• Interactive Conquest! Build an empire!

Hey guys. Tying out this new interactive concept. Basically, you guys start out as a small town, and ATTEMPT to make a name for yourselves. The map will start out closed up into the Italian Peninsula, and as you conquer, will zoom out. Turns will be made by suggestion-like posts. Ex:
>> Assault enemy army with troops. >> Set up camp for the night.
This interactive, however is not all about fighting. You can manage settlements, build new ones to control un-conquered regions lacking a settlement, and much more. Here we go. The year is 300 BC. Various tribes and Hellenic colonists control the peninsula. In fear of being conquered, and in lust for power in wealth, the leaders of your village decide to launch a conquest of the peninsula. May the gods be in their favor.. Here's a key. Map:
Make religion illegal.
Make religion illegal.
Religion has been criminalized, those whom continue to practice it prosecuted and hanged! Atheism is now the common belief of the country, although minor revolts happen in the City here and there.
Make some trade routes with Gallic, they seem like nice people.
Make some trade routes with Gallic, they seem like nice people.
The Gauls accept your trade route offer, and fix to set up trade routes in the near future!
GAMEPLAY NOTE: Your relations have improved with the Gallic Tribes. They now trust your country slightly more.
Note: You now have a Treasury fund. Your current treasury is 1000. Trade income is currently: 0 Internal income is currently 500 A list like this will appear regularly.
NOW! See if the Gauls will assist you in a war against the Hellenic. Also, a made a tiny map.
NOW! See if the Gauls will assist you in a war against the Hellenic. Also, a made a tiny map.
I DO have the map for a reason (aswell as the unrealistic Territories. I do wish to keep it this way, but I will consider your map quite a lot. Very nice looking.) ______________________ The Gauls agree to assist you in ridding of the Hellenic fiends. They will deploy their forces soon after yours. Armies: 1 (x followed by a number indicates number of men in unit.) Soldiers for Army 1: 1. Militia (Spears, x100) 2. Militia (Spears, x100) 3. Militia Archers (x60, 30 arrows per-man) 4. Free-rider cavalry (Spears, x60) 5. General (Sword, x1, Attached to [Unit 4]) 6. Saber branch archer cavalry (x30, 50 arrows per man) Treasury: Funds: 1,500 Trade income: 200 Internal income: 600 Income from flowing economy: 300
Well if you are going to keep your map, at least draw the lines better. Make it so they are all connected. The bottom one is how you should be doing it.
Alright. I'll implement that next update or so ________ While you were busy with other matters, The Gauls and Hellenic colonists have conquered some land. You'd better get busy.
GAMEPLAY NOTE: The Other factions have more soldiers than you! But, their soldiers are nothing close to truly professional armies. If you wish to maintain military equality, or even superiority, you should invest your treasury into developing a professional army. At current, you are the only faction able to do this.
Start the attack! And yeah, train your army.
Start the attack! And yeah, train your army.
You and your Gallic allies lay siege on a Hellenic town. As your army passes by, a village surrenders to you. Treasury Summary: Funds: 2,300 Trade income: 200 Internal income: 800 Income from flowing economy: 300 Expenditure: 500 (Developing professional Army)
Capture nearby villages. Tell them, that you will become the greatest empire the world has ever known. Then rape their women.
Capture nearby villages. Tell them, that you will become the greatest empire the world has ever known. Then rape their women.
You plan to do this, but must finish the fight here at this town, as the Hellenic army sallies forth to challenge your ridiculous claims of their land.
GAMEPLAY NOTE: Now that you are in the first Tier of Professional Army development, your army has learned the Mass formation! Mass formation increases the defensive integrity of your army, as well as the effectiveness of an initial charge. Above all, it simply frightens more disorganized armies.
The Armies march into the battle field. Army Key:
Blitz your horses into the crowd of soldiers to break them up. Then just launch the rest of your soldiers at them. With your allys.
Blitz your horses into the crowd of soldiers to break them up. Then just launch the rest of your soldiers at them. With your allys.
Your horses charge into a crowd of the enemy, fightening and scattering their front ranks. The Gauls charge, engaging in heavy battle. Your horse archers stand from a distance, bombarding Hellenic troops with arrows. Your soldiers, shortly follow behind.
Have your archers attack from a distance, and then have the close soldiers just run up with their swords swinging.
Have your archers attack from a distance, and then have the close soldiers just run up with their swords swinging.
The battle rages on, and the unrealized ferocity of the Gauls turns on the Hellenic army. Your army charges with ferocity as well, one of the infantry ranks finishes off a Hellenic unit, moving on to scrap the next.
Keep it up. Get the horse archers in it too.
Keep it up. Get the horse archers in it too.
Soon enough, the Hellenic general realizes he will lose his entire army if he continues this way. The Hellenic forces retreat from the town, leaving it behind for Your forces to capture. The Hellenic forces garrison themselves in the next city. Hey Milkdairy, just wanted to stop in and say very nice job so far. I liked the battle system and everything you've done with this. Maybe I could help with this in the future, developing civilizations and stuff. It would be pretty cool though to use a map of a place that doesn't exist, so as too add exploration to the game.
Begin to invent military weapons. We need cannons and guns. If we can get them before anyone else, we will rule the world! *Also if you do add places that don't exist, I WANNA MAKE MAPS. :3*

As for the updates, I'll have to stop 'til tomorrow, Spore.
Well UPDATE NOW! Oh, also take over that village near your land.
You take raid the village with your army, and they surrender. Subsequently, pilgrims from various regions of your expanding empire set out from their homes and start new life in newly built villages, which gives you all possible regional control without assaulting other factions. You now border the Gallic tribes, and The Hellens, who have expanded their colony all the way to the heel of the peninsula. It also seems a new faction has appeared at the edge of Sicily! Who knows who they are. NOTE: Name of this faction not yet discovered. Treasury Summary: Funds: 4,100 Trade income: 500 Internal income: 2000 Income from flowing economy: 300 Expenditure: 1000 (Developing professional Army stage 2)
Professional army development: Your Army has learned Equipment standardization! This makes your battle line more effective, and can flat out the quality difference of weapons in your army. But; Soldiers are still required to buy the equipment with their own money! Development will continue to stage 3.
Get some boats to capture land in Asia.
GAMEPLAY NOTE: You still need to capture at least all the land downwards of your southernmost territory! (Shoe of Italy)
Your sailors are afraid to sail any further than the outer coasts of the peninsula, having heard tales of giant sea monsters! Perhaps in the future they'll come to their senses.
Move the army to the northeastern corner of the Hellenic territory and begin attacking. Begin training another army. The end goal is to encircle the center region of the Hellenic territory that borders your own territory.
Treasury Summary: Funds: 4,900 Trade income: 500 Internal income: 2000 Income from flowing economy: 300 Expenditure: 2000 (Developing professional Army stage 3)
Professional Army development stage 3: Your army has learned the true cornerstone of a professional army: State-funded equipment! Now men from all over the Country are joining the army to fight for glory and freedom, un-restricted by the ailments of monetary lacking. Stage 3 makes it so Armies take less time to create, and may have more men, but they now cost money to recruit.
Your army marches toward the town, and lays siege. Although your army is tired from marching the extra distance! The siege will take longer than usual to begin.
Uh, so did everyone lose interest?
Other people should be able to command their own empires.
