I just recently recieved news that EU has signed under the ACTA which will have a mayor impact on the internet. I am kinda worried where this will go as I never thought the EU would be so incredibly stupid to sign under it. Heres the article: http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2012-01/26/eu-signs-up-to-acta Please post your opinions about this law and how you think it would affect EU! I've been surfing the internet for as long as i can remember, and im 21 years old. For me nothing has changed, except these days every retard is online. Now the goverment want's to take affair. As far as i can see, they are one of those retards.
You know something's fucked up when we manage to remove some freedoms that the Americans have done. [editline]27th January 2012[/editline] In case anyone doesn't know what ACTA is: [editline]27th January 2012[/editline] Hell, under ACTA, my avatar is grounds for legal action, as it depicts a copyrighted character. It is a fan work which I have used, but ACTA doesn't differentiate like that.
This is a big problem and one that requires taking action. I'm sure there's more petitions out there, but in any case sign as many as possible against ACTA. http://www.stopp-acta.info/english/get+involved/petition/petition.html
EU Parliament hasn't yet voted on it, so it's not in effect and there's a chance it will never be.
Well, true that it haven't gone through yet, but the chance is still there to be passed. I am just worried it will as I was paying full attention to the whole shitstorm over at US about the SOPA thing.
The chance is there of course, but I'm pretty optimistic on the situation. The last time it was voted down almost unanimously.
