I had 74 smithing before i heard about it. Did it the next day. But still... You need to add at least SOME rp to it, or it will just be lame.
To be honest, as awesome as skyrim is in general the RP elements are placed backseat to most everything else in the game. I'd rather have limited rp elements compared to no rp elements, but its not something people should be taking seriously if bethesda themselves dont really take them seriously. Smithing is a cool idea but you can tell they haven't really fleshed it out too well, in a number of ways. If it had a few refinements to it, then you wouldn't even need to exploit the system to get it up to 100
Holy crap, Skyrim actually went on sale. 33% off.

The better and harder it is to craft the item, the more experience it should give.
I keep trying to download skyrim, but when I try and install it steam says the servers are too busy. And it has been like this for 2 hours and I checked the stats on the website and it wasn't on peak. What to do?

Not this lousy shit. ~Oh boy, look at me mummy, I made 500 daggers, now i can make the most epic armor available, even better than the local blacksmith can, even though he has been doing this for years and i started a week ago.~
oh my fuck can someone help me out here i'm trying to do the trick where you pay a trainer a ton of cash to train you, then just pickpocket it back. Problem is it never works. I've got level 4/5 on the light fingers perk, the 25% easier to pickpocket gold perk, and the sleeping pickpocket perk. I tried to pickpocket a sleeping trainer, while crouched and hidden, about 10 times (quick saving and quick loading). Was caught every time. So what am I doing wrong?
Both in the main and the college of Winterhold quest line, I am now forced to go to a Dwemer ruin, but I am only level 18.
Both in the main and the college of Winterhold quest line, I am now forced to go to a Dwemer ruin, but I am only level 18.
I think you got your games mixed up, this is Skyrim not Morrowind. You could go in a Dwemer ruin at level 1 and still complete it, level 18 is more than enough to do them, especially the ones designed specifically for the main quest.
Alchemy is OP at high levels. [editline]1st January 2012[/editline]
You could go in a Dwemer ruin at level 1 and still complete it
If you leg it through, the Ruins with the Falmer are seriously tough at lower levels and their Charus are near invincible.

It has an extremely low chance when you try to pickpocket a large amount of gold (over 1k). At the bottom of your screen, about 2/3 from the left, there is a %. If it sais 0% chance, then you can't pickpocket it.
I've tried googling but I can't find anything about it. Do summons level up with you? Familiar is dying easily and there are no perks that say they make it stronger except the 50% bonus at around 40 or 50.
Just moved the OS to an SSD, so Steam had to get its shit together. Now Skyrim is not loading, saying "program could not open because d3dx9_43.dll is missing from your computer". I downloaded that, but now it's not even launching. Any fixes other than re-installation?
I love Pickpocketing 100. All Whiterun guards are now unarmed balding men in their underwear.
Can't wait till I get home, going to restart this on my new rig. I've finished the main storyline already as well as the College and a few of the thieves guild quests and most of the dark brotherhood quests. I'm kinda running out of stuff to do and I think maybe starting again and doing stuff in another order could help out.
I keep worrying that I will run out of perks. I want to be able to have Smithing, Enchanting, Destruction and possible One Handed maxed out with the majority of the perks, is this possible?
Reinstalling after changing some components, anyone with i5 2500k here? Want to know if performance on quad cores have been improved.
Reinstalling after changing some components, anyone with i5 2500k here? Want to know if performance on quad cores have been improved.
probably not, the game only utilizes 2 cores if I remember correctly - I'm getting a 2500k too and even though it might not be able to use the 3rd and 4th core, depending on what you're upgrading from you're still going to see a big performance increase
I love enchanting the mundane items in my inventory, like my pick and axe. Sapping Axe - 15 Stamina Damage or so. Pick of Fear - Fear up to level 15(?)
I recently got mehrunes razor and it's fucking awesome, it instantly kills everything with one hit including dragons
Makes the end fight anti-climactic. Not that it was all that epic anyways. [editline]1st January 2012[/editline]
I've tried googling but I can't find anything about it. Do summons level up with you? I'm moving my savegames from one folder to another; they don't work. The older ones do, the ones before the patches. They work fine. But my latest ones, from when 1.3.1 came out to now, just crash on load. Help?
That'd be hell, I'm roleplaying as a mage so I took myself straight to winterhold college at level 1 and I'm getting raped up the ass by draugr.
That's one of the things I hate, that magic spells don't scale at all. I haven't done a pure-mage play-through since the option to make your own spells is gone. [editline]1st January 2012[/editline]
I wish I'd started my character differently, but I don't want to play through the whole game again. There were only a couple of choices I'd amend, such as joining the Imperials rather than the Stormcloaks (being a Breton I had no place there), and combining shock magic with Spellbreaker instead of fire magic and a sword. Oh well.
Always keep a Master Save!
I'm working through my mage playthrough right now. I'm a level 12 and have a pretty high destruction level so i'm making it work well so far. But by focusing on leveling up my magic, it's left everything else in the dumps. Sucks.

Lydia is pretty good to use as a ranged/caster and is easy to get early on. (Try not to hurl too many area spells like Fireball and Ice Storm if she's in a fight.) Here's also a list of followers and their stats if you wanna pick anybody else. I'll see which companion I prefer. I've been doing pretty good lone wolfing it so far. I know I'm going to need someone in the future though.
guys what the fuck i just bought skyrim but the game wont show up in my steam library also money did go off my bank account. where is game
