• How to install Mod Loader?

I used to have Mod Loader when version 1.4 was out, but then Minecraft got updated to 1.5 so I had to reinstall it. When I reinstalled it, I get black screen. I've tried about 1000 different methods, 1000 times. I followed Risugami's instructions exactly, I've tried using other people's advice, I've watched a bunch of tutorial videos, I'm positive I'm using the correct version... I just don't know what to do. I've basically given up now. If anyone has any ideas on how I could get it to work, it would be greatly appreciated because there aren't many fun mods that you can use without Mod Loader.
List every step you've took to try and install it.
List every step you've took to try and install it.
Well the first thing I did (because it worked before) is used a program called Minecraft Jar tool to install it. After that didn't work I literally followed these steps exactly:
1) Go to Applications>Utilities and open terminal. 2) Type in the following, line by line:
cd ~ mkdir mctmp cd mctmp jar xf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar
3) Outside of terminal, copy all the files and folders into the mctmp directory. 4) Back inside terminal, type in the following:
rm META-INF/MOJANG_C.* jar uf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar ./ cd .. rm -rf mctmp
5) Run Minecraft, enjoy!
And I've tried that at least 3 times to make sure I didn't make a mistake.
Well, I don't know much about that tool to be perfectly honest, it sounds like a version of TFC's Mod Manager. Have you at all tried the recommended way, of openining minecraft.jar in Winrar, and putting the files in like that? And then, deleting META-INF?
