searching for photos of apples on google is so annoying almost all that shows up is pictures of steve jobs and the apple logo
Too bad there's not a "Literal" option for Google images so if you want to look for say, an Incubus demon you get actual demon images and not music bands. Anyway cool square-brush apple. Reminds me of enlarged pixel art.
Would be kinda nifty to be able to exclude everything commercial, agreed. I'm often googling for material to use aside drawing in photoshop and it's a fucking bitch sometimes.
self portrait
self portrait
That looks really great, and you did what I usually do with the shirt (and probably what a lot of people do) and just minimized the detail there. The way you did your hair is pretty nice, too. And, like I usually do, you didn't do much detail on the ear and it stands out a little bit, but it isn't glaring like my stuff usually is. But I think it might look nicer had you detailed it a bit more, but don't stress over it. Great work overall. The tone on the far side of your mouth looks like it might be a bit flat, but it still reads clearly.
self portrait
this is awesome detlef :) i remember you were working on drawing hair better, it looks great
DETLEF WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE YOU ARE A NORSE WOMAN SHOW PRIDE IN YOUR CULTURE AND INSPIRE FEAR IN THE CREATIONISM CORNER. RAWWWWWWWWWWWWRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH Of course I am only just joking detlef, and the painting looks lovely. If you do feel the need to get revenge though, I can send you a picture of me which you can use to put me in a dress or something.
Still a heavy wip. [thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/zombie_copy.jpg[/thumb]
Still a heavy wip. [thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/zombie_copy.jpg[/thumb]
Make sure you check your composition - at the moment the main subject is the roof of the car (or whatever that white form to the right of his face is)
Make sure you check your composition - at the moment the main subject is the roof of the car (or whatever that white form to the right of his face is)
Thank you, but.. I just realized that I forgot to unmerge the layers and saved it. I'm an idiot. So, I think, the only way for me to fix the composition is to cut some right part of the picture to make the dude become one of the focuses, and to add some trees in the left..
My submission for the Tim and Eric fan art competition. So that's why all the shading looks bad. I need to follow some tutorials or something.
So this is what I have now. and sorry for spamming the last thread, i'll try to be brief here Do you think I should put something on the background?
I'm working on a mystery TF2 story, I'm looking for C@C on my introduction paragraph. What do you call a city, that runs on the logic of a man whose brain has been replaced with a grenade, a bullet, a badger with rabies, a pissed off wasp, and no morals of any sort? You call that city Teu-Fort. A town that the U.S. Government would rather nuke out of existence, rather than continue sending the materials that fuel the sibling rivalry between the Mann brothers. The Government does this because they get paid large sums of money by the man that receives the materials; Saxton Hale, Owner of the weapons company Mann Co. . His factory is why the air in Teu-Fort reeks of sulfur, and from his grand ivory tower he calls the Mann Co. Tower, Saxton looks down upon the city. But little did the high and mighty Hale know, that from the shadows, a disgruntled figure stares right back at him.
self portrait
Could you tell me all the steps you do when making stuff like this? I really like this style. Do you first do like an outline sketch and then go over and put in the basic values over the lines and then add highlights and shadows using semi transparency? I know it might sound dumb to some of you but I really can't figure out how to do this correctly...
self portrait
needs a more manly chin.
what do the elbows look like??
I got bored in photoshop tonight: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/xQ7o6.png[/img_thumb]

Hey, do you guys have any specific websites you like to get anatomy photographs for sketching and general practicing?

I get the feeling that everyone else in class would laugh their asses off minus the feminist professor :v:
There is a female fine-artist that does paintings from frames from porn movies I'll see if I can find her
Hmmm... http://www.pixelovely.com/gesture/figuredrawing.php (For random gesture/figure practice) http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/stockart/model/ And generally if you have an area you know you need to work on you can usually google it if you go into google images. I like reading anatomy and how the muscles/bones work, as well, so I have a few books IRL for that.
Making a poster for a contest. The little scribbles is where the words will be.
