme", when Zoey says they need to raise the bridge the captions seem to cut off and they only say "We need to raise the.", not to mention that when she says she'll take the shotgun the subtitle says "I think I'll ltake the shotgun" (Not obvious enough? There's an "L" before the "take the shotgun" part pieced with the "take") I blame Valve for disabling custom subtitles after the Orange Box, or for disabling it everywhere

It's incredibly hard for me to have online friends or real friends because I live in a rural, spaced out area, and also because everyone lives in a different time zone than me. I also always screw it up somehow, by either being a complete ass or simply ignoring them. [editline]23rd February 2012[/editline] Which is why I never play L4D with friends.
