Just Cause 2 takes place on the fictional South-East Asian island of Panau. You play as special-agent-mexican-badass Rico Rodriguez as you hunt down rogue agent and former mentor Tom Sheldon. JC2, like the original JC, has an enormous island environment; over 400 square miles. However, unlike the original JC, which had a strictly tropical environment, JC2 has tropical beaches, arid deserts, and snow covered mountains covering the island of Panau. JC2 also offers much larger set pieces than the original. While JC had a few cities and towers scattered about, they were dwarfed by the vastness of the jungle environment. JC2, however, promises gigantic buildings, sprawling cities, mountain bases, and much more, all to contribute to the games emphasis on vertical gameplay. Like the original, JC2 allows almost total freedom of movement due to it's parachute, grappling hook, and stunt maneuvers (and of course, hundreds of vehicles) You can scale the tallest mountain and base jump down into the city if you feel like it. The huge game world offers plenty of opportunities to simply play around. Click any image to go to the larger version. Here's a way to do it pretty easily. Perfect to use when pulling off cool jumps, or amazing stunts.
For those who didn't know about it, it's very easy to get slow motion in JC2: 1. Download Cheat Engine: http://www.cheatengine.org/download.php 2. Start JC2 3. Alt-tab to desktop and start Cheat Engine 4. Select Open Process (upper left icon button) 5. From the process list select the JustCause2.exe 6. Select Settings (upper right corner) 7. In the Settings screen select Hotkeys from the menu/panel on the left Now let's say that you want button V to set game to half speed and button B to set it back to normal speed. 8. Under Functions select Speedhack speed 1. Click the Hotkey field and press V. Click the speed field and enter 0,5. 9. Under Functions select Speedhack speed 2. Click the Hotkey field and press B. Click the speed field and enter 1,0. (I haven't touched the Sleeptime and I don't know what happens if you do, but I'm sure the tutorial says something about it) 10. Click OK. You are now back in the main window of Cheat Engine. 11. Select Enable Speedhack (check box on right side of main window) 12. Just leave the speed at 1,00 and click Apply. 13. Alt-tab back to JC2. You should now get half speed when you click V in the game and normal speed when you click B. Just make sure the hotkeys you use are not used in the button assignments in JC2.
*DISCLAIMER* OP IS A COPYPASTE FROM THE LOCKED THREAD As to why I even bothered to revive this thread, see the next post for details
That multiplayer video made me reinstall the game
I'm sure everyone remebers the JC2-MP mod, they released a few videos, then vanished off the face of the earth. The rumour was they were shut down by Avalanche Studios. Well, guess what, they are back! http://www.jc-mp.com/ Personally, I would have never suspected this to return, but it looks like it has. The MP mod looks to have advanced since it was last seen over a year ago, and according to the website they plan to have a playable beta release quite soon. I think we might see a Day Z type situation again, with Just Cause 2 hitting the top 10 Steam charts, thanks to the mod
"AUGH! HE GOT ME WITH HIS WIRE THING." Shit never gets old.
I wonder what the MP is focused on. I'm guessing goofing around (i.e you can spawn vehicles whenever you want etc) but I do hope there is still enemy NPC's. Obviously they will need a buff if they are against a large number of players, but it would be great fun to storm a base with three friends and start grappling everyone together. Aswell, I wonder how multiple grapple hooks will work. If I hook a enemy soilder to a barrel, can a friend hook the barrel to a car then drive away? It's obviously possible, Bolopatch did it, just wonder if it will be in the MP.
Will the MP mod have AI traffic and people or does that pose the same problem as with SA:MP?
Welp, time to install this game again.
I wonder how the DLC is going to work with MP. If one person has some DLC, will all other players have to have it too?
My god. A multiplayer mod. Gotta fire this bad boy back up. Free roaming multiplayer was the only reason I kept playing GTA IV, and that didn't even have grappling hooks and parachutes! I didn't even know this game had any mods at all.
bolopatch erry day fuck korean midgets get loot [editline]16th June 2012[/editline] swag
Will the MP mod have AI traffic and people or does that pose the same problem as with SA:MP?
the dev said that unless they get the source code for ai maybe, but since they don't have it there won't be ai.
Why not just make the ai themselves?
Waiting for the multiplayer mod...
Will the MP mod have AI traffic and people or does that pose the same problem as with SA:MP?
MTA has the ability to script in these things, just no one has taken that as a challenge. SAMP is just shit devs who cry about everything. This is amazing and should come out soon.
Why not just make the ai themselves?
Requires an immense amount of work.
I really hope that multiplayer mod actually gets a public beta. I've been needing a reason to play Just Cause 2 again.
The multiplayer mod was the reason I finally bought it for PC. I'd been thinking about buying it on the PC for a while now, though I already had it for PS3. I managed to pick it up cheap for £5, so a great deal.
Can't wait until multiplayer comes out, hopefully before holiday times. Only have a single friend who'd be willing to play with me though, so I hope there's some sort of server browser or something like that.
the dev said that unless they get the source code for ai maybe, but since they don't have it there won't be ai.
So no civilians driving around in multiplayer freeroam? Fuck. My favorite activity was hopping on top of a civilian car with a grenade launcher and explode any car that is driving around me... [editline]17th June 2012[/editline] Of course if player counts can go to be massive like 100+ it may be fun just to have a massive war around the island.
I wonder if you can use your own skin like you can in Minecraft :v:
Go download my mods because they were a pain in the ass to do http://justcause2mods.com/mods/Player/Vacation-Rico/ http://justcause2mods.com/mods/Player/Max-Payne-3-ish-Merc-Outfit/ [editline]17th June 2012[/editline] I remember player modding tools being a gigantic frustrating escapade to find. I backed them up along with a tutorial PDF I found, to save myself the hours of trouble of finding it again.
I wonder how the DLC is going to work with MP. If one person has some DLC, will all other players have to have it too?
I'm guessing DLC will be disabled, which sucks, but I'm sure the free stuff like the ice cream truck and tuk tuk(?) with the cannon will be included.
The Tuk Tuk Boom Boom was in the video

We need some more people to sign this, it was sitting up on the front page of the mod website. https://www.change.org/petitions/just-cause-2-official-modding-tools-for-pc
Still never beat this game, just used mods and cheats and fucked around after the first 3 missions. It's been like that in every sandbox game I play except Saints Row, for some reason I try to beat those.
Here's to hoping Just Cause 3 is bigger, better, moddable and has multiplayer. I wish
Still never beat this game, just used mods and cheats and fucked around after the first 3 missions. It's been like that in every sandbox game I play except Saints Row, for some reason I try to beat those.
You should do them. Some of the missions (Especially the space program mission) can be pretty damn awesome. [editline]17th June 2012[/editline] Also I would absolutely love a sequel. Just Cause 2 was amazing, but it's been a couple of years. It would be nice to have some new things to do, and more places to explore.
i hope if they ever do make a just cause 3 it doesn't fall into the saints row 3 category.
I refuse to believe that the Mile High Club is a easter egg, just something some people don't know about. [editline]16th June 2012[/editline] also, car physics
