Shamelessly Copied From Wikipedia- If anyone is better at making topics feel free to contact me.
Dragon's Dogma (Japanese: ドラゴンズ ドグマ Hepburn: Doragonzu Doguma?) is an upcoming open world action role-playing game that is being developed by Capcom for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game has an open world fantasy setting and is planned to be released in North America on May 22, 2012, May 25, 2012 in Europe,[2] and May 24, 2012 in Japan.[1]

The player will be able to select between various types of vocations, of which nine have been revealed: Fighter, Warrior, Mystic Knight, Strider, Ranger, Assassin, Mage, Sorcerer and Magic Archer.[4] Gender choice and appearance settings will also be available.[5] While the player's party is exploring the world, the three party members who accompany the main character will be controlled by artificial intelligence, but the player can issue orders like "Go", "Help" and "Come to them". One of the party members is a non-playable character (NPC) and belongs to the main character's world. The other two party members are NPCs borrowed from other players by connecting online, but the game will not require an internet connection. However, the player can only borrow the NPCs from other players, not their main character.[6] The party members will talk, seek the main character's help, and provide information about enemies.[5] The player will need to work on strengthening the main character and the party members.[6] The game will feature a "grab" action, where the main character can grab on or cling to enemies, objects, or NPCs. The player can use this feature for more advanced attacks. For example, the main character can either grab on to a giant griffon's legs and attack it directly, or climb up to reach its head for a more lethal blow.[5] "In a lot of action games, with big enemies the tendency is just to have you hacking away at the shins. You don't get the full effect of fighting a giant boss," Hideaki Itsuno, the director of Dragon's Dogma, said. "With this game you can climb all over it. If it has a body part, you can attack it." The ability to climb enemies has drawn comparisons to Shadow of the Colossus. The game also drew comparisons to Capcom's own Monster Hunter series as well as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.[7] In addition to the large open world, Dragon's Dogma will also feature a large city environment with over 200 NPCs who will move about according to their own time schedules. The player will be able to communicate with the residents in full voice.[5] The game is being designed to be playable even by those who are not too skilled at action games. These types of players can recruit strong NPCs and let them do the fighting during combat as they watch over the battlefield.[6] Players can look forward to anywhere between 30 and 100 hours of gameplay, the former figure for normal play and the latter for those who wish to dig in to the game.[5]
Essentially this game is the lovechild of open world Oblivion and Dark Souls Japanese third person combat. I suck at explaining so let this guy do it: I'll add more content to the OP as the thread builds, but give the video a chance!
That does look like a pretty interesting game, that day/night and combat system seemed really awesome.
Neat concept.
This looks extremely fun. I remember seeing something in News Node about crappy DRM with this though, so keep an eye out for that. The game, however, looks exceptionally fun. I'm glad somebody's finally putting meaning to the whole "day/night" thing rather than sun versus moon.
Saw this at PAX, looked pretty great. Picking it up whenever it comes out.
The fact that the gameplay mechanic changes when it becomes nighttime and it becomes this amnesia dark souls RPG horror game is amazing. The lighting and combat are both absolutely beautiful.
Well this looks pretty damn cool, but as usual, no PC love.
God, in that cyclops video: LEARN TO AIM!
Can't wait. This looks like a huge amount of fun to play.
Well this looks pretty damn cool, but as usual, no PC love.
Looks like if there's high enough demand from the pc crowd they'll make a pc version.
I am hype as the dickens for this game.
I just watched a crap load of videos and I know that this game will be so fucking good in me.
I truly hope it offers Monster Hunter influenced loot and armor creation systems. Otherwise, Dragon's Dogma looks amazing and fun. I wonder if there will be live multiplayer.
I'm really not sure what to think of the game. On one hand I feel like it may just be a boring version of Dark Souls, but on the other hand it looks kind of like a Monster Hunterish game. But it could be just a lame-o MH semi-clone. I'll wait for reviews from decent sites but if the reviews are pretty good I'm sure I'll end up picking this up.
I remember seeing this along time ago it actually looks like it could be better than Skyrim, which I found quite disappointing.
the concept of putting together western RPG elements with Japanese combat mechanics has some insane potential
Hmm, can't decide... Assassin, Ranger or Warrior?
If this was on PC I would seriously consider getting it. It seems like Fable, mixed with Shadow of the Colossus, with a touch of Dark Souls, and a hint of Elder Scrolls. The only problem I can imagine for a game like that is either a small/limited map size with no indoor environments, or limited interactivity with the environment. Other than that it looks amazing.
You can pick up and toss lighter enemies around? That's fucking awesome.

Hah, how they clinged onto the cyclops reminded me of shadow of the colossus.
I am really looking forward to this
Looking forward for this game as well. Imo it is a shame that they won't add a Co-Op mode and just release it for consoles. A game like this kind of screams for Co-op, but that is just me.
This looks brilliant! I hope that the PC crowd shows capcom that we would love this game too.
Possibly the only console game I plan to buy this year.
These should totally be added to the OP. Over 3 hours of gameplay and information.
Goddamnit, it gets released two days after my birthday, talk about bad timing.
How the heck did I only find out about this right now? It's like all my favorite games mashed in together. Can't wait for this game to come out!
Combat kind of looks like a clusterfuck compared to the deliberate pace of Dark Souls or Monster Hunter, but I'm still extremely interested.
Wow... this is the kind of shit I've been dying to play for years. 360 and PS3 though, and no multiplayer. What a shame.
