LOVED this movie when I was a kid. rented it from a library
Loved the movie even though it could be a little better. Basic storyline was good, (Earth destroyed by alien race made of energy, terraforming ship launched into deep space to be found later, etc.), love the alien races in it. (Freaking crazy kangaroo legged beaked aliens!), and....well I guess that is it. This movie inspired me so much for so many ideas, and if I could in the future, I would get ownership of it and remake it into something better while keeping the story, characters, and races intact. Oh yeah, and more focus on my favorite alien character, Stith.
Damn, Titan A.E is better than all Twillight and all HSM movies together. I want Ragdolls and maps for GMod... NOW! Or a HL2 Mod.
As soon as I learn how to model and animate and rig, I will possibly make some of the aliens from the movie into Gmod, as well as some other things. Been one of my goals besides getting ownership of this movie and remaking it to fit into my own game series...
Speaking of games...
Shame they didn't release it, would of been good even though I had a feeling it would play like the PlayStation Disney's Atlantis game. Would love to play as Stith in that game. But hey, no game, meaning I can do something with it in the future. ^^
Just watched this again for the first time in like 8 years. Great movie.
I really need to see this again.
Just rewatched it. Great movie from my childhood...i forgot how awesome it was.
I should rewatch it from beginning to end. I downloaded it off the internet, but I never really got around to watching the whole thing again.
Don't pirate a film this good.
I had bought it on dvd a long time ago and have since lost it. I don't think watching something I already bought is pirating.
The movie started a dystopian animation trend. Treasure planet is a lot like Titan AE, but centered around capitalism. Point being: It's an excellent movie that won't ever... expire.
The narrator at the beginning reminds me of the Fallout Intro's. Was just waiting for him to say "War, war never changes."
The narrator at the beginning reminds me of the Fallout Intro's. Was just waiting for him to say "War, war never changes."
Actually, it is the same guy. Ron Perlman, the man who voiced the narrator in the Fallout Series, also voiced the character in Titan A.E, who served as narrator and the main protagonist's father. I think that Titan AE should be remade, with better CG and stuff. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing as is, but it could be 10x more amazing with ships that look real.
Who's your daddy? GUNE'S YOUR DADDY MOTHA FUKKAS

No need to remake. Remakes always suck.
Don Bluth was a great man. Untill he did some LSD and Coke and made "Rock a Doodle", and "A Troll in Central Park". Then He Succumbed to the Disney formula and the Company by making A movie based on a very shaky topic for all Russians. But before that movie he made Titan A.E. which was awesome. I was surprised to find out that the Lizard Alien was voiced by Nathan Lane. Go Figure.
Rock A Doodle was an awesome movie, how dare you criticize it!

Remade with more backstory, more battle scenes (epic space battles anyone?), and more stuff entirely. The original is great, though I would like to know how everything came to be, why the Drej attacked Earth if not just to get rid of Titan A.E, etc.
Get a grip, a remake would just ruin everything. Heck, a tacked on sequel would ruin everything. All is well and the film is perfect. Don't mess with good things.
this movie is fucking awesome. it was the first DVD i ever purchased. I love the part where the main character gets to fly the spaceship and then some epic mid 90's style soundtrack takes over. its so awesome edit: and the dredge or dreg or whatever theyre called. their spaceships are made out of energy. so awesome.
Drej, strange spelling, took me a while to figure out too. I really love that death beam. Death Star ain't got shit on that.
Get a grip, a remake would just ruin everything. Heck, a tacked on sequel would ruin everything. All is well and the film is perfect. Don't mess with good things.
It really depends on who does the remake. Yes, some remakes were bad, but you can't say that about all remakes. My idea would just expand upon what the movie covered, go into detail about things. Earth can't be the only human planet in the movie, for one, and they never went into detail how humanity discovered how to make a ship that can create planets nor how they even met these countless races in the first place. We don't even know why the Drej attacked Earth! I am not saying to remake the movie completely, but just update things so we know what is going on.
It was pretty painted out why. We were playing god and the Drej didn't like a potential suitor to the position of apex predator in the galaxy.

Smart move, going up against a planet creator that needed pure energy to work.
I remember loving this film when I was a child then I watched it a few months back and I was all sad because its not as good as it used to be.
I remember watching this round my mates house in primary school eating cold pizza and drinking lemonade. Wow. Big Nostalgia. And there's a bit near the start where some guy gets shot with a laser gun and he disintegrates? That bit disturbed me!
I just love the animations of the movie. The 3D + 2D mix is so great. And the story is amazing. *BUMP*
This is my favorite movie in existence. :swoon:
Always liked it.
