Only HL does the "interactive" cutscene and I think it's the worst, because instead of standing there listening I'm off jumping on boxes + couches like a retard and it actually makes it less immersive.
HL2 style first person cutscenes might have been cool too. I mean we have the technology. Ninja Jlea, damn you. I meant we could still control the camera and whatnot, it'd just be cool to actually be in the cutscene and not a hovering camera.
Why? Almost every singleplayer FPS works like that.
Most of them have cutscenes as the main points of plot progression with just the shooting in between, or not much other than a bit of pointless dialogue. With conversations jumping to third person and the normal cutscenes it might jump a bit too often. Maybe for peaceful bits with a lot of conversations, the player is kept in third person until it gets back to the action. Easier to differentiate story intensive bits from shooty bits by perspective.
Only HL does the "interactive" cutscene and I think it's the worst, because instead of standing there listening I'm off jumping on boxes + couches like a retard and it actually makes it less immersive.
I think it goes both ways depending from person to person. I find the ability to be able to walk around or go off and read clipboards, monitors, and look around in general that gives me immersion. To know I could go off and do that lets me play the character the way I think he should be played. Or if I am replaying the game, the ability to run around and stack boxes to climb to places to see what the developers blocked off. I think the freedom to do that in HL is what makes me love it so much. It is like Will Wright said. People don't talk about the game's story; they talk about their experiences and their stories in the game. I think generally it is better to let the player move around during story moments. But, I believe there has yet to be a Source game that uses cut scenes (To my knowledge) and I am all for trying new things in the engine.
You could do both thirdperson cutscenes for major plot developement and short first person cutscenes for more minor or involving conversations or events.

Does Kinect capture finger motion?
Does Kinect capture finger motion?
no, and only very basic foot rotation or whatever
I think you should include space drugs and you can sell them for space dollars to buy space guns to shoot space cops with when they raid your space pirate ship.

Yeah kinects are pretty choppy
Yeah kinects are pretty choppy
It's because the hardware cost MS about $10, just like anything they make.
