I just think about how much it sucked to get punched in the face/choked out a million times my first day of doing MMA. Whenever I feel myself getting tired, I remember what that felt like and it gives me the ability to keep going and do more. I don't want that to ever happen to me again. It sucked a lot of balls.

I have never looked at a swole guy at the gym and admired/idolized him. Mostly because those guys don't do anything with their strength, they only work out to get like that so they can impress girls. I work out for strength and efficiency, not cosmetics. I don't look nearly as good as most guys in the gym, but I'm just as strong and much lighter.
You can't rationally assume that about every swole guy...

There are two types of strength, gym strength, and useful strength. Ive seen guys who can bench 500 but cant knock off 60 consecutive pushups in a row.
Exactly. Plenty of dudes sit there and do curls for no reason other than to make their arms big. Modern body builders are probably some of the slowest runners around. I understand wanting to look good, but taking it to an extreme and trying to get all jacked for no reason other than being jacked is silly. If you're working out for a sport or something and get jacked in the process of doing so, good for you. I wouldn't have looked up to Arnold if he was just a body builder and nothing else, it's what he did with his genetics and effort that make him admirable. I don't think there's much to idolize in a person that works out every day to get all jacked and doesn't do anything with it, though.
