Vic Boss...? (What some people call Big Boss)
Yeah, I imagined that the context of that line is the female nurse telling the doctor that "V" (Big Boss) is awake.
If ghost volgin is a major antagonist that would be fucking awesome. [editline]28th March 2013[/editline] And then he comes back in 2018 and violently molests raiden again.
It definitely seems that the reason shit was crazy in the hospital was because Boss had woken up. Voice was probably not the nurse, but was probably a much more important character.
Kinda neat that the machine gun fire from the helicopter in the PP gameplay makes the same sound that happens in the GZ trailer when Big Boss comes in. Always enjoy when devs do stuff like that. I wonder if any other members of the MGS 1 FOXHOUND squad will make an appearance too; like Sniper Wolf or Decoy Octopus. (I wouldn't expect Vulcan Raven though) And i'm gonna take a shot in the dark here too, But I think it'd be pretty strange/neat if they were actually working with you this time around since this will be from Big Boss's perspective and those guys were originally with him.
I don't think Ghost Volgin is Ghost volgin at all. He looks more like Evil Ghost Snake. That first sneaking suit i posted is from Peace Walker. The next is from Portable Ops, but his Ground Zeroes suit seems to be a bit of both from what I can see. [editline]29th March 2013[/editline] I mean if you actually look at Volgin, the only similarity is how orange it is and the arm rolled up sleeves. That's basically it. And I think it's orange cause everything's, y'know, on fire.
That specific picture doesn't look like volgin. But there are other scenes where you can see Volgin's belts of bullets and such. Also, in the gameplay video, ghost volgin is wearing his coat. [sp]kuwabara kuwabara[/sp]

I know the bit you mean, it was in the other TPP trailer, but that seemed to be a different part of the hospital... [editline]29th March 2013[/editline] Here's a comparison: [editline]29th March 2013[/editline] Yeah, now that i look at it again it does look really volgin-y, but i still think it could be ghost snake.
I don't think TPP and GZ are the same game guys.. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1257287
This one looks a lot like volgin to me. This is definitely volgin. Even by the way he walks, he's volgin. But his head looks all crazy.
Nah man, it's Volgin.
Nah man, it's Volgin.
Aight, you've convinced me. It's definitely Volgin.
I don't think TPP and GZ are the same game guys.. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1257287
IIRC, Kojima did say something about the episodic development being more effective and cheaper than the norm. If that's what's happening I just hope each game isn't going to be short.
So we have Big Boss and Ocelot riding on a horse, shooting at ghost Volgin, who is riding on a flaming unicorn. Fucking incredible. Also, that is very reminiscent of older mgs games. Snake riding passenger in a big chase while shooting at things. In mgs1, it's in a car with meryl while shooting down genome soldiers and eventually liquid. Who is driving and shooting at the same time. MGS3, riding in the sidecar of EVA's bike while gunning down everything and the shagohod. MGS4, the scenario happens a couple times.
This one looks a lot like volgin to me. This is definitely volgin. Even by the way he walks, he's volgin. But his head looks all crazy.
It looks kind of like he's wearing Psycho Mantis's gas mask.
It looks kind of like he's wearing Psycho Mantis's gas mask.
No not really, his eyes are just glowing. [sp]Though considering a child Psycho Mantis is making an appearance as an antagonist...[/sp]
The interview with Kojima is up! http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/84h9k6/metal-gear-solid-v--the-phantom-pain-kojima-interview - Kojima had been planning this ruse for at least two years. - The dude playing Joakim was real, not CG. - Ground Zeroes and TPP both make up MGSV, but they still haven't decided how to distribute them. - They chose not to rehire Hayter because Kojima feels that MGS5 will be a "recreation" of the MGS series and he wants the voice acting to reflect this. - The "horn" on Big Boss's face is debris embedded into his skull. - The title of MGSV uses a Roman numeral this time because, again, he wants to reinvent the series. "V" also represents "victory" against Western games. - You only play as one character. - Kojima still can't confirm or deny the game's appearance on next-gen consoles, but it is targeted for the PS3 and 360. - He wants this to be his last MGS game... :v:
this will definitely not be the last mgs game lol
So whatever actor is replacing Hayter is definitely fit for the job. They want him to matter. And so Ground Zeroes will be MGSV in a sort of prologue way. It will be a full game that leads up to the events that lead to Phantom Pain, but it won't be as big. Not a problem, two full metal gear solids is better than one. oooh, and if this is his last game, I can't wait to see what kojima will do next I mean, ZoE 3 is already in development. hnnng
This being his last MGS would explain why KojiPro Red was created. Maybe they'll take the reigns.
I have a good feeling that Gray Fox will return in MGSV. In the 1980s, he went with Boss to Africa.
The only voice actor who should replace Hayter in this event would be Richard Doyle, since he voiced old big boss. It would be really weird seeing snake with big bosses voice. Im still not trusting what Kojima says entirely though.
Although, if they do end up continuing this "reinvention" of Metal Gear into the MSX games, they had still better bring Hayter back. There's no way Solid Snake could be anyone other than him.
Whoever takes the voice of Boss is probably going to great. The voice matters, they know this. I'm sure Boss' new voice will be fitting. [sp]who knows, we might even like it more than hayter[/sp]
- They chose not to rehire Hayter because Kojima feels that MGS5 will be a "recreation" of the MGS series and he wants the voice acting to reflect this.
so then why is the japanese voice actor the same still calling bullshit.
[sp]who knows, we might even like it more than hayter[/sp]
I doubt that. [editline]29th March 2013[/editline]
so then why is the japanese voice actor the same still calling bullshit.
This. This. Fucking this. Ive been saying it everywhere and nobody is listening.
they will deny it up until release and then his very first line of dialogue will be david hayter saying 'kept you waiting huh?' calling it now
Ive been saying it everywhere and nobody is listening.
I have acknowledged it. But maybe the matter is completely different on the english version than the japanese.
I will say, Kojima is a master at fucking with his fanbase to the point where he really wouldnt need to advertise a game further because it advertises itself. [editline]29th March 2013[/editline]
I have acknowledged it. But maybe the matter is completely different on the english version than the japanese.
What. That doesnt make any sense. [editline]29th March 2013[/editline] Why would the japanese developer change the english voice actor to refresh the series but keep the japanese voice actor?
