I tuned an Alfa Romeo Spider up to B-class. It isn't very fast, but it corners pretty well But I have a problem... Whenever I hit a curb at a certain angle, this happens. The curb I hit in the screenshot is next to the Mercedes. Is this just my fault or is there something in the tune setup that I can change?
Some curbs are just killers. There's a curb near the downhill straightaway on Maple Valley Full which causes at least one player to flip over in every race.
what car? or have you not decided yet? its a good idea, anyways.
Right now I'm working on a cheap car with cheap upgrades, so people won't have to pay too much in order to participate. I've decided it will be traditional hot lap though, maybe next time it'll be a drift lap or something.
Is this just my fault or is there something in the tune setup that I can change?
I noticed some cars are way more affected by curbs than others, softening the suspension can help, and if I recall correctly, lowering dampening and bump stiffness a little bit can go a long way. You'll still have to try not to hit curbs in that car though, just hopefully it'll keep you from flipping as easily.

King Cobra! Or you can wait so you can make it a Pinto race.
King Cobra! Or you can wait so you can make it a Pinto race.
or maybe renault 5 turbos.
Hey guys, I was a really big fan of Gran Turismo 4s career mode, where you earned money for completing tracks and bought cars with it or used the money to tune your current cars. And I was wondering, does this game have something like that? I might pick it up when I get some more money.
I'm almost done tuning the competition car. Also, each player gets their own "storefront" to sell their created content for in-game credits, things like custom paint schemes and tuning setups which you can buy.

Gonna get this now.
Ok guys, here is the car you will be using: Reasons being: *Cheap *Makes a nice sound *Reasonably fast from its own power *Doesn't drive like trash with minimal upgrades *Less likely to be thrown out after the event because it's a decent car I've uploaded the tune setup and my lap time replay on my storefront; search for my gamertag "ObscureThought" or custom text "fpattack" I'm going to post more specifics on how things will work out soon, but at least you can now get some practice/lap times in. Can't decide whether or not to allow "dirty" lap times. [editline]g[/editline] Oh, speaking of which, the track for the event is "Camino Viejo Extreme." You can race the sunset version of it too if you want, it's still the same track. The tune setup is mandatory for the event.
I just got this game, and fuck I love it. I havent tried multiplayer seriously, and by that I mean actually raced, the first time I just was shitting around in my super fucking upgraded prius against R1s trying not to get hit. Somehow I came in 6th out of 8th. Also I have no idea how to really tune cars outside of just auto upgrades, can someone explain it to me?
Alright, the event is now underway! http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1151251?p=33959265
I just got this game, and fuck I love it. From there you can put parts in your car like any other racing game - you can also do conversions such as putting more powerful engines from other cars into it. If you want to be able to control your car I recommend you put slick tires and the forza front bumper and spoiler on it. As far as actual "tuning" goes, it's hard to explain in just one post without a specific question being asked about it. Here's a pretty decent guide, though.
Did a couple laps in the event S2000. This is actually a lot harder than I thought it would be. I'm having a hard time getting a fast and clean lap in. It's definitely not my normal type of car.
i so fucking regret i sold my xbox 360 and got myself a ps3 fUCK
Which is better?
I think the Microsoft wheel is less cheaply built - and I think it has force feedback.
Where can I get this game cheap? Amazon has it for $40. Is it as low as I can find it? [editline]30th December 2011[/editline]
I think the Microsoft wheel is less cheaply built - and I think it has force feedback.
Does it have the shifting knob thing?
I got a PS3 wheel as a gift that costs $80 that had it. It only went back and forth though, not a full pattern. [editline]30th December 2011[/editline] I looked at the madcatz one and for my budget, I'm going with the Microsoft wheel.
I got a PS3 wheel as a gift that costs $80 that had it. It only went back and forth though, not a full pattern.
Ah, thought you meant the H-pattern shifter. Some wheels do have sequential stick shifters - my old Thrustmaster NASCAR wheel had a sequential forward/back stick shift and paddle shifters.
Ah, thought you meant the H-pattern shifter. On that PS3 wheel I only used the paddle things anyways. And since the Microsoft wheel has force feedback, I'm going with that. [editline]30th December 2011[/editline] I can't find the wheel on the Xbox, Microsoft, or Gamestop websites. Do they make it anymore and how much would it cost?

If anyone's looking for a Microsoft Wireless wheel, I have a spare one laying around that I could sell. I need to make monies to buy a CSR Elite. I can't play FM4 until I get a wheel, having to keep myself awake to play isn't comfortable at all.
If anyone's looking for a Microsoft Wireless wheel, I have a spare one laying around that I could sell.
How much were you looking to get for it?
Stuff that happens when I race online.
How much were you looking to get for it?
Don't know, $70?
Stuff that happens when I race online.
1:04 is my favorite. Renault Clio attempts to pass.
Don't know, $70?
I'M THROWING MY MONEY AT THE SCREEN BUT IT'S NOT DOING ANYTHING!
I just did my first "serious" race in a group D - S (or A? I forgot...) on multiplayer. I intended to use my tuned nissan GTR (thanks to n0cturni for showing me the guide) but the game decided no so I used my untuned chevy camaro irocz and came in first. Some asshole in a replica of the driver san fran challenger was ramming into me but he spun out.
Might not have been posted but the reason Ferrari appears in few games is they have a policy of appearing in only +3 games.
For anyone who wants to race but doesn't already know, I'm hosting a time attack event. Link is in page king; just updated the times.
I just bought FM4, add me on live.
