least you're not on the Bay12 server. That thing has Z-levels. As in stairs that take you up or down a floor.

Added my first custom admin command and also enabled the dynamic ticklag setting for admins
Which server was that on? The admin shouldn't have jobbanned you because, afterall, you did what a clown is supposed to do; Pull pranks and save the station. Also, aren't you allowed to pretty much fuck a traitor up if you know he is a traitor. He told you he was, so even if you had killed him you shouldn't have been jobbanned.
Killing people isn't pranking.
Killing people isn't pranking.
Exactly. Pranking is doing things like putting mousetraps in backpacks, or stealing people's shoes. If you kill people, or otherwise stop them from being able to do their job (E.G. Stealing IDs) That is griefing. Don't do it.
People think being a clown/mime is a free-ticket to grief around a server
People think being a clown/mime is a free-ticket to grief around a server
Aye, it isn't. But people also gotta stop griefing the clown without a reason. I've seen it happen, both sides end up griefing each other and it never works out.
Hacking vending machines to shoot cheese honkiers at passersby is a good prank, too. unless they actually do damage.
Hacking vending machines to shoot cheese honkiers at passersby is a good prank, too. unless they actually do damage.
They deal actual brute damage Cuffbuckling people to a bed in front of one is a viable means of elimination It once knocked me into crit in 20 hits
Killing people isn't pranking.
If I read it right, he didn't kill anyone.
Although if you're stupid enough to stand in front of a vending machine shooting full cans of soda at your face until you require CPR it would probably be best for you not to be revivied [editline]5th January 2012[/editline] AUTOMERGEEEE
This happened after several wizard rounds in a row. Be a hero of the station and that is the treatment i get :( Also double changeling ALL THE WAY!
Ah, that was you, I was the chemist for that round. Should have had the courage to suicide bomb you that time.
Is the SpacePunch server in the US or EU? Apparently US servers give terrible lag (to the point where it should be measured in seconds instead of milliseconds). Anyway going to apply for whitelist and play later tonight.
So i'm kinda lazy and don't want to send mail out here are the people who got accepted Vbitz daid8741 Bromega The Great Skeeve yourshadow2q GuyonBroadway Acds
Tbh, I don't really like the atmospherics system on D2K5 1:15 Replace "cloud" with "atmospheric alarm" Numerous rounds have been ended because some dumbshit assistant pried up a single floor tile in some abandoned maintenance storage closet, fifteen minutes later people are smashing into walls, there's blood everywhere, doors are being ripped off their hinges
time to put that to the test then! EDIT: there we go, I opened a window and I'm being smacked to death now, I hope one of the doors breaks and starts screwing shit up.
Blood everywhere and half the station seems to be blown up, forget to keep a close eye on the Oxygen indicator, one less assistant in the world.
>Be electrician >Be god Felt really cool to have all that stuff. Seconds later the entire station blew up. Fucking admins.
How does one become a god?
The answer is within the poo.
Wow damn, Spacestation 13 + DEFCON sound effects is just fucked up
WOW LOOK AT THAT GUY PLAYING GIBBED HEH HEH
Played this a lot less than I wanted to today, but finally got my head around the interactions and controls. One thing I'm wondering though is when is the line between excessive force and not excessive force. For example if some fucker comes at me with a syringe and I beat the shit out of him (possibly killing him), is that excessive or am I justified since whatever was in the syringe was most probably lethal? Or if someone assaults me with intent of murder, am I in the right killing him, or would that be considered excessive? Because nearly all wikis have a lot about not killing whenever possible because it's seen as griefing most often.

On the one hand, it sucks being knocked out of the round for a couple of hours. On the other, it's SS13. It's hard to articulate every circumstance that killing a guy is and isn't acceptable, so I'll just try and convey the general philosophy and hope you can extrapolate from that Self defense is always acceptable. Sometimes calling Security isn't enough, and that asshole trying to strangle you for your slightly higher access ID won't fuck off. Just don't confuse an instance of outright paranoia with one of obvious imminent danger. Syndicate are dangerous! Syndicate are notorious criminals, renowned for their proclivity of raiding and destroying stations not unlike space vikings. Murdering an innocent and claiming he is a Syndicate is actually worse than being a Syndicate yourself, and will not only bring you retribution from the crew, but the gods as well. "I'm crazy!!!1" is shitty roleplaying tossed up to thinly veil the fact that you want to grief the station and not get punished for it. general it's usually better to brig someone than kill them, but circumstances are not always ideal, and the safety of the crew comes before the safety of the proven traitor when all is said and done. I played this game for the first time today and had some fun. I gave some guy a multitool and tryied some guy's rum flavored ice-cream. I then proceeded to black out multiple times over. Near when the shuttle was called, I woke up in an enclosed area that each door was blocked access to me and a guy standing there. I ask him what's happening and then he starts forcing me to drink more booze. I can't talk to anyone on the radio because I make unninteligible mumbles. I tought that it was how I was going to die. In an enclosed area being fed booze. But then a security officer comes in and flashes the guy and brings me to medbay... where I black out again. After waking up with 1 minute left I ask him to bring me to the shuttle before I black out again. He does so and I survived my first round! The problem I have is that I don't know what to do because I don't know how to do things. Even looking at wikis, I still don't know what does what and I'm left wondering what I should do, but I really love the game.
Quoting the /tg/ rules page,
Guessing it's the same (more or less) everywhere, so self defence is always (or almost always) fine then. First I ran into the wrong room and right into a blown apart area with a huge breach (leading to quick death). Second time I was a useless assistant that spent half the match (which was very short, but still) trying to light a cigarette (I did manage in the end though), I also saw the blob first of all but by the time I had turned on the mic on the headset and figured out how to say things someone else barked it on the radio. Last one I was a clown that got into a fight with that police-robot-thing, managed to make someone slip on a peel and then got massacred by a guy with a laser pistol. Going to take on some more interesting role tomorrow (only problem is that I don't know much about what different items do, and I'm a bit wary of going around experimenting, considering I'd probably end up torching the library or something).
