Ok so I have acne but it's not "normal" acne(compared to my friends), when i don't use any acne treatment then it goes crazy and gets good then bad then HORRIBLE then gets better and keeps cycling between those. The weird thing is that when I do use acne treatment then the very first time I use it my acne gets a little worse then it will clear up then get really bad. I admit i do pick at my face and touch it alot so this is part of the reason I breakout with no acne treatment, but the thing is I have tried proactive + alot of others and they do that same thing as the second paragraph. So I was hoping the peoples of facepunch with this same or close to the thing that is happening to me can help, here is the places i am getting it: ------------------------------------------------------- blackheads: -nose -chin (not bad here but annoying) whiteheads: -forehead -temples -cheeks (barley here) -along the upper forehead hairline -jaw bone line -------------------------------------------------------- Now if you have any suggestions please keep them nice don't make fun of me because you have perfect skin and I don't Also if you have problems with acne post them here to see if anyone else or me can help, so I guess this could be like a megathread. - - -
I use acne treatment regulary. I figure, the thing is, it takes 3-4 weeks before you can see the effects of the treatment.
Okay, here's what you do. It's very simple: Wear your hair fairly short, and wash it pretty much daily. A few times a day, take a cotton ball and some rubbing alcohol and go over your face with it. Don't bother with the high-dollar acne treatments, they're all just alcohol mixed with moisturizing cream and shit. Try to keep your hands off your face, and don't use soap on it, that just puts more oil into the skin. Most of all, just grow out of it. But whatever you fucking do, don't allow one zit to grow hair out of it, then shave everything but that one spot so that by senior year you have a 1x1 centimeter patch of heavily infected, rotting skin with half an inch of hair growing out of it to compliment your clean shaven and acne-ravaged face. I knew a guy who did that in high school and it was fucking horrifying. Even if he finally wised up and shaved it he probably has a scar in the middle of his cheek because of it.
1. Drink plenty of water 2. Wash face frequently with soap 3. Eat stuff with vitamin A 4. Don't pick em ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_A#Sources_of_vitamin_A
I know everyone skin works differently, but I have to pop mine. Thing is, I clean it right away and just leave it alone and it's all good. If you continue to fuck with them you break the skin then you have a scab to worry about. I even pop them in a certain way. The best tip is not touching your face at all costs and clean it with soap and put moisturizer. Shower after sweating a lot. Just stay clean.
Yeah, alcohol tends to help. Especially use it after getting back home from whatever, and before you go to sleep/when you wake up.
-fucking facepunch double post glitch snip-
Pee on your face, works
With the emo hair you have, you're bound to pick some up sooner or later.
:argh:. you havent even seen it yet.
Just keep watching your face with a mild face soap once a day and use an exfoliant every week or so.
When I was younger, I had severe acne. It often made me pretty self concious to go out with friends, I felt pretty shitty about myself. I tried every type of cream/tablet there was to clear it up, nothing worked. Each attempt at a new substance, my hopes would be crushed. I used to panic that I'd get big gaps/holes in my face from the scarring. This is a picture of my cheek; So, yeh, I was extremely down alot of the time. I then went to the doctors and over a course of 5-6 months he tried me out on various different tablets to no avail. Then I was sent to hospital, to see what they could do. They then decided to put me on some extra strong tablet. It basically dried up all my skin. My lips were in a state, chapped, bloody. My eyelids were all crusty. The tablet sucked. Hell, it even made my balls really dry. They sucked dick. But 7 months later, they were gone. It killed all of them. All the acne on my body was depleted. Since then, none have ever grown back, only the occasional little tiny, unnoticeable one. Today;

