I fail to see a problem with the title. It's a thread about Games Workshop and it's Warhammer series along with it's other series both old and new IE LOTR's, Necromunda etc. Seems pretty straight forward to me.
In the previous thread we talked about it, and it was suggested to call it either Games-Workshop Megathread or Warhammer Megathread. Considering GW does have a few non-WHF/W40K things (Or atleast did at some point) i called it Games-Workshop. Apparantly that's not good enough. So if everyone could tell me what name they'd like that would be good.
I think the names fine. If everyone is flipping shit cause they don't wanna be open about playing with "Toy Soldiers" then that's their problem.
Got the name changed as it was causing too many problems.
We really need to sort out the title. A few people don't like the current one, but going back to Warhammer 40K megathread implies it's not for fantasy/other GW things.
Who said it'd have to be Warhammer 40k Megathread? :raise:
Now contains fantasy, yet the OP is still all about 40k :C [editline]2nd February 2012[/editline] which is a terrible shame because Warhammer: Age of Reckoning was the favourite MMO for me
I am debating adding some scouts to my marine army for some cheap bodies to draw fire with. Have them sit in the back with sniper rifles and missile launchers. y/n? EDIT: content:
Scout snipers have lost me every game I have played with them. Not worth the points at all, because you're likely to score around 4-7 wounds every game with them and because their AP is shit anything with a decent armour save is going to survive. You can't choose where to allocate wounds so rending is practically useless against Commander Squads, and its not reliable enough to use against Termies. I love the Ork Nob btw.

So far thinking about having this: - Intro (GW in general) - Warhammer Fantasy (brief description of setting and races and some pictures) - Warhammer 40k (brief description of setting and races and some pictures) - TableTop (Description and pictures) - Roleplay (Deathwatch, Rogue Trader and Dark Heresy) - Games (Space marine, Dawn of war series, Warhammer online, Dark Millenium online) - Other (LoTR, Battlefleet Gothic etc)
there was also that fantasy RTS, the one that wasn't very good, I believe it's called ""Mark of Chaos"
there was also that fantasy RTS, the one that wasn't very good, I believe it's called ""Mark of Chaos"
Don't really think it's popular enough to be worth adding.

The bloodbowl video game is worth adding.
All warhammer 40k games are 66% off on steam with their DLC's Space Marine only £10
All warhammer 40k games are 66% off on steam with their DLC's Space Marine only £10
Is it just me or does valve go through extreme lengths to sell 40k games? The amount of sales 40k games get on Steam is surprising.
Is it just me or does valve go through extreme lengths to sell 40k games? The amount of sales 40k games get on Steam is surprising.
They do? I thought Killing Floor was the one they always put on sale?
They do? I thought Killing Floor was the one they always put on sale?
They do. Retribution has gone on sale for about 6 times between the summer and christmas.
Might grab Chaos Rising and the tau commander DLC for retribution.
Is it just me or does valve go through extreme lengths to sell 40k games? Game sales sell and that gives them more profit, especially seeing steam games charge full retail price usually without losing the costs for box and disc production. So really thinking about it they're usually selling their games (on sale) at digital price. Depends on how much the sale is though, half price is usually the correct digital price. [editline]2nd February 2012[/editline] There's a free multiplayer weekend for retribution too.
All warhammer 40k games are 66% off on steam with their DLC's Space Marine only £10
every dlc EXCEPT DREADNOUGHT
And the latest skins. Dammit I wanted to be a Death Guard but nooooo
every dlc EXCEPT DREADNOUGHT
Hey, at least it's cheaper than the model.
Hey, at least it's cheaper than the model.
Then again you're more liable to get the most fun out of that model.
Hey, at least it's cheaper than the model.
Anything is cheaper than a Games Workshop model. In the store I was at yesterday, there was a console argument. Someone was saying that Xbox live is massively overpriced as they bought a Land Raider for £41. Xbox Live costs £40.
Well the problem with Xbox Live is its a constant payment monthly/yearly while the land raider was a one off payment. There is that argument that once you have an army its constantly re-playable compared console games that you pay about £45 for each and probably finish in a few hours or over a week unless it has multiplayer (and some companies charge you to even play that).

Anyone in here live in Sheffield and use the Games workshop in town?
Oh woe is I who promised to spend $20 on my friend's drawings when this lovely deal of Warhammer appears on Steam. Fffffffuck
Oh woe is I who promised to spend $20 on my friend's drawings when this lovely deal of Warhammer appears on Steam. Fffffffuck
Your family will stay around longer than the deals (I hope) Priorities man
Oh woe is I who promised to spend $20 on my friend's drawings when this lovely deal of Warhammer appears on Steam. Fffffffuck
Did he guilt trip you or something? But seriously, his drawings can wait, this deal won't be around forever, even if that makes me sound like a bad person, it's true.
