Set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the story focuses on Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with lung cancer. Living with a pregnant wife and a teenage son with cerebral palsy, he decides to "break bad" and turn to a life of crime by selling crystal methamphetamine with his former student Jesse Pinkman, in order to secure his family's financial future before he dies. Five seasons in, the show has received critical acclaim for its writing and cinematography, and in my opinion it is one of the best drama series of the 2000s. Characters Walter White, also known as Heisenberg, is a brilliant chemist and high school teacher who partners up with his former student Jesse to produce and deal methamphetamine. Jesse Pinkman teams up with Walter after the DEA raids his operation and arrests his partner. After seeing Jesse escape from the DEA's grasp, Walter blackmails Jesse into helping him navigate the illegal drug trade in exchange for his chemical expertise. Skyler White is the wife of Walter and mother of their son Walter Jr. She is a published short-story writer, and for the first two seasons she is pregnant with the couple's daughter, Holly. Hank Schrader is Walter's boisterous brother-in-law, Marie Schrader's husband, and ASAC of the Albuquerque office of the DEA. He has been leading a year-long investigation of the meth kingpin in the area named "Heisenberg", unaware that it is actually Walter. Saul Goodman is an Albuquerque criminal lawyer, best known for his over-the-top late night commercials. Despite his shady appearance, Saul is a highly competent legal operator who can sniff out legal loopholes and negotiate cherry deals for his clients. Saul becomes Walt and Jesse's legal counsel, aiding them in hiding from the DEA and giving them his legal expertise. Gus Fring is a Chilean national and respected Albuquerque restauranteur/philanthropist who owns a successful chain of chicken restaurants, Los Pollos Hermanos, and uses it as a cover for an extremely successful methamphetamine distribution network in the southwestern United States. Season 1 Walter White discovers he has lung cancer. Desperate to secure his family's financial future and free from the fear that had always inhibited him, Walt teams up with his former student Jesse to turn a used RV into a mobile drug lab. Season 2 Involved with a volatile drug kingpin, Walt and Jesse must figure a way out of their business partnership. Despite their bad experiences, Walt and Jesse rejoin to cook meth and build a new drug distribution model in Albuquerque. Meanwhile, Skyler becomes increasingly suspicious about his frequent absences and excuses. Season 3 Two new adversaries tracks the elusive "Heisenberg", Walter's kingpin alter ego, as tries to battle his two identities: a desperate father trying to provide for his family, and a newly appointed key player in the Albuquerque drug trade. As danger around him escalates, Walt is now entrenched in the complex worlds of his family on the verge of dissolution, and the ruthless drug cartel. Season 4 Walt and Jesse must cope with the consequences of their disturbing actions in Season 3's finale as they anxiously wait to see what their drug lord boss will do next. Tension mounts as Walt faces a true standoff with his employer, with neither side willing or able to back down. Walt must also adjust to a new relationship with Skyler, whom while still reconciling her relationship with Walt, is committed to standing by him and ensuring her sister Marie and brother-in-law Hank are financially stable. Season 5 No longer under the thumb of a mastermind criminal, Walt now assumes the role of one himself, as he and Jesse look to build their own empire. Meanwhile, Skyler struggles with the reality of her husband’s new role and Hank works to wrap up his investigation. The second half of Season 5 will begin July 14, 2013.
would not fuck after season 2
Couldnt agree more, she let herself go.
Got my parents watching it. They currently watch about 3 episodes a night.
2014, here I come.
I like the OP, better than the last one. [editline]1st February 2012[/editline] You should include some more info like spoiler free summaries of the seasons, or something.
Just added season summaries, gonna add more info on the characters later.
you'll say that walt is cooking meth but you won't say that gus is the head of the southwestern distribution chain i dont even see how the latter is a spoiler, you pretty much know this the second you're introduced to the character
Fell off track about half way through season 4. Gotta catch up before season 5 comes along. What is it, end of March? Or at least that's when they start filming?
I wonder how Jesse will eventually find out [sp]Walt allowed his girlfriend to die, and poisoned Brock. It doesn't seem like the kind of thing he would tell Jesse after everything that's happened.[/sp]
Is this the first series to have a v2? (Besides Doctor Who) Deserves it.
Couldnt agree more, she let herself go.
I was under the impression that the weight gain on Skylar's actress was done purely for the show's realism (the pregnancy, stress, etc.)
I was under the impression that the weight gain on Skylar's actress was done purely for the show's realism (the pregnancy, stress, etc.)
I didn't even think about that.
I'm hoping the "last batch of shots will happen in winter 2013" is a typo
walt does stupid things sometimes V:v:V [editline]2nd February 2012[/editline] I still hate [sp]the gus zombie in season 4 finale[/sp]
It's both extremely badass and extremely stupid
It's both extremely badass and extremely stupid
Same thing applies to Walt blowing up that car in the gas station in Season 1 Keep in mind that this is the same show where [sp]Hank is able to track their RV with an ATM camera[/sp]
WOW, did Walt really just [sp]buy Walt Jr. a freaking Charger?![/sp]
WOW, did Walt really just [sp]buy Walt Jr. a freaking Charger?![/sp]
[sp]Yeah, but he doesn't get to keep it. Wait 'til you see what happens to it.[/sp]
I did not understand why he did that to be honest. Was it just[sp]Walt being unable to swallow his pride and take it back? Or was there some sort of legal repercussion to it? I mean he only had it a day, and there probably weren't that many miles on it.[/sp]
[sp]He did it because he's a badass and felt like blowing up a mother fucking car. The return money was only going to be $900 anyway.[/sp]
Now, I'm not quite done with Season 4 yet, but am I the only one who dislikes Gus and kind of hopes he gets caught? [sp]I already know that his face gets screwed up later, but not how. PLEASE do not spoil it.[/sp]
Just keep watching.
WOW, did Walt really just [sp]buy Walt Jr. a freaking Charger?![/sp]
No, [sp]He never bought him a Charger. Are you referring to the Challenger?[/sp]