Go to the doctors if it's that stubborn. I had horrible acne when I was young and was bullied for it. I was ten when my skin broke out as I hit puberty early. I was put on medication and it kept it manageable. When I was just twelve it was so abd that I was miserable and my mum brouth me to the docotrs. There's many different types so if one doesn't work you can ask to try something else. Don't worry about any liver problems, trust me there are so many different types, again talk to a doctor about that. No acne treatments bought in stores ever helped me so don't waste your time with them. Now I'm on a contraceptive pill that also doubles up as something to treat acne but eh I'm a girl. A doctor will help you, the stuff you buy in stores does nothing but dry them out and that may treat some of the current spots it won't stop the problem of them coming back in tons. Also to get rid of a spot that is especially bad looking I used toothpaste on it, you hear that tip everywhere but it actually works very well. It'll look a lot better in a couple of days if you put it on when you go to sleep. Make sure you wash your face every morning and I'd do it before going to bed too because it's likely you have oily skin like I do. If you touch your face a lot this is hugely important. Sorry if all this stuff has been said before in previous replies, I kind of skimmed through it.
Here's how to prevent. Man you guys really aren't kidding are you? Shower each day. If you have long hair then cut it (mandatory) (not really, but still, do it) Use face wash and don't stop! You can't just use face wash now and then and expect it to work, take it each day, morning and night. After you wake up and before you go to sleep. It will get worse in the beginning, but there's a solution to that too. Skin lotion. Because your skin really dries out after using facewash, so always put this on afterwards, unless you like peeling your skin off.. Sicko and last but not least: Use makeup goddammit fuck, you will need this shit. it's mandatory if you want to at least look decent while the face wash is doing its job. Don't be afraid to buy it. The clerks don't give a shit about you, all they want is money, they don't care what you buy, so just do it.
A get a little on my forehead every now and then, but my hair pretty much covers it.
If it's that bad, just an hero. Or you could just ignore your spots... (User was banned for this post ("Meme shit." - ventilated))
I'm quite lucky, I only get one or two every now and again. Worst place was my forehead where there were usually three or four pimples at any given time, but nothing major... but because I have a fringe you couldn't see them (maybe having the fringe is what caused them in the first place). I've been using some face-wash thing recently and that's got rid of the very few I did have and prevented any from really popping up.
I once got a sore on my DICK. No jokes here. I couldn't fap until it was gone.
Same here, damn it was irritating. And no jokes here either.
Don't waste your time with thought anti acne products. It's all bullshit. Just remember to do a couple things. 1. is to never wash your face with soap. So not even in the shower. Wash it soapless. 2. is to wash your face daily with just water and a towel. I am not really the prime example of how it should be done though, i have acne myself but i just don't care as it's not very bad. I make sure i have no gross white dried out acne so it doesn't bother other people. There's still people of my age with acne, and i am 19, so why should i care.

There's still people of my age with acne, and i am 19, so why should i care.
True for the most part, but a lot of stuff in this thread annoys me, mainly because there is a lot of disinformation, I myself have had pretty serious acne, cystic, around 50 on the face through mistreatment and using products that I thought would work if I kept using them. I have some minor scarring luckily but if pick at them and dont treat them they may scar which is not great in the long run. My advice, goto a doctor, the doctor I went to gave me anti-biotics to get the cystic acne to stop flaring and differen(topical retinoid) which cleared it up for the most part, he then sent me to see a dermatologist(see one if you can, most of them know what they are doing, the one I went to actually had Acne as a kid and has no acne now). I had blue/red light treatment which helped, but was also $70 a treatment, I believe you can actually buy devices that have the blue leds in them that treat acne. Have a look on acne.org For cleaning your face each night, Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser works pretty well, it keeps your sebum but strips away dirt and other things that the bacteria can feast on. Also, don't use anything with Peroxide in it, in the long run it'll make your skin dry, damaged and eventually lose its effectiveness against the acne. Roaccutane is another solution, some people swear by it, but it can fuck your body up something serious so if you can try to stear clear. My brother's liver enzyme test(I think) reported it was too high so he had to stop half way through a course of it. Another problem with the treatment of acne is that what works for some people may not work for you, especially these idiots who are like, why dont you have a shower and wash with soap, or wash with proactiv, it's like shit nigga, if that worked chances are I'd already be doing that and you wouldn't be telling me to do it. Goto a derm, they know what they are doing and they will stop it before it gets worse.
Fyi you can get pills for this shit. In a month or two it's all gone, and it takes most of the scars with it.
I really hate my spots and whatnot. I try my best to keep it all at bay, but on the right side of my face, the spots there just won't go away. The other side is clean, though. They are going, though. Soon my face will be as smooth as a horses asshole.
I have some on my forehead, but my hair covers them. Some on both shoulders and SHITLOADS on my back. They won't go away.

I suffer from acne, so prevention isn't really considered for me, but I like to use Nuetrogena Facial pads & Dior facial balm along with cucumber wipes.. that is after I normally wash my face, I do it three times a day, it's a nice face "brightner"

Stop eating dairy products. Stopping fapping also helps for some guys. I'm assuming you're not having sex because if you have acne you're young, and if you have bad acne you don't have sex.
If you have a REALLY bad acne you should use some neosporin on it. But for general zits the best thing you can do is STOP TOUCHING YOUR FACE.
A got a fucking huge scab under where my tash would be (if I didnt shave it) because I picked the shit out of a spot. You ever heard of that Oxy stuff? That's supposed to get rid of zits.
My dad's girlfriend (who is also a skin technician) gives me semi-regular laser treatments for mine. Generally, she'll rub this cool (but itchy) cream on my face for about ten minutes. Then, I have to endure two different types of lasers, one small coolish one and one hot painful flashy one (I close my eyes and have special goggles over them, but I can still see the flash of the painful laser every time it does so - no matter where on my face she does it). Now, it has worked wonders, but it's quite expensive and IMO a very unenjoyable experience.
