Yes, he's the progamer, and he knows a lot more about the game than me, but even in recoverable positions he seems to lose all of his fight. On the opposite end of the scale, from Korean pros that I see, they never give up even when its clear they've lost :v:
Idra has this idea that if he isn't playing as he thinks he should be playing he'd rather surrender and try again later.
Idra has this idea that if he isn't playing as he thinks he should be playing he'd rather surrender and try again later.
We're seeing where that gets him though.. I don't get why he acts that way, he must know it's a bad attitude himself, and he sees his results..

I only know that the reason behind his early surrenders has something to do with his personal goal of playing to the best of his abilities.
I just started playing 2v2's with my friend (new to starcraft), I thought I was bad, but we completely destroyed our opponents.
Yeah, that feeling never goes away.
Watching this is painful:
...What the fuck MKP
Watching this is painful:
I just played two games like this on my smurf account and I didn't get sick, does this mean that I should be a pilot? :v: It was really weird but it wasn't undoable. Watching the replay with the game rightside up blew my mind though. Oh god now I have to get used to everything being normal again...
I'm streaming some crappy masters NA play atm. http://www.twitch.tv/zombojoe I'll try to alt tab as much as possible :v:
ZOMBO I WILL SNIPE YUO ON LADDER MASTERS UNITE
I hate watching someone better than you, you think "I can do that". You go try it, and get raped. :>
I ran into Debo on the ladder and beat him. Replay: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38438447/Starcraft%20replays/Zombo%20vs%20Debo.SC2Replay I'm moving up in the starcraft world. Hilarious video of him and Destiny.
Fcking Stupid turtle cunts I fucking hate this fucking game
pls don't turn into the new Miigga
Fuck yes for Drone Rushing lmao [editline]16th April 2012[/editline]
pls don't turn into the new Miigga
?
?
He keeps coming in here to shout and get mad at the game, but then he continues playing.
Well, after calming down, I'm going to admit I love this game lol. The only part I dont like is the turtling, and only thats because its so slow and boring.. I love the other 99% of this game. Just wish I could get out of Bronze rather than sitting in the top 8 playing Random lol
Stick to one race, learn to macro, learn mechanics, and before you know it, you'll be platinum Now if only I could get myself to play so I could get out of gold
I stuck with Zerg for 2 seasons, pretty much dominated Bronze, basically only lost to top 8 Terrans.. Didnt get promoted.. swapped to Random.. went down for a bit (my T was awful as shit, but its almost as good as my Zerg now) now I'm sitting at Top 8 again.. my TvT is pretty eh.. I normally just go into macro mode and spam up marines lol.. I REALLY want the Medic / Medivac avatar.. been playing 1v1 and 4v4 as Terran just for it.. [editline]16th April 2012[/editline] Whats "mechanics" I hear it a lot.. Does it just mean like, Queen injections and creep spread?
Whats "mechanics" I hear it a lot.. Does it just mean like, Queen injections and creep spread?
Yes, macro is a mechanic, micro is a mechanic. Knowing which buttons to press at the right times. Using control groups is a mechanic too. Morphing 18 zerglings and adding the zergling eggs to a control group would be considered a mechanic. Having an overall sense of what you're doing is mechanic. This is why pros have twice or thrice the APM of a low league player.

You say you're losing to top 8 bronzes, those people are HORRIBLE. You'r ein bronze, you're probably really bad at SC2, and that's okay. The first step is realizing what you do poorly. Isolate something you do wrong, then work on it. Macro is an important place to start, google some one base zerg builds (not 6pools, stuff like fast baneling busts, roach rushes etc.) then just try and hammer them out perfectly, once you get really confident with a build and you can pull it off perfectly, try messing with it. What happens if instead of attacking with 8 roaches like the build says, you wait for 12 roaches? What if you take an expo and use the roaches to defend rather than attack etc. Main thing is just work on macro, a fun little minigame to play occasionally is to reach 200/200 supply in workers as fast as possible, without an opponent. You won't learn any build orders off it, but you'll learn how to manage injects/mules/expansions etc a lot better. It really seems to me you arent focussing on improving, you just lose to a top 8 bronze and go "oh he was better than me I guess i lost because of that". That's the WRONG line of thought, look at the replay, see what you did wrong, see what you could have done differently, next time try and make those changes. Most of all, try and speed up, memorize hotkeys. Also stick to one race for a while, don't go random until probably gold league at the EARLIEST. Playing random will slow your initial learning because you have to learn 3 macro styles simultaneously and when you want to be practicing one element of the game you probably won't get the race you need to practice it on. E.G. if you're practicing marine control and you keep rolling zerg that's useless to you since you're distracting your focus.
If you get mad you just shouldn't play. That just might make you even angrier and make you do bad decisions that make you lose games. Play only when you want to play
I find a good strategy is every 4 or 5 games just do something really dumb for the lols. Helps relieve stress and lets you work out new strategies, e.g. pure ghost army. You don't have any of the pressure of losing either because you're just fucking about and don't care if you lose.
Fcking Stupid turtle cunts I fucking hate this fucking game
If they're turtling, you've got map control, and can comfortably expand. You can pressure them constantly thanks to your vastly superior economy.
Man, I just went against a terran who got me with a 3 medivac m/m drop at my main. I had reacted to his heavy marauders by going early 3base 3robo immortal/stalker but I figured I'd go all in as he medivac dropped my third. I walked into his base with 9 immortals, 10 stalkers versus his 20 marauders and ~5 marines (out of position as they were at my third when I got to his base). I didn't actually lose any immortals and I only lost 1 stalker. He lost his entire army and his main was mined out.
If they're turtling, you've got map control, and can comfortably expand. You can pressure them constantly thanks to your vastly superior economy.
I beat Turtles :) Just annoys my because it takes me like 30 minutes to do it.
Terran is actually Latin for Turtle! [editline]16th April 2012[/editline] Also, I gotta man up and actually play the game.
Terran is actually Latin for Turtle! [editline]16th April 2012[/editline] Also, I gotta man up and actually play the game.
No it's not. But it's based of the latin name for Earth - Terra. So terran do have a high probability of digging in into the ground:P
Faced a dude who claimed he was master in Korea, he was diamond on EU (where I faced him). Once he was dead he started complaining protoss was OP. So I said yes, if a EU diamond protoss can beat a Korean Masters Terran, I guess the race is OP. He then started to curse and ragequit. I very much doubt his story about Korea.
