That would be fucking awesome though. For example you just check Steam with no warning and Half Life Ep 3 comes out.
They can't do this because they need to release a trailer, in other words. if no one knows about it no one will buy it :) or at least less people will
In five years, Valve time.
Something tells me they won't show anything for a long time. A good reason for that would be that they are working on "Source 2.0".
They said they'd announce something in late 2009 and they'd release late 2010.
Just in Gabe said he would release it when he reached his goal on Weight Watchers
Just in Gabe said he would release it when he reached his goal on Weight Watchers
Yup, it really will never come out.
22nd December 2012.
But the calendar ends december 31st 2009.
I would love ValvE if- Fake L4D3 trailer, turns into an Episode 3 trailer at the end.
http://flygabenewell.blogspot.com/
is that...a headcrab on his head?
Regarding the fact that everyone is highly upset with L4D and L4D2 because Valve rushed it, If you are so worried about Ep3 then stay cool and wait for it, I'm sure they want it to be amazing.

I want this game to have a ending...With a Bang

Ep3 should be released soon and it should be good. They have been working on it for like.....forever.
E3 seems like a good time to release it. I mean, what else could they have?
The Episodes were supposed to be this trend-setting way of pleasing fans without having to wait years for a full sequel.... THAT worked out well.
Next Thursday probably. Valve time.
In the year 2525... if humanities still alive.
Valve is going to release Ep3 But not show it in the steam store or release a retail version. You have to find the link hidden somewhere on the steam forums to put it into the store to buy the game.
When its done
When they feel like it. With L4D2 out of the way, it may be time for them to start going full steam ahead with EP3. But really, I wouldn't be surprised that this will take longer to create because this is, afterall, the final episode until they begin talk on a HL3. They need to make an epic conlcusion to an epic series.
Poll needs a "Never (VALVe time withholding)" option.
When the Infection starts..after 2 weeks.
2010 + valve time
I know this has been mentioned before, but I check Steam every day, too make sure Valve didn't pull a trick on me and releasing without telling. [editline]01:50PM[/editline] But in the end, they can take their time. I'm expecting at least 15 hours of gameplay of EP3, like the HL2 campaign, but a bit longer.
They better be doing something really fucktastic to take all this time...
If they are making a game as long as Half life 2, then think time-wise on how long they are going to take on it. Say it took 4 years to make all the generic models and the source engine, that leaves three years of creation time afterwards. If Ep.3 is going to be as long, then it's going to take a shorter time since they already have the base engine and models, so i say it'll take around 4 years to make. this does put it to 2012, but it'll be worth the wait. Hopefully.

Hopefully.
It took that long because the game got leaked. Based on what they've been pumping out recently their getting stuff out a lot faster. Obviously this is a big deal and their gonna take time but unless there's a horrible leak anytime soon a realistic and logical estimate would be late 2011 at the most for a release. Info-wise their going to save it up for something in the middle of the year. Robin said he wanted to do more for left4dead so DLC is obviously in the works to avoid another boycott (that would fail horribly anyway) and to keep the community focused on something long enough to actually place a date and decide on what's going to be said. I estimate middle of 2010. I doubt it will be at xmas (this year) since it would distract people from the sales and what-not. Early next year if we're lucky. But depending on who's going to what convention, possibly E3. It all depends on what the other companies have lined up.
They better be doing something really fucktastic to take all this time...
Yea The ending credits of Ep3 have Gabe stripping in the backround
Yea The ending credits of Ep3 have Gabe stripping in the backround
I'm not sure if I should buy Ep3 for game-play, or not buy it because of Gabe.
