The IQ buff is just being able to see echo on his drone fuck off. It's so hard to see anything on her screen I was hoping they made the white outlines more clear. It's impossible to see them on daytime maps. In other news, Hibana can now be bandit tricked Barb wire requires 2 hits to destroy now Client side smoke and debris, all ops get 2 smoke now. Smoke is a lot more dense 2 and 3 speed defense ops won't get ACOGS ever again. Only 1 speed Alive players assume direct control of cameras over dead players Drones can now look more up, players now can use both their drones at once without losing the other. [editline]28th August 2017[/editline] Also, defenders who run out won't be greeted by the orange filter anymore. Good news for those who value clarity.
It's dumb to complain about Elas green hair when almost every player is running around with a bright red, yellow, blue, orange, or green gun while SAS are throwing lethal toxic gas, GSG9 has a drug addict using car batteries as a weapon, Navy Seals are running around with gun shields that don't exist, GEO are running around with magic footprint tracking devices, etc If the game was advertised as being some realistic game I could understand it but the dyed hair shit became a non-issue as soon as weapon skins were put in the game.
I think in regards to the dyed hair there was a discussion earlier on about how tier one operators try to make themselves look non-military. It's not to blend in on operations though, it's to blend in with the civilian population at home so people don't ask you about your service and to conceal your identity as a member of said elite unit. So what better way to conceal your identity as a tier one operator than to dye your hair like a edgy art student?
Smoke grenades and Capitao’s smoke darts have been fully revamped. They are now completely opaque and will be displayed the exact same way on every client, which will make them much more reliable and consistent. We’ve welcomed pro players to test them in our Montreal studio – they’ve found these new smokes to be so strong that we’ve decided to follow their recommendation and lower their amount to 2 per operators that can chose them. This change will also temporarily make Capitao’s smokes grey, instead of blue.
This is Ubisoft literally telling us "not a bug, it's a feature". I mean, I understand they may have been time-constrained, but still, this should be posted in some known issues section. On one hand these patch notes look really good, lots of unexpected fixes and some welcome changes. On the other, they will probably fuck up the game hard, as the smoke example shows. Risky.
I think it goes without saying but the sheer amount of features in this update...holy shit. I'm hyped.

It'd be hard enough in the first place to guess if somebody is in the military unless they're purposely trying to show off.
I just do what crash mentioned a few times and cranked my brightness to like 90. I find that bright areas are just as blinding as any other setting, but dark areas are easily visible.
come the new lighting system i will revise that theory, but i doubt i will go back to low brightness [editline]28th August 2017[/editline]
Oh, the Doc glitch can be utilized by Tachanka too. I think this is a fair change and will make bandit a really solid pick for garage holds. You'll now have to play smarter. Thermite and Hibana are now on a fair playing field. Iunno, Hibana and Thermite are used very differently; I don't think I've ever seen someone pick Hibana over Thermite on, say, Consulate garage because she can't get Bandit tricked and I definitely would not say Thermite was "put into the dumpster."
Not everybody has neon coloured hair, as much as Tumblr and SJW's make you want to believe.
Not everybody has blonde hair either but you wouldn't call that a weird thing. Go to any college or university and you could probably spot a whole ton of people with died hair.
Not everybody has blonde hair either but you wouldn't call that a weird thing. I go to university and yeah, I do see people with dyed hair. They're a minority compared to non-dyed hair and they stand out when compared to others.

If you see someone who has died hair, you wouldn't go "oh wow they have died hair? wow that's really weird, there must be something about them". And that means it passes off for "blending in".
i mean i don't think its arguable that unnatural hair stands out more than natural hair. just like how neon green and pink cars stand out more than your generic black or grey cars.
i mean i don't think its arguable that unnatural hair stands out more than natural hair. just like how neon green and pink cars stand out more than your generic black or grey cars.
Sure, but not to a point that would make people think there's something off about that person. Thus it fits just fine for someone who just wants to look like some random twenty-something and not an elite military operator in their regular life.

What kind of a haircut would you need to be instantly recognized as a member of some Tier One military unit anyway? Unless you buzzed GROM on the back of your head.
I wouldn't care about them regardless, but it's not like brown/blonde hair instantly marks you as a member of something.
Yeah and really neither does any other kind of hair color. Maybe it would have 30 years ago, but not now.
The new smoke effect is incredibly gross and ugly, but it is effective. Other than a simple color swap I don't get what the huge issue with this is.
I think that making smoke more reliable, with same results for other players is great. But I also believe that Capitao's smoke going white is probably an effect of a quick and dirty fix, basically showing bad development practice. Getting fixes is great and really important for a competitive game like Siege, but at the same time practices like this may lead to more bugs.
Thermite has never stopped being good lol. Hibana is just priority and then Therm will get picked after

What kind of a haircut would you need to be instantly recognized as a member of some Tier One military unit anyway? Unless you buzzed GROM on the back of your head.
It doesn't matter anyway, special forces don't follow typical military grooming standards. They can do whatever the fuck they want with their hair because the point is not to have military style buzzcuts so when they're off duty, people don't assume they're military personnel at all. It's easy as fuck to recognize off duty soldiers. I lived in a city near a large military base that had soldiers from all over the world come for training exercises, and even if they were off duty and out of uniform you can tell they're military because of the typical military haircut. Tier one operators don't want to be recognized as military at all when off duty. Green hair isn't going to make you think "she must be a grom operator," it's going to make you think she's anything but military. And if she's on duty in the middle east somewhere and needs to disguise herself? She can wear a scarf on her head like Valkyrie and nobody has to see the green hair.
