I played FM3 yesterday and after a few months with LFS, iRacing, and S2:U with a Logitech G27, I completely failed at every attempt at driving with a controller. I used to be setting top 100 times, now I can't even get around Silverstone with a valid lap.
After a lot of testing in Forza 3 I figured out the main problem with the physics. Tire physics are all wrong in transitions, they simply don't 'bite' when you change directions fast. Watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvT1fA1ZB4U You simply can't slalom like that in Forza, you'll lose grip after the first turn. This is also why cars feel so easymode, because the weight transfer is numbed out. Cars don't really snap in Forza like they do in real life. Hopefully Forza 4 will fix this.
Any signs of weight transfer yet?
It's definitely improved from Forza 3 but I'm not sure how much. They claim to be using real tire data from Pirelli but that doesn't necessarily mean they've fixed it. The suspension physics in Forza 3 were terrible for example and they haven't said much about improving those.
I think the reason for lack of grip "bite" is the lack of weight transfer to the outside tires. Let's see if they fixed it this time around.
I don't own an Xbox, nor have money for the console or game, but I hope they put this in the game I'm a ER34 fag
So is this going to work with Kinect then? And if so, does anyone know how well it works with Kinect?
So is this going to work with Kinect then? And if so, does anyone know how well it works with Kinect?
FM4 uses Kinect for the Autovista mode, the microphone for voice-shortcuts through the menus, and using it for head-tracking and steering in races.
Lol >turn head right >head turns ingame >cant see tv
Lol >turn head right >head turns ingame >cant see tv
>turn eyes towards TV >can see again :v: Oh god, so much oversteer in these posts.

Do we have to use kinect or can we still use the old xbox and controllers?
Obviously you can still use a controller. I doubt anyone will actually use kinect to drive.

There are literally 23 of the exact same skyline R34 in it.
There's not a single ER34 (GT-T) in GT5 except for the Blitz D1 cars, only BNR34 (GT-R). And i personally like that there's a lot of them, so you can get exactly the one you want (V-Spec, M-Spec, N1 etc.). And i really hope they finally fixed the R32 headlights and the R34 taillights in FM4.
Huh?
R32's headlights are way too big and the R34's taillights don't light up the way they're supposed to when braking.
Oh and you can use the Kinect for some Easy mode where all you do is steer, and the game auto gas and brakes. [editline]14th September 2011[/editline] gayyyy.

[editline]14th September 2011[/editline] gayyyy.
I just want headtracking and Autovista for fucking around. My 4 year old nephew would love to be able to drive with his hands, he's wanted to play a racing game with me for the longest time.
R32's headlights are way too big and the R34's taillights don't light up the way they're supposed to when braking.
Funny that, I was just playing today and wondered why the R32 looked so weird. That and the fact that you can barely lower it are two things I hope they sort out this time.

The only reason I regret selling my Xbox. Forza> Need for Speed. Which was great until everything became a re-adaption of Minutes to Midnight.

One's a simulator and the other is a game that is good only for their cars and graphics.
I bought a PS3 only because of GT5. I was so fucking disappointed that I can't even begin to describe it.
I bought a PS3 just for GT5 too. Somehow, I wasn't dissapointed at all :v: I still play it. [editline]17th September 2011[/editline] I'll certainly get this game too.
I know this wouldn't happen in a million years, but I think it would be badass if they let the Crown Vic interceptor be in the game. Swap in 5.4L's, 351's, 427's, 460's, or w/e. People love to make police paint jobs on cars and stuff, it would be sick to have an actual police car in the game and you can modify the hell out of it and race it. Fuck yeah. They put in a Volkswagen Fox, why can't they put in a Crown Vic?
There'll be a whining shitfest on the forums. All people on the Forza forums want is more of the same Ferraris or Corvettes. When they announced the Prius there was a massive shitstorm of retards canceling their preorders and having sobbing fests because the Prius isn't a racecar
I love it when racing games include common cars in a game. That way I can tune the fuck out of them to get a 2 second 0-60 time.
I love it when racing games include common cars in a game. That way I can tune the fuck out of them to get a 2 second 0-60 time.
This, so much. Mid engined supercars are a dime a dozen and aren't particularly interesting to tune/upgrade because they're already fast, but crappy common cars are the most interesting and fun to mess with and chuck around. Also when you make a crappy car go stupid fast it's a lot harder and more exciting to make it controllable.

If we were to get a Crown Vic based car, it'd probably end up being the Mercury Marauder rather than the Crown Vic interceptor, because the Vic would probably be a sub-100PI car when stock.
