Hooray, finally got accepted in the beta! Weekend confirmed.
So, anyone found any Engineer -specific one-handed wrenches? Or are they all two-handed maces? What a shame if so, since the concept art shows an engineer with a shield and wrench.
Gonna have another run through on Veteran difficulty.
Took me 7 hours to finish beta. Was lot of fun.
Anybody care to show me where i could apply for/download the beta for Torchlight 2? [editline]20th May 2012[/editline] Nevermind, found it, can't wait to play it.
So i've been playing Torchlight 1 on normal and I am just a fucking tank. Got a lvl 23 Embermage and my spells make everyone explode in one or two hits. [editline]20th May 2012[/editline] Too easy.
Got in! Downloading right now.

[editline]20th May 2012[/editline] Too easy.
It really is overly easy on normal mode. Hard mode is more what I'd call normal. I think I played on easy mode once, just for the sake of getting the achievement for beating the game in less than 5 hours.
I'm a cool kid and bought it from the physical store. I got cool box art and no Steam DRM, but still missed out on achievements. Which reminds me, will I be able to purchase Torchlight 2 in a physical boxed form?
i want this game now, cant wait 2 months for it :(
oh god playing outlander can be hell sometimes spent like 10 minutes kiting general grell
oh god playing outlander can be hell sometimes spent like 10 minutes kiting general grell
weird, I thought Grell was one of the easier bosses. in fact the last boss was the easiest for me and the first one was the hardest :\
Are they going to add more character customization options?
weird, I thought Grell was one of the easier bosses. in fact the last boss was the easiest for me and the first one was the hardest :\
It's not that it wasn't easy (I got hit a grand total of once by Grell) it just takes fucking foreveeerrr
Only thing I am not liking is the fogginess in the visuals, even when indoors, so it isn't an environmental effect. Anybody knows how to get rid of it? I thought it is bloom, but it still shows when I uncheck bloom.
I wish there were 'social' equipment slots ala Terraria that would allow you to wear an armour set without any stats ontop of your actual armour pieces. Would make playing engineer all that satisfying when instead of a mix and match leather armour you had a badass Platemail all the time. Also if you liked the look of earlier armour pieces you could keep them in the social slot but still keep upgrading.
[t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9673253/Images/Screenshots/cb_desc.png[/t] This doesn't seem like a very creative item description. It's not that important, but it still feels nice. [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9673253/Images/Screenshots/gems.png[/t] So this is why they tell you to use your gems in the loading screens.
[t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9673253/Images/Screenshots/cb_desc.png[/t]
Somehow the look of that thing reminds me of the vault uniforms from the Fallout games
I wonder if they made Torchlight II so that it'll run on just about anything, including a toaster like Torchlight could.
Are they going to add more character customization options?
If not, the assloads of mods will.
Are dungeons randomly generated? First 2 dungeons' layout was COMPLETELY changed when I played for the second time.
Are dungeons randomly generated? First 2 dungeons' layout was COMPLETELY changed when I played for the second time.
Yes they are, outside areas as well. But unlike Diablo 3, they only seem to get generated only once per playthrough, not every time you start playing. So like in Diablo 2 pretty much.

Played the stresstest a bit yesterday. Preordered today. Can't wait to play this in LAN with my friends. We're currently doing Diablo 2 but this is definitely on the list after we beat it. It's also perfect for the more casual players of our group since we can just bump the difficulty down a notch if it gets too difficult for them. That or we'll do the same as we did in Diablo 2 and delegate them to the back lines for ranged support to keep them out of the harms way.

Playing the stresstest atm. Wanna play with me send me a PM, just started. Also, I am playing the engi now, and it's awesome. So much ways to go with the builds.
Since I can't play Diablo 3 due to having an ancient PC, TL2 was the answer to my ARPG prayers and I'm loving every second of it. My only gripes are that it's still too easy to become ridiculously overpowered much like in TL1. Playing on Veteran no less and having a cannon wielding Engie just rapes everything but the bosses, it did jack shit to General Grell for instance. But, god damn... the gibs, the ultra fast player movement, the spell effects, and the overall art style of the game is just really appealing. I do miss ragdolls from Titan Quest but I can live without them since enemy deaths still grant satisfaction from how they're thrown around. I'd buy this in a heartbeat if I had the money. edit: Also, is the game a massive CPU hog for anyone else?
Funny thing, my PC can play D3 smoothly but I get some slowdowns in Torchlight 2 when there is too many spell spamming enemies on the screen. Changing visuals to medium barely helped too.
Then don't play on Normal, try Elite Hardcore and then you won't think so
Then don't play on Normal, try Elite Hardcore and then you won't think so
Engineer seems to be a lot more self-sustained than other classes, I'm constantly low on potions on my Outlander while I had about 90 large potions of both kinds on Engineer when I finished the game. [editline]20th May 2012[/editline] This is on Veteran, not Elite, though
