Also blizzard hates AMD/ATI cards and WoW runs like ass in comparison to nVidia GPUs
Wow has jack shit to do with graphic cards, it's all about your processor. I mean as long as you're not using something ancient like a 6200 GT.
I have a 2500k @ 4.6GHz on my desktop and a 2140 (2.3 w/ turbo 2.9GHz) in my laptop, runs like shit on both.
2500k @ 4.7 and a 5770 here and it runs like shit on ultra
I got dual 6870s in my desktop and a GTX 460M in my laptop, never goes over 50fps max and averages in the low 30s.
I got dual 6870s in my desktop and a GTX 460M in my laptop, never goes over 50fps max and averages in the low 30s.
Stop running shadows on ultra, Blizzard can't optimize shadows for shit, run them on high they look roughly the same without the performance rape, if you're in any heavily populated area (IE a SW or org) your fps will be bad regardless of settings because half your server is crammed into one area.
I am aware of the shadows issue, they're set to fair since I can care less about them and when I say lows 30s average that applies to everywhere.

wont go live
how good is rsham/affloc/spriest in arenas? also any big weaknesses?
I got dual 6870s in my desktop and a GTX 460M in my laptop, never goes over 50fps max and averages in the low 30s.
I run a singular 9800GTX+ with the same desktop CPU as you (4.5GHz OC) and i get (much) better framerates than that, everything maxed (shadows too.) on 1280x1024 with 4xAA dafuq
I even tried playing around with buffering and vsync since I heard those also mess up framerates, no change. [editline]7th May 2012[/editline] Also, I love the MoP beta. Can't wait for release.
I run a HD 6650M in my laptop and I get the same framerates as you Completely maxed out on my HD 6850, goes 60 smoothly unless there are a shitton of particles.
Maybe my 6870s are just retarded or something. Oh well, they're getting replaced too anyway.
You're also you so you might be having an adverse effect on your computer's performance, as is to be expected
I automatically lose 20fps in everything. It's the new Makol debuff.
Could be related to which DirectX WoW is set to render with. I know that when I installed fresh, the default was 9, and that gave me shit fps. Switched to 11 and it was smooth running at max afterward.
I get terrible fps in DX11, plus I hardly seen any difference between 9 and 11 tbh.
tried using the 64-bit client? There's some pretty damn good performance gains to be had with it
I got 2fps more. I just think it has something do to with the cards or something, but like I said, they're getting replaced soon so then once they are I can maybe find out what the issue is.
Is your computer plugged in? Make sure you have your computer plugged in before you attempt to turn it on.
TBH I never found that SLI or CrossFire really had any performance gains (except when PhysX was the shit.)
Ran a friend through normal dungeons, took bout 2-5k damage on boss fights as the tank, I love blood tanking
I dislike how the flow of leveling paths are favored to certain zones over others.
they're uh.. not really favored anymore - more just how they were designed
they're uh.. not really favored anymore - more just how they were designed
The point is you have leveling segments such as Feralas, Felwood, and Winterspring that don't fit the rest of the progressions.
that's weird I do those all when I'm levelling instead of their alternatives
Yeah I always hit up Felwood and Winterspring. Feralas, not so much.
It's a very nonlinear path.
