I find it amusing that we're all salivating over a mod that makes guns not work well.
Well, if you ask me, one thing that can make a game feel new is improved models, animations and sounds for weapons, even if statistically they're exactly the same. It's what kept CS:S so fresh for me over the years.

I think they have 4 weapons re-modeled and animated and in-game. It's gonna take them a loooong while to re-do the entire arsenal. probably

You're more immersed into the game because they're replacing all 'pop up notifications' with actual animations.

Pulling the charging handle back looks rather odd; I was trained to tilt the gun so the charging handle is facing upwards then pull it back; and I imagine it holds true for all AK-style guns and similar ones with the handle on the right. Doing from underneath means you might catch something on the mag, and you can't as easily apply as much force to it. Other than that minor thing, an amazing looking gun. EDIT: The video I was going to reply to disappeared, or I forgot what page I was looking at. There was a video here of an AS Val somewhere.

Probably to reflect the VAL's purpose. I'll see if I can find it
Eh, we did all the reloading with the left hand; was always taught to keep the right hand by the trigger. That AK reloading looks sort of overly show-offy, if that makes any sense.

And I don't think that animation was meant for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. anyway, it seemed like it was made for Counter-Strike which has traditionally been a little more "arcade-y" with it's depiction of firearms despite being one of the first "realistic weapons" FPS games.
God damnit clear sky, I can no longer play in DX10 because now my game gets a black screen for 40-50 seconds before actually doing what it's supposed to do (it happens when loading the game up, when loading a save, when changing controls, etc.) I mean I know it doesn't change[I] that much[/I] but i really want wet surfaces, and the sun rays in DX9 are kinda worse looking. Plus i got a 770 now so it runs great, but I just can't stand those hiccups.
