you roll in to the lights with clutch up, car in gear
...or clutch in... ...because it doesn't matter at all... and it doesn't save fuel at all clutch in = car putting enough gas in to keep the engine running clutch out = car putting enough gas in to keep the engine running
...or clutch in... ...because it doesn't matter at all... and it doesn't save fuel at all clutch in = car putting enough gas in to keep the engine running clutch out = car putting enough gas in to keep the engine running
More revs = more gas in Clutch pressed = idle revs Not necessarily agreeing with either side here, just correcting that it does save (a minimal amount of) fuel. Even if they tell you that it's safer and shit at the driving schools etc.. Rolling to a stop, while unsafe saves some fuel.
modern engines cut fuel when you're coasting in gear
More revs = more gas in
Fuel injection systems go off of the throttle position, and manifold vacuum, which would be idle conditions (or less) when no throttle, clutch all the way up, decelerating in gear. More revs =/= more gas in
why does forum called automotive addicts have so many people who don't even know the most basic things about cars
Seems odd that Honda would go to all that trouble of making specific US issue lights just for something as little as red indicators. The lights seem pretty universal in terms of legislation for any country (bar the thin reflector stripes added on for the EU but they're little more than a pair of stickers over the tail lights).
Red indicators were more commong in the US, not sure why they changed the lens for USDM but it was something they just did. I like amber signals myself. This is why it's illegal to have USDM tails/corners on EDM/JDM Civics and shit. Ours are generally red/clear lensed. Earlier front indicators were amber though.
why does forum called automotive addicts have so many people who don't even know the most basic things about cars
I'm fairly sure Bradley knows his shit.

Purly because they're American and its a novelty. If I were to buy a car in the US, red turn signals would be up there in my list. They look so incredibly cool! Did US cars ever have front red turn signals at all?

What the fuck guys stop, you're making me not want to learn manual with all these terms flying around :v:
Manual is easy, I'm not a manual driver, but when I learn it took me top max 5 min to catch how it was, piss easy :v: But anyways, I'm a shame for this forum, I drive a 4 speed american automatic and I love it :v:
Actually you're right, my mistake. I think it all depends on everyone's taste, even if the way you're SUPPOSED to stop is in gear.
It is totally a matter of taste. The annoying thing is that some ignorant people still believe that engine braking burns more fuel than coasting with the engine at idle. The more vacuum you are drawing, the more efficient your engine is running. If people are really intent on getting good gas mileage I suggest they get a vacuum gauge. Keeping it at higher levels of vacuum will nab the best fuel economy. I used to do this all the time to get the best mileage out of my boosted CRX (The boost gauge read vacuum as well) since it drank fuel like a thirsty dog.
why does forum called automotive addicts have so many people who don't even know the most basic things about cars
are you serious?
Don't pay attention to him, not everyone is born with a brain :v:
modern engines cut fuel when you're coasting in gear
"everybody has a modern engine" automerge ):
are you serious?
yes i.e when half of the people thought that the pressure shown on tire side is the pressure you should run it at
No, it's illegal to have red lights on the front of a car unless you are permitted to (Police officer, emergency vehicle).
Driver taught me wrong as a young boy...
"everybody has a modern engine" automerge ):
well obviously some things don't apply if your car is from >3 decades back
yes i.e when half of the people thought that the pressure shown on tire side is the pressure you should run it at well obviously some things don't apply if your car is from >3 decades back
when did anybody think the pressure shown on the side of the tire is recommended? are you talking about when somebody mentioned that the recommended tire pressure isn't necessarily true for aftermarket wheels/tires? because it isn't. also my moms 2008 scion doesn't cut fuel, and my dad's 2009 f150 doesn't cut fuel neither does my 1995 mustang i have never seen a car that cuts fuel
yeah man what the fuck who the hell has fission engines you idiot, our cars BURN fuel. fucken stuped.
I have a fission engine... You don't?
I have a fission engine... You don't?
Nah, I power my car with a pulsejet.
Silly newfolk, i drive my shit with my feet, Flintstones status bro. Reppin.
Yabba Dabba Doo! [editline]10th March 2012[/editline] I was realling hoping they'd throw in a "Yabba dabba doo!" easter egg in "Rage", since the one guy was voiced by Goodman.
Anybody willing to sell there car? :P
Anybody willing to sell there car? :P
Most people here love there car's. But money can separate allot of thing's.
i engine brake to a stop since coasting to a light wastes more fuel and I also have less vacuum power so there is a noticeable amount of extra braking effort needed [editline]10th March 2012[/editline] afr's don't lie, not all cars are the same

But I was doing it hard like shifting into 2ed @5k rpm's letting it die to 3k and shift into 1st. Got a warning for it. Not my fault I was going 60 thin 30 thin 5mph :v:
