I couldn't find any active thread about Mafia II, so I decided to make one! If there's anything you want to be added to the OP send me a PM. Basic Information: Mafia II is an action crime game that follow the life of World War II Veteran Vito Scaletta from 1945 to 1955 in Empire Bay, as he climbs the ranks of the Mafia with his buddy Joe Barbaro. He is forced into the Mafia because he needs to pay for his family's debts, but during the game the ''Family'' will become more important than his own. You will begin as a hired gun for the Mafia and you will eventually become a Made-Man. The story begins with the player character Vito returning home from World War II. Vito had joined the U.S. military as a way of avoiding jail time for a botched robbery. Vito reunites with his old friend, Joe Barbaro, and the two quickly embark upon a life of crime. Their criminal ascension starts with Mikey, a car mechanic who gets in a conflict with Joe. Mikey also needs a certain type of car to chop for parts, and will pay $400 for one that the police are not tailing. Soon enough, Vito, Joe, and Henry Tomasino (already a made man) find themselves battling with, for, against, and around three crime factions: the Falconi, Vinci and Clemente families. There are many factors than effect your wanted level e.g. your car can be wanted because you used it as a getaway vehicle, changing to a different car or giving the car a new paint job will make sure the cops won't bother you any more or if the cops saw your clothes, changing your suit will have the same effect. Making a quick getaway thought an alleyway is also very effective, just make sure the cops don't recognize you on the way home. Mission Structure: A mission in Mafia II takes one day of game time to complete, it works like this: Stage 1, Morning: You get a briefing of what you're going to do and you have to do a small bit of the mission. Stage 2, Afternoon: This is where the real work starts, here you take care of business. Stage 3, Evening: The last part of the mission A.K.A. pay-day! Bonuses: • Vegas Pack (GameStop): Get a taste of old school Vegas in this new DLC pack from Mafia II. Bring a taste of Vegas to Empire Bay as you cruise through the town in two new cars with smooth handling and timeless lines. Vito shows his Vegas style in two new suits inspired by movies and music of the time. • War Hero Pack (GameStop): The ‘40s wouldn't be complete without a war hero. Vito plays the role well in the War Hero DLC pack. Drive two military style vehicles and notice the superior handling in all weather conditions. Vito looks sharp in two new military outfits, including fatigues and a dress uniform. • Renegade Pack (Amazon): Show off your inner renegade in this new DLC pack. Start with two new cars, one with the slick styling and tight handling of a small sports coupe and the other with the revved up engine of a ‘50s hot rod. Outfit Vito in two new suits, including leather and lettermen's jackets to fit his renegade persona. • Greaser Pack (Best Buy): Free access to the in-game downloadable content pack that is all about speed. These two new hot-rod speedsters will win you pink slips every time. Pair them with two new outfits for Vito -- a leather jacket with heavy boots, and a leather racing suit -- and get your engines revving. • Made-man Pack (Collector's Edition): Free access to in-game downloadable pack that lets players get behind the wheel of two different luxury automobiles modeled after cars from the period. In addition, Vito will look the part with two new "made man" suits, including a vintage tux. I think this is a repost, but did they release anything on how customizable the character will be? As in his outfit, car, etc.?
GTA4: 1945 edition.
I think this is a repost, but did they release anything on how customizable the character will be? As in his outfit, car, etc.?
No, I made it myself. The customization in this game is quite big actually. You can pimp cars like in SR2 and there are lots of different clothes. new clothes are added constantly because the game is played though a 10 year period.
GTA4: 1945 edition.
Your worse than the fucking RDR = GTA:horse. Ontopic, I have to chose between this and NV, cant decide.
GTA4: 1945 edition.
Mafia 1 went out very shortly after GTA3, and was completely superb to it, and imo still overly better than Vice City. Mafia existed along with GTA, so you can't say it's really copying it.
Sorry, didn't notice that.
No problem, search has been wonky for a while.
Im gonna have a great winter with NV and this :science:
Im gonna have a great winter with NV and this :science:
Sound like a plan, dude. I certainly can't wait to play both,
I cannot wait for this game. It'll be awesome.
Im gonna have a great winter with NV and this :science:
What's NV?
What's NV?
Fallout: New Vegas
Look at the grapzordhs
will this game ever get released
I preordered this game awhile ago, I can't wait for it. The snow looks beautiful in the video. I'm also really looking forward to the law system and driving system
Shouldn't realistic weapon cycling be a standard these days?
The OP is now updated with Info from E3. [editline]09:36PM[/editline]
Shouldn't realistic weapon cycling be a standard these days?
Beta.
I'm curious how a demo would work.
It could be freeplay with only a couple parts of the city unlocked, although no one has done that recently.
I'm loving this game all ready.
I didn't enjoy the first Mafia very much because of its driving sections (damn you historical accuracy) but it looks like they've improved that. I'm not sure how my 8800gt will run it though.
I'm curious how a demo would work.
I guess they'll let us play one mission with a 10 minute cap like most open-world games. And I added some confirmed & unconfirmed weapons.
I added the new Dev Diary: ''The World of Mafia II'', it's the first video in the video section.
I didn't enjoy the first Mafia very much because of its driving sections (damn you historical accuracy) but it looks like they've improved that. Agreed, Mafia's historical accuracy was the shit in my opinion. Keep it the same, we need diversity not another GTA clone.
