In that case it definitely seems like a respect thing.
It's so weird but so awesome to be able to hear their voices after reading the novels.
Thing is that literally all the other Spartans (even the ones in the team in this very trailer) refer to eachother by name, yet Chief isn't called John.
Sign of respect and acknowledging his leadership probably, because a few seconds before that, Kelly calls Fred by name.

Like ps1 floating point errors. Reach did that too. What's the deal?
I was wondering wtf that was too. I forgot what it was called. Any idea why it happened in reach?
Yeah I was wondering that too. My guess would be that those cutscenes take place so far from the maps origin that extreme close ups cause those kinds of imprecision, but if that's the case, it's weird that they would "film" those cutscenes where they actually took place versus shuffling things around to avoid it. Halo 3 did all sorts of wacky repositioning and show/hiding for its cutscenes, especially for cutscenes with dramatic changes in scale/location such as those quick cuts at the ending with the frigate and Arbiter climbing out of it. There was a really cool video that showed the cutscenes from another camera angle so you could see all of this but I'm having a hard time finding it. [editline]23rd September 2015[/editline] This isn't exactly the video I was thinking of, because I remember the intro and ending cutscenes being shown and those in particular standing out for the weirdness involved, but it's using the same mod.
-map stuff-
Would it be possible to port maps from Halo 4? Since you know the artstyle kinda fits.
The new Covenant "vehicle", the Kraken, is massive.
Hm, when he threw the plasma grenade it exploded on impact on the elite.
IGN uploaded a few videos on Halo 5 https://www.youtube.com/user/HaloIGN/videos
Okay see that Blue Team video? Now THAT'S Halo. Chief and his niggas don't even raise their guns or flinch because they know those elites are already on ice. Fucking 10/10. Like other people said before, thats how real Spartans work: brutal efficiency. Osirus would've done a bunch of pirouettes and been spouting TANGO DOWN while doing kickflips and shit I get it now, I'm actually kind of pumped to play this game now
Am I the only one who thinks it's weird that Kelly has this kind of... English accent? I always imagined her with an almost obnoxious American accent, like lightly Texan or Bostonian or something.

Chief just sounds so...depressed now. Just listen to his tone in the cutscenes.
God damn why do those human weapons sound so weak
It feels so weird to have 4 player co-op be such a big, advertised thing despite being in the series before, even though each of the characters now have their own special abilities and all four matter throughout the game instead of "here's chief, here's arbiter, and here's two elites" It's a nice touch that you hear your character speak directly and the other player characters get a radio effect, though, instead of everyone speaking clearly if they're nearby like in previous games.
Well he did [sp]lose his waifu.[/sp]
Jokes aside the first thing you see him do in that cutscene is run his thumb over the empty Neural Interface port. That's not even symbolism, that's straight up screaming "JOHN IS STILL GRIEVING THE LOSS OF CORTANA."
H5 skulls are back to find before using a la H3, and there are 13 skulls... IGN didn't specify if there were gold or silver skulls, but 13 missions?
Halo 3 had only 10 missions, and Reach had 8. 13 missions is pretty nice, actually.
Everything's jiggling in the close ups. Like ps1 floating point errors. Reach did that too. What's the deal?
While Why485's guess is probably better than mine, I can only assume it's their motion capture methods that could be causing bits of imprecision or something. I think I've seen motion capture do weird jiggling like that before.
Halo 3 had only 10 missions, and Reach had 8. 13 missions is pretty nice, actually.
Not to mention most of those missions are supposedly gonna be an hour+ long.
Honestly though, it's weird to hear Chief giving orders.

Well, mocap jiggling and floating point error jiggling are two different kinds of jiggling.
wrong thread
Eh? [editline]24th September 2015[/editline] Oh.
M8 if you're going to post HTT at least embed it and give the episode art
posted it off my tablet so couldn't do it properly

To me it looks kinda like the affect of heat (like if you look down the road on a hot sunny day). I could be totally wrong but I am pretty sure motion capture rigs don't produce that "wavy" effect.
