Yeah generally anything that can kill you quickly should have an appropriate amount of warning and risk attached. Like Roadhog can kill things really well with his hook combo, but he has to get close to you and he's big, fat, slow, loud as heck and his hook has a huge cooldown. And then we have Widowmaker who sits safely on the other side of the map where she's near impossible to notice before she's already killed you. She can't get punished for mistakes because she's too far away, she's hard to retaliate against and her refire rate is low to boot. But then if she doesn't get headshots fairly consistently she doesn't do crap so having her on your team usually sucks as well. So basically, fuck snipers.
And unlike TF2's Sniper, you can't see where she's aiming. This was my issue with Widow since day 1 of the beta I played, in TF2 you can at least see where the Sniper is looking thanks to the red dot his sniper rifle has.
The only good thing about Widowmaker is that you can play Winston against her and harvest salt
Which is only going to get harder when they reduce the grapple cooldown next patch.

Played a lucioball game before. We were winning 5-2 before my teammates got real cocky and the other team scored up to 5-5. Then the goalie accidentally bumped the ball in our own goal during overtime and we lost...... [editline]15th August 2017[/editline] I love making one-man-show shots [vid]http://1.sendvid.com/39h3wii0.mp4?t=1502809067&h=a9fee1ad653822eb2f76f2514de1477750f6e4c1[/vid]

The higher the widow's skill, the less of a problem a flanker becomes. I've had two or three games where the widow was able to somewhat reliably quickscope the Genji/Tracer dedicated to killing her. Widow's weapon is the most skill-based in the game. The only true method to not being killed by widow as most heroes is to 1) always have 360 degree awareness at all times to see a widow lining up a shot on you from ANY angle, and 2) never, ever present yourself to the widow for even a microsecond in the first place. The first is probably impossible for everybody except a robot, and the second is varyingly possible based on what chokepoint you're stuck in.
And... they added a wall hack if mine gets triggered.(sure Widows only but the mine is made for flankers most of the time)
her abilities often felt a little weak.
:v:
And... they added a wall hack if mine gets triggered.(sure Widows only but the mine is made for flankers most of the time) :v:
She already has the ability to not actively engage in battle and be effective at that. She doesn't need any more. Can someone at Blizzard take away Jeff's ability to buff his waifus?
The problem is that in 99% of FPS games snipers don't get weaker in CQB, they only get harder to play. Put in a player whose half decent at flick aiming and suddenly the intended balance of the weapon gets flipped on its head. It's not realistic but really it should be a standard now in games like TF2 and OW that snipers can't fucking OHK people at close range
So, serious question, would a drone character be inherently broken in Overwatch? As in, a character with very little offensive potential by themselves, but is able to deploy different types of units to control remotely, within a certain range.

Though they'd be stood still while controlling one, similar to riptire, I'd imagine.
it would be useless in dive comp, probably. on defense you'd have a 5v6 bc a player is hiding (4v6 if you have mercy) who would get dived instantly or flanked by tracer and on offense you'd be down a player and have a (probably) weak-ass replacement when you probably could instead be running just another generic dps maybe if the meta changes, but i'd prefer to not have to play against a "kill them but they're not actually dead" sort of gimmick

I could see it working much better if the unit was deployed and you continued to control your main hero in a more torb-like sense, though. It could be a free moving drone, and you could direct its movement and attack targets using an ability (having it set to right click could almost give it an RTS type feel maybe?)

Having to buy most stuff. But the game is nice enough to give 10 skins of Widowmaker, a character that I only have 7 minutes with her.

How does comp lucioball work in terms of point gain/loss? I'm at the gates of Diamond and I'm afraid to go try get 3000 points and spiral on a losing spree instead
I have made probably the best, and worse version of lucioball. Called: fuckioball. Lucio's speed is set to 150%, no cooldowns, low gravity, 500% ult gain. 1v1. It's awful and I enjoy every minute of it

SR gain loss doesn't seem to be affected by performance though, that's the only difference I noticed in ~25h of playing
I booped the ball away from my goal and it said Save, then the ball teleported back to its pre-boop position and continued into the goal. This game is a crock of shit haha.
Would anyone be terribly upset if they removed Hanzo's ability to scatter arrow at someones feet to do massive damage/one hit kill them? Maybe adding a min distance the arrows have to travel after splitting. I hadn't played Overwatch in a while and I had forgotten how frustrating it is to get killed in such a cheesy way.

I dont know what design it was meant to fill, but its near worthless if it wasnt for this cheese strat. More Quality Blizzard design I guess.

SR gain loss doesn't seem to be affected by performance though, that's the only difference I noticed in ~25h of playing
I can confirm this is untrue. Me and my friend have a setup when we queue where I stick near goal and get the occasional goal when vollyballing it with the other goalie, while he goes in on offense and gets 2-3 goals a game. After around 8 games with a win each time he went from 30 points below me to 50 above me. It's kind of aggravating tbh because I've been limiting my opponents to under 2 goals a game.
Man people are fed up with this game huh. I hadn't played in like 2 months and I started playing again this week because event + vacation, and every game or two I hear someone saying "I fucking hate this game" or "this hero is bullshit" or "I can't believe Blizzard still haven't addressed X". It's pretty funny because I don't see people throwing shit at their teammates quite as much as before in comp, instead they're throwing shit at Blizzard. Even in this thread it seems like there isn't a day where the bad maps and shitty hero balance aren't brought up. I'm not sure why I brought this up, just something I noticed. I guess I'm just both mad and sad at Blizzard's game design because Overwatch could be much better.
I just played a game of Lucioball that went 10-0. We went through like 20 different players on the other team before the game was mercy killed.
